Summer Fun

This kids enjoyed the sunshine last week for some backyard fun. We set up a "Slip n' Slide" in the back yard and the kids had a ball slippin' and slidin'

Carter Loses His First Tooth!

Carter couldn't wait to cash in with the Tooth Fairy when he lost his first tooth this May.

Parker Turns 10!

We have celebrated a lot of birhtdays lately! Parker was pleased to finally hit the "double digits"! Instead of a birthday cake, Parker ordered a giant birthday cookie.

Trying Out The Square foot Gardening Craze!

Well, we've been sucked into at least trying out the "square foot gardening craze". We started out with 5 boxes. Tyler, Parker, and Carter have each planted their own box with a variety of plants, and then we have 2 boxes filled with strawberries. So far we are pleased with the progress and lack of weeding required. We'll give a full report at the end of the summer when we have a better idea of how it well works!

Jack Turns ONE!!

May 6th was Jumpin' Jack Johnson's first birthday. He came to the baseball games with us for the evening. When we got home, we threw him a little party. As you can tell from the picture, he wasn't too enthused about wearing his party hat, but he was a good sport for the photo. We made a "Bone" cake for him, but since he couldn't eat it, we ate it for him. To substitute, we made him a small meat cake with turkey, sausage, hamburger, and a link sausage "candle". He has been a good dog. In his first year he chewed and destroyed seven landscape lights, three trees, and countless toys. He has had his moments, but when it comes time to hunt birds, he is a machine. Happy birthday, Jack. We love you (most of the time).

ImageLook at the self-discipline he has. When we put food in front of him and tell him to stay, he won't eat it until we say, "Good Boy, Jack"

Parker Gets The Game Ball!

Parker had a break out game May 6th with 4 hits in 4 at bats, with 3 runs scored! He was key in the win that night and received the sponsor ball for such a great performance. He descirbed this as "the happiest day of my life".

Shannon and Patrick McLane

My oldest sister, Shannon, got married April 25, 2009. She found a great guy from the Ogden area named Patrick McLane. It was a great weekend. We wish them all the best!
We had one of our famous "sister bridal showers" a couple of days before the wedding. I'm sure Shannon was scared to death, but it really was a lot of fun. We tried to embarrass her as much as possible. I think it worked a little bit!

The Wedding
The wedding was in Boise. It really was great. We are all so happy for the lucky couple!

Dylan Turns Two!

It's hard to believe that Dylan is already turning 2! It really does feel like we just brought him home. Most of the time you hear about the "terrible two's", but for Dylan it seems like he may actually be getting easier. He has some really sad family nicknames which I won't share, but I will say that they have been used less often lately! He really is a lot of fun. He loves to be with the big kids and doesn't like to miss out on anything. We wouldn't be complete without Dylan.

Parker Earns His Cub Scout Bear Award
Parker worked hard (and had a lot of fun) earning his bear award in cub scouting. He has a great group of friends and leaders that helped him get there!

Easter Season! The kids had a great time with Easter this year. Dylan was a lot of fun - He definately likes to be in charge now a days!

Every year some friends in our ward have a great egg hunt for all the kids. It is always a lot of fun. After talking to her about the adult easter egg hunt we did in Washington with Kirk and Jenn a few years ago, she decided to give that a try too. It was the night before the kids hunt, and it was blast!

We've really enjoyed taking advantage of Grandma and Grandpa Johnsons's mission at Temple Square to go down for General Conference. We usually aren't alone and it's a great time to get to see Conference live, visit Grandpa and Grandma, and get together with the cousins!
