Born in Los Angeles, raised in Nashville, educated in London - Jonathan Green has spent years wandering the globe as his own boss - but it didn't come without a price. Like most people,. he struggled through years of working in a vast, unfeeling bureaucracy. And even though he was "totally crushed' when he got fired, it gave him the chance to reappraise his life, and rebuild it from scratch.
Since 2010, he's been making a full-time living on the Internet - helping brick and mortar business owners promote themselves on the Internet, helping men and women find true love, ghost writing best sellers for some of the biggest publishers in the world and much, much more.
Thanks to smart planning and personal discipline, he was more successful than he could have possibly expected. He traveled the world, helped friends and family, and moved to an island in the South Pacific.
Now he's passing his knowledge onto the rest of the world as host of a weekly podcast that teaches financial independence, networking with the world's most influential people, writing epic stuff online, and traveling the world for cheap.
His hobbies include kayaking, surfing, and building empires. He currently has a loving girlfriend, and two wonderful kids who love the ocean (almost!) as much as he does.

He's no Tony Robbins entertainment dynamo - but he might improve your life!
Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2018The book starts off with somewhat of a 'Dare To Be Great' intro - humble beginnings ya-da-ya-da you've heard this before.
Then he asserts "When's the last time you heard of someone who was born to a trust fund accomplishing anything significant with their lives?" Well... uh... ever heard of President Donald J. Trump? How about John F. Kennedy? Teddy Kennedy? Robert Kennedy? George W. Bush? John D. Rockefeller Jr. & his sons?
He nearly lost me there thanks to his years of being indoctrinated within academia - i.e. identity politics, denigrating those born into wealth when in fact, overall - those born into wealth generally accomplish considerably more than those of us who were latch key kids who know first hand about gov't cheese, powdered milk, and horsemeat being handed out in shiny silver cans as 'surplus food'. <In the days before EBT (food stamp) cards boys and girls, better days in many ways>
However to his credit, Jonathan Green has a writing style that intelligently communicates, readily accessible, without giving the impression that the author is 'talking down at you'— a skill that many academics do not possess. And he offers useful advice and suggestions that are without overdoing the sales pitches for his library of info-products.
The book is an advertising / marketing device so he does mention his pay to play products but he is giving something of greater value than a spectator sport on TV (if you are willing to work at it) so he has a right to slip in an occasional commercial. The 'now we break for a word from our sponsor' breaks aren't painfully intrusive so it is essentially a win-win proposition. Buy this book... it's free of monetary charge and the time you spend reading it is a worthwhile investment.

A great book
Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2023This book was short and succint. All the models presented seemed very possible and the information was not overwhelming. I was in a slump before reading this book. I own a small business which i run part time but i became "lazy" and did just the bare minimum because sales were not the best.
This book really lifted me and gave me renewed hope. I started reading this book many moons ago and never got around to finish reading it. Im glad i decided to finish this book today. When i started reading it i just had to continue to the end. Thank you for sharing your story and giving great ideas. I have seen many copywriting jobs on boards so i know there is a huge market out there. Thanks for sharing loads of hope

Free Does Not Mean Bad
Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2018This is one more book in the how to quit your job and make money, usually online, and be your own boss. I have read more than a few of them and I will probably read more. Like many, it's free. However, just because it is one of a number of books of a type and it's free does not make it bad. In this case, it is good. Very good.
Why is it good? Glad you asked. Because unlike most of the genre which promises a lot and delivers little, this book delivers. It also doesn't spend the first half the book saying how great and successful the author is and the last quarter of the book trying to sell you their books, videos, courses, personal consulting and anything thing else they can to make money...for them. There is some of that and it does get off to a slow start which is why I gave it four stars out of five. Like any free book, once it gets going, it is going over the ideas lightly but there is enough information here to gain your interest if the idea is something you know or can learn. It has enough detail to get you thinking and researching whether through the author or others.
The style is friendly and comfortable which helps. It keeps you engaged after the first couple of chapters with real information and real examples. It still ends with the promotion for the author's other material but I consider that the price for a free book. If you are interested in being your own boss and doing your own thing, then there are enough ideas here to give you a start and honest information about what you need and most importantly, how to think about doing this.

