Memorial Day

Memorial Day Family Fun
Image
For Memorial Day I headed to the hometown....La Grande, OR. Not sure why, but my family ALWAYS gets together and I love it. We have more people come than Christmas or Thanksgiving, maybe because we don't have to share this holiday with in laws :). I'm the youngest of 6, the only one without kids and isn't married so it get to be a big gathering when everyone comes! We had everyone but one brother, he had to work, but his wife and son were there representing for their family. Including one in the oven, our family has 27 people in it :) and we know how to have fun too!!Image

Sat we had a huge get together with the family. Four of my aunts and uncles and their family's that were in town came up and had a BBQ lunch on the mountain. My dad and his brothers all own land on the mountain that connects and they all have their own projects going on their property. My dad has been working on a pond and pavilion/cabin. He keeps adding little things here and there, but its awesome!! We had 70 plus people up there on Sat. Between the canyoning on the pond and riding the 8 4-wheelers, everyone was pretty entertained!!

I took Miya up with me and she is still sleeping...no seriously. She probably ran 40+ miles in 3 days haha, her poor feet hurt. And there was only once I lost her for about 45 mins. We went on a 4-wheeler ride and she took a different trail, well when mine meets hers she was gone. She ended up making it over to my uncles came 10 miles away ha. Little brat.

Monday was another mass of family gathering. We ended up keeping busy by building and burning slash piles. Image

Snow Shoeing

Image

So one of my friends at work, Ryan, has been telling me all winter that I should go snow shoeing and take Miya because she would love it. Well I finally had the time and decided to go. I kept saying I didn't want to be cold...well before we even got to where we could put the snow shoes on I was HOT ha. I was really worried that Miya wouldn't stay close so I had a long cable tied around me and to her. That only lasted a few minutes. Once we got out of range of anyone else I decided to take it off because we kept getting all tangled. I was a little scared I wasn't going to have a dog anymore, but she did awesome. There were a few times she'd take off after something and I'd have to yell a few times before she would come back. I was so much happier that I just let her run because she loved it.

Image

She was definitely in her element!! And man did it wear her out...if only I could do that every day so she wouldn't have so much energy all the time :).
Image
It was a fun trip and something I'll have to do more but I still got cold when it was all said and done. When i walked into the house I don't think I've ever hurried into a hot shower like that before ha.

25 random things about Shalece

So since I wrote this once I figured I might as well post it here too.
Here is 25 random things about me...

1 I swore I would never let a dog on my bed, but when Miya got hurt I couldn’t help it once or twice
2 My family literally has to throw a towel in the circle to get their turn to talk.
3 I cry when I laugh.
4 I could eat a whole bag of sweetish fish.
5 Sadly enough I have all 10 seasons of Friends and have watched if from Season 1 Disc 1 to Season 10 Disc 10….a few times.
6 I grew up on a horse ranch with 16+ horses and could ride before I could walk I think.
7 When I do hiccup….I only get one and I’m done.
8 I had a client that reads hand writing tell me they would hire me off my hand writing, they also said I was a perfectionist
9 I don’t care for soda, but man can I kill an energy drink.
10 I used to call it pop growing up in the NW, after going to school in VA I know say it the correct way: Soda.
11 I can’t wait to be a mom! I can’t imagine how much I’ll love them.
12 I’ve been so independent my whole life, on my 1st day of kindergarten I wouldn’t let my mom come in with me. I stopped at the door and told her she’d be okay, turned and walked in my classroom.
13 I used to HATE to be touched.
14 I can hardly sit long enough to watch a half hour show. But when I’m in the bed half falling asleep, eyes blurry, I’ll stay up for a few hours and can’t seem to close my eyes.
15 I was an aunt when I was 10 years old.
16 I love my nieces and nephews more than anything, like they were mine.
17 I like change; it keeps me on my toes.
18 My family is really close, I have 5 aunt and uncles that live in my home town and they all get together once a month for Sunday dinner.
19 I wish I was better at keeping in touch with friends.
20 When I really befriend someone, I’d do just about ANYTHING for them.
21 Just like when you’re 6, my dad is still He-man and can do anything and never does anything wrong.
22 As much as I say I can do things on my own, I’m eternally grateful for the things my parents have taught me and for their support through everything.
23 I make my bed every morning….as soon as I get outta bed.
24 I hate having coins!!
25 I had to renew my license last April and couldn’t bring myself to get and Idaho one. So I went to get another Oregon license, I know have had 3 sent and returned back therefore I am still without a license….all because I didn’t want to become and Idahoan.

Hi friends....I don't know why I feel that I can't post anything unless I have pictures but I do :). I never use my camera anymore, but I do use my phone camera once in awhile. My poor puppy got in a fight with a pit bull....which I'm not a fan of anymore....and he bit her in her chest. I thought it'd be okay, but after a few days she got a big pocket full of fluid. I had to take her into the vet for the 1st time ever. The vet drained more than a cup of blood from her chest :( but i thought that it'd get better soon....so I thought. Today was our 2nd visit back because it filled back up so he put a drain tube in. The best part is that I have a dog on tranquilizers that has to wear a cone till friday when we go back in to get it out.ImageImage
My mom had come up to visit and came with me to the vet's. As we were leaving miya ran the side of the cone into the door way.....and FROZE! OMG I was crying (as most of you know that happens when I am laughing really really hard) trying to get her to come out the door, when I said her name she looked at me with only her eyes like she didn't know what to do. My mom almost fell down laughing so hard and everyone in the office was doing the same ahaha, she said it was worth the trip to see that. She literally didn't move for a minute at least. Then the car right home she was so freaked out that she tried to get as close to me as she could.....Image

