TM SIM Registration

TM SIM registration is mandatory for all users, including both prepaid and postpaid subscribers. A SIM card will remain in a default deactivated state and cannot be activated without completing the registration process.

Only after successful registration will the SIM be activated and allowed to access mobile services. The entire SIM registration process is completely free of charge for all users.

The SIM Registration Act also covers eSIMs, allows multiple SIM ownership with separate registration, ensures free registration, protects user data privacy, and requires telecom providers to deactivate fraudulent or unregistered SIMs while maintaining strict security and reporting standards.

TM SIM Registration Methods

There are three different methods available to register a TM/Globe SIM card. You can choose any method according to your convenience. I have been a regular TM SIM user for a long time and have completed the TM SIM registration process several times. Below is a detailed tutorial, along with images, on how to register a TM SIM card.

1 TM Register SIM Via Portal 

Here is the step-by-step guide to register the SIM using the TM official portal:

Step 1: Visit the Official TM SIM Registration Website

Go to the official SIM registration portal, by clicking button below:

On the homepage, you will see the SIM registration steps:

  • Verify your mobile number
  • Choose your SIM registration type
  • Provide your ID and selfie
  • Fill out the registration form
  • Review and submit

Click Continue to proceed.

Step 2: Verify Your Mobile Number

Enter the TM mobile number you want to register (starting with 09).
Tick the checkbox and click Request PIN.

You will receive a One-Time PIN (OTP) via SMS.
Enter the OTP and click Continue.

Step 3: Read the Registration Guidelines

You will see important reminders:

  • If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must register the SIM
  • Business-owned numbers must be registered by an authorized representative
  • Prepare one valid government-issued ID with a clear photo

After reading, click Continue.

Step 4: Choose Your Registration Type

Select the option that best describes you.
For example, choose “I am a Filipino SIM owner”, then click Continue.

Step 5: Upload Your ID and Take a Selfie

Follow the on-screen guidelines for uploading your ID and taking a selfie.
Make sure:

  • The ID photo is clear and readable
  • All details are visible

Scan your ID using your camera.
Once the system confirms “Document analysis succeeded”, click Continue.

Next, follow the selfie instructions.
When the selfie is approved, click Continue.

Step 6: Provide Personal Information

Your basic details such as name, birthdate, and gender may be auto-filled from your ID.
Complete the required fields, especially your address details:

  • House or lot number
  • Province
  • City
  • Barangay

Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.
Double-check all details, then click Continue.

Step 7: Review and Confirm

Review your registration summary to make sure all information is correct.
Tick the confirmation box and click Confirm.

The system will process your registration.

Step 8: Registration Successful

Once completed, you will see the message:
“Your SIM is now registered.”

A reference number will be shown.
Make sure to save or screenshot this reference number for future use.

You will also receive a confirmation SMS from 8080.
After registration, your TM SIM will be activated, and you can now use calls, texts, and mobile data.

2 Register SIM card TM Via App

The SIM card registration TM process via the app is almost the same as the portal. However, a step-by-step tutorial is provided below for your ease:

  1. First of all, download the GlobeOne app on your mobile phone. 
  2. After the app is downloaded successfully, create your account.
  3. In the bottom right corner of the home page, you will find the Registration button. Click on that button to start TM registration SIM. 
  4. Enter your TM SIM registration number carefully and ensure its accuracy. Click on the verify button to get OTP.  
  5. You will receive an OTP on the provided TM SIM registration number. Enter the OTP and verify your number. 
  6. Once the number is verified, you will get a registration form. Fill the form with the required details and complete it.
  7. Now select your ID type and upload a clear image of it.
  8. Upload your selfie for face verification. 
  9. Once the form is completed and the images are uploaded, review the information carefully. Make sure that the provided details are accurate according to the official documents. 
  10. Click on the submit button and submit the form. On the submission, you will get a reference number. Save the number for future use. 

I registered my TM SIM in March 2023 using the GlobeOne app. The OTP arrived after about 40 seconds, and my first selfie was rejected due to low light.

3 SIM Register TM In Store

If you are uncomfortable with online TM registration SIM, offline SIM registration TM is also available. You can also TM register in Globe stores. Here is how you can register your SIM easily in a few simple steps:

  1. First of all, visit your nearest Globe store and bring the required documents along with you.
  2. Ask the attendees to register the TM SIM card. 
  3. The attendant will assist you in TM registering SIM card. 

