Blogging Hiatus

Did I spell hiatus correctly? Not sure, but the little squiggly line that tells me when I spell a word wrong didn't come up, so I must be o.k.

Apparently I have taken a little 3 month blogging hiatus. I really don't know why. I spent the usual time on the computer. I made it through the holidays, I even took pictures (which I have been known to forget the camera to many an important event). I guess life just keeps moving even if I forget to blog or look at other people's blogs. So here goes trying to catch up on three birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Halloween. Wow, now that I'm looking at all that I missed, I might just have to pick up from here. Hmmm... maybe all that is the reason I took a little break??

Jason's Birthday

Jason's birthday was pretty low key this year. Grandma and Grandpa Marks were here visiting and that really was the best reason to party and stick your head in your cake! Jason is growing up fast and seems to be the man of the house. He's a pretty happy kid most of the time and loves soccer and just started Karate. "It's about discipline Mom!" That's what he told me after the second lesson of Karate. I hope Karate continues to be about discipline and less about learning how to beat up his sisters (which was where his original enthusiasm stemmed from when I suggested he might like to take Karate.)

Lydia's Teeth

I'm glad we got Lydia's pictures taken before she got knocked in the mouth! I was looking at her teeth in church today and sure enough, they are going brown. So now, Jason and Lydia will have kindergarten pictures full of brown teeth. Mitchell knocked his around too, but they didn't turn brown. This is sadly my fault. Not only do I have an overbite, but I also had brown baby teeth from falling off the dresser when I was four.

I guess I was just looking at those cute pictures of her I posted and was a little mournful when I saw those pearly whites.

Pictures

A month or so ago, I had my friend Reyna take some pictures of Lydia and Mitchell. I was feeling like a lame mother because the older three kids always had their pictures taken from sears/jcpenney/walmart (wherever was cheapest) on their birthdays and at 6 weeks, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and then each year after that. Well, to put it gently, I completely missed most of Mitchell's pictures and a few of Lydia's. I blame it on the move, but I knew those milestones were coming and then going and I still let it slide. I'm hoping these "real professional" photos make up for my laziness. Reyna did an amazing job!! Thanks Reyna, I owe ya!