I can only image what it looked like from the outside driving by :)

Well basketball is just about over, which I am kind of ready for a fresh start. We have 3 games left and have only won once....kinda rough but we are getting better. It's not great but here is our team picture, I had to take a picture of the picture.Image

There are my 10 daughters....plus 2 more that aren't in the picture. They call me old all the time and its kinda funny.....cause most of them were born when I was almost in middle school hahaha

A little catch up to do :)

These are two of my nieces and I just could resist putting this up here cause they are the cutes little girls and couldnt' be more opposite. Its crazy to think they are sisters, you'd never guess. Image
So I know that I am horrible at this whole keeping up with my life online, but I promise I really do have no time! Basketball is half over.....thankfully haha. I have 12 freshmen girls that aren't what'd I'd call coordinated to say the lest. Ha I mean I know that they are freshmen, but seriously I don't think I have ever been more frustrated in my life and not have any kind of control over it. No coach of mine even in the 3rd grade could have ever been this frustrated with a team that I was on. Well with that said our record isn't looking so hot, but they are learning sllloooowwwly. :) We had a game tonight and for the 1st time in 9 games ran our offence....it was moving haha I was jumping up and down in my high heels and everything. The only damper was that even though we were running the play we couldn't seem to even hit rim. We are taking it one step at a time :) and for those that know me I bet you can imagine how gentle I am with them haha. No they are teaching me some serious patients though. I wish I had some pictures but its kinda hard to take a picture of the girls or myself during the game, but hopefully we will have our team pic soon and I'll put it up here.

As for me, I moved for the 4th time in the last 4 months this last weekend!!!! I know tell me about it. The reason for all of them is too difficult to explain but I am settled in what I hope to be the last place I'm at for a long time. Ha I pray it is anyway ha.
I know this was awhile ago and it's almost Christmas but here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving when I went home to La Grande....pictures are always good no matter when :)Image
This is Miya's favorite spot, she was hanging out watching some football :) ImageMy niece bit her tongue really bad a week before and I had to see, she wasn't cooperating ha ImageThis is my niece Kaylee and she loves and I mean loves my dog, oh and Miya loves right backImage Here they are again, Miya being pulled around and not putting up much fight, she loves kids.
Oh and I'm not promising anything but now that I have Internet back at home I'll try to keep it up :O

I know it has been forever!!!

So I was looking at everyone's blogs and loving all the updates and realized it has been long enough and I needed to post something. My life just isn't very exciting ha. I love seeing what everyone is up to though since we aren't in such a tight circle any more :( which is sad.

I have had a few things change since the last time I blogged. I am now working in a Physical Therapy Office as an assistant/aide for the therapist. It was a good change and I am loving working there. Being able to help people get better is an amazing feeling and is what I've wanted to do. After a finish a few classes I am missing, I'll be going to grad school and get my Doctorial in Physical Therapy....well that is the plan :) and we all now how much plans go our way. Hopefully within the next year I'll be back in school...boo...but I will be so happy to be able to do what I love. And yes I am still doing personal training but am trying to get out of it, they just still need some help till they can hire another trainer.....its been 3 months!!! haha

Basketball will be starting soon, so every evening that I have will be in a gym (how life should be right :). I am excited to start a new season and hopefully I can keep you more posted throughout the season and take a few pictures. Try-outs start monday!!

So since its close to Halloween, I had a little fun.....not quite like the old times back in college :) but here are a few pictures from the party.....
Image
Here are all the kids in there costums before the scavenger hunt infront of the halloween decorations.
Image
Here is Taryn trying to get Calen to hurry up, she would say, "Come on Calen Dog."
Image
They found their treasure in the mound of pumkins that were going to be carved later on.
Image
After the hunt they changed out of their costums so we could eat dinner, didn't want to get them dirty for actual Halloween:). We were waiting for dinner so we were swinging.
ImageGotta love Halloween!!! Here is Beckham with his 1st pumkin caving.

Get outta Boise

So my life has kind of been on the go lately. The last two weekends I have been anywhere but Idaho.

This last weekend of the 27th, was my oldest brother's wedding. He got married in Portland, OR so instead of driving 7 hours there and turn around and drive 7 hours back I decided to fly and it was even cheaper. Big surprise with all the low gas prices :). So I flew there Sat morning and helped out with some touch ups to get ready. My sister Chantelle was making the cake, so I cut the roses for her. She did a really good job, not only did it look amazing it was the best tasting wedding cake. Image
It was good to see all my family, all 5 of my brothers and sisters and their families were there. I am now officially the only member of my family that is not married......and I'm just fine with that :) but it's still kinda funny.Image
After the wedding we went out to eat and then I had to get taken back to the airport cause I was flying home that night as well. When I got back into Boise it was weird cause it didn't feel like I left but the day was almost over. So Sunday I took the day easy and during my free time I played some water volleyball....for awhile. I don't have a picture but my shoulders and everything out of the water is PINK and the lower half is still white. It's a funny sight :). I am paying for it now.

The 19-21 I spent playing basketball in Cedar City, UT for the Utah summer games. It has been a long time since I've played that much ball in that short amount of time, but it was so much fun. I got to play with Lynette, one of my teammates from SVU and we almost placed; we lost by three and took 4th. On the way home, I stopped in Provo and hung out with one of my bff's Shawna Gunn and her boyfriend, Brian. It was a change from basketball and a good one. We went to Comedy Sportz, which is a stand up improv show. It was hilarious and then we spent the rest of the evening bowling and watching a movie. The weekend was a lot of fun and much needed to get away from Boise for awhile.ImageImage
