Share the Well…

A couple of years ago a friend and I were looking to buy a new CD. So we picked up one by Caedmon’s Call named “Share the Well.” We bought it (pretty much only because there were 17 tracks on it). But it. was. awesome. The band wrote this CD on trips they went to around the world… India, Brazil, Ecuador, and some others. There is this one song that really struck a chord (pun intended) with me.

It is about the Caste System in India. There, the Dalits (or Untouchables) are the lowest class of people. Because of this, they are not allowed to draw water from the well. They have to wait there until someone else comes and literally shares the well with them. The band took the meaning a step further, urging listeners to share the deep love of Jesus.