Note: If you want to register more than one SIM card, you can register under your name. Repeat the above steps to register each SIM. 

I have been a regular TM SIM user for a long time and have experienced TM SIM registration several times.  I recommend registration via the TM SIM registration link (new.globe.com.ph.simreg) as it’s comparatively simple. However, all three methods are safe and contain a few simple steps. You can use any of the above methods according to your preference.

Tip For Successful Registration

The TM SIM registration process does not contain any complex things. However, there are small things that you should keep in mind. Here are the tips that I always follow to register my TM and Globe SIMs without any issue:

  • Always provide the valid and up-to-date details according to your official documents. Do not use invalid details such as government-issued ID and name to avoid errors and penalties. 
  • Always upload a valid and clear image of your ID. The selfie must be fresh. Keep in mind that the maximum acceptable size of the image is 2 MB. 
  • Make sure that your SIM card is inserted properly. If it is not properly inserted, you will not receive the OTP. If you are a wifi user, click on the “Click here” link next to the OTP box to get OTP. 
  • Always use the TM SIM Registration legit link and official app for registration SIM card TM. Any third-party app or link can lead to serious errors. 
  • Contact the TM SIM support in case of any issue. The support will guide you to overcome the issue.

How To Check Registration Status?

Once you have submitted the SIM registration TM form, you can check the status. You can check whether your SIM is registered in four different ways. The details are as follows:

Check Via the Portal

  1. First of all, go to the official portal. 
  2. Enter your mobile number. 
  3. You will receive an OTP that shows whether the SIM is registered or not.

Check Via App

  1. Open the GlobeOne app. 
  2. Log in to your account using the username and password. 
  3. You will get the registration status on the home screen of the app. 

Check Via TM Registration Number  

  1. Open your message app, type “SMERG” and send it to the TM Registration number (8080).
  2. Wait a few seconds for the response. 
  3. A confirmation message will be sent to you: “ Your SIM is registered”. If you do not receive a message, it means that your SIM is still not registered. 

Check in stores 

  1. Visit your nearest Globe store and ask them to check your registration status.
  2. They will ask you to provide a few details. Provide them with the details.
  3. You will get your status in a few seconds.

You can use any of the above methods to check the TM SIM registration status. You can choose any of the methods according to your preference. Keep in mind that each method is secure.

Note: If the status shows that your SIM is not registered, wait for a day before contacting Globe support. Check the status again, and hopefully, the SIM will be registered.

Requirements for SIM Registration TM

The requirements of SIM register TM depend on the registration type. The requirements for Filipino citizens, minors, corporations, and foreigners are different. The complete list of requirements is given below:

  • Phone Number 
  • Full Name
  • Address
  • Birthday
  • Government ID with picture and ID number 
  • Proof that all information is correct
  • Gender

Note: For minors, the SIM will be registered with the details and IDs of the guardian. Therefore, the IDs and information of the guardian are required to register a TM  SIM for minors.

  • Official Name of the Representative
  • List of Mobile Numbers to be Registered
  • SEC or DTI Certificate of Registration
  • BIR Certificate or Form 2303
  • Board Resolution or Secretary’s Certificate

The requirements for foreigners depend on the type. However, the complete list of requirements is as follows:

  • Return or onward ticket with departure date and time

 Foreign Residents

  • Full Name

  • ACRI-Card (Alien Certificate of Registration ID)
  • Official ID from the visa-granting authority
  • Work Permit (for employed foreigners)

  • Legal travel documents from the Department of Justice (for POCs)
  • Foreign Missions or Embassy Documents (if applicable)
  • Official Name of the Representative
  • SUCs (State Universities and Colleges) Documents (if applicable)

Note: The SIM that is registered for foreigners will remain activated for 30 days only. It will be automatically deactivated after 30 days.

FAQs

Visit the https://simreg.globe.com.ph/, enter your number, submit your details, upload your ID and selfie, and save the reference number. Your TM SIM will be registered within 24 hours.

To check your TM SIM registration status, type SIMERG and send it to 8080. You will get a response that shows whether your SIM is registered or not.

For TM SIM activation, first register your SIM card. Once the SIM is successfully registered, your SIM will be activated automatically within a few minutes.

The deadline to register the old SIM was  December 27, 2022. However, you can still buy and register a new TM SIM anytime.