A plethora of choices to either supplement or replace your job income.
Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2019Although a short and easy read, this book packs tons of information! Jonathan Green has a unique writing style that teaches you, but doesn't talk down to you. Reading this book is like having a conversation while having a cup of coffee with a mentor. It's straightforward, it makes you examine yourself and your work life, and provides multiple ways (because one size doesn't always fit all) to start out another income stream, or streams if you choose. It touches on the importance of your mindset. It touches on budgeting money for your projects and how to start with little to no money. Then, Jonathan explains how to "brand" yourself to turn your choice or choices into a full time income to replace your job! Success is your choice, but if your are willing to act upon the suggestions in this book, you can eventually Fire Your Boss!

Nothing new here ~ Decent book, but mediocre & repetitive
Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2019I’m beginning to feel as if none of the book reviews on Amazon are legitimate. I keep purchasing books that have an abundance of 5 stars, only to find them worthy of much less. This book is no exception. Having read many books on the subject of passive income; this one is helpful, but by no means great. Most of the information in the book, is readily available on the Internet, and there’s nothing groundbreaking in this short read. I suppose it’s okay if you’re completely new to passive income streams, but for the vast majority of readers; it’s just more of the same old rhetoric found in so many books dealing with how to make money online. This book is average, at best.

My Christmas Shopping For This Year Is Done
Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2023I recently finished the Kindle version of "Fire Your Boss." There has never been a better time to read this book. Most Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck, and huge corporations couldn't care less. As long as their bottom line increases, they're good to go.
But this book gives you concrete steps to take to free yourself from them .
Jonathan Green gives you personal stories of his experiences in free himself from the grind. He gives you the tools to adjust your mindset to become an entrepreneur. And he gives you a number of business models (if I told you how many, what fun would that be? :-) ) that he has employed to basically do whatever he wants with his life.
There's four people who in my family that are getting this for Christmas.

The universe delivered
Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2021I needed a book to listen to while I did my daily morning walk. I am in a crossroads and have been self employed for 20 years. I went through a bad divorce and moved out of state. I need to rebuild and have so many skills I could utilize but after months of researching I haven't taken action yet. Fortunately a lot of the 16 business models discussed in the book were already on my radar to do. But not focusing on one at a time has been my problem. I am learning manifestation and this morning before the book I meditated on getting direction towards my financial goals. I think the universe delivered me this free book this morning. This book is free, took me a hour and half to listen to while exercising and now I feel clarity and ready to take action. Awesome find!

I can’t wait to read this author's other writings!
Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2024This is a fantastic overview of the different types of online and sometimes passive income available. I've been reading a ton of subject matter like this and I think this the most clear and to the point so far. I love to read and I haven't started an income stream yet but this book really breaks it down. There's no excuse for me not to get started right now. I am going to the author's website first though to help narrow down my choices.

Fcpopolo5 out of 5 starsHelpful intro to the e-publishing industry
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 30, 2019Other authors offer lots of free material and lots of books. Yet, very often, I come out of those texts thinking that I need to have money to make money the way they tell the tale, if only to pay for their very expensive courses.
Jonathan works with the stuff he teaches at the pro level. While way above the reach of a beginner, the way he explains it makes it seem scalable from where I am now.
The basic message of this book is, if I can already do something, capitalising it is the quickest way to enter this industry, whether my first book is ready to go out or in a half-baked dream. I can bake it as I walk towards my goals, getting paid at every step of the way, until voilà, I have a cake. The business models covered are based on skills that I will need as an author, either in a do-it-yourself basis or by hiring someone else. No reason, he says, why I could not be the middle man in cases where I have no expertise, introducing experts to clients even when I do not have the means nor the need to do the hiring myself and getting paid for it. That's networking, as simply put by Jonathan. The rest is similar: ideas on how to market my industry-specific skills as I acquire them.
The book, promised to be always free, is not sales-pitchy. Jonathan directs you to his site, mentions free material on the book's contents, his social media and some other bits. In no instance I saw a hard sale being attempted, no links to BUY BUY BUY. That's nice. He's not treating me as a pocket. I am now free to chase his other stuff and try it out. And follow his leads.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I do have other books by the author, which I recommend. And yes, he does reply to emails.

MrChilliBeer5 out of 5 starsA great start to redefining life
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 25, 2019I picked this book up as it was free. Like a lot of people we work jobs that don't excite us and we fantasise of financial independence. This book won't give you that but it will give you the ideas and encourage a mindset that will start you off on the right track.
Jonathan comes up with 16 briefly listed ideas for starting up your own business and I pretty much agree with all of them. The difficulty comes with choosing one of those and sticking to it. I hope to look back on this review in a years time having made some improvements to my own life as a result of the ideas in this book.
It only takes a couple of hours at most to get through this book, it's certainly worth your time.
