Happy St. Patricks Day!!

I don't know why, but sometimes the more obscure holidays are my favorite! I have really loved St. Patty's day these last few years....is it because of the pinching? The green food? The naughty leprechaun that sneaks in at night painting our fingernails green?  Who knows. This year was no exception.  I had fun getting the kids all decked out in green.  Thank you Target dollar spot!

The boys even wore these to school! Adam was a little hesitant, but I told him to just "rock it!" and
people would think he was cool. He called me about 10:00 in the morning and said "by the way, I took off
all that stupid stuff you made me wear! Everyone was laughing at me."  I tried to explain they were laughing
WITH him, not AT him.....but I'm not sure he bought it.

Sam, on the other hand, wore it all day long and even got a blue slip for his festiveness.....(that's a good thing)

The naughty leprechaun painted all the kids' fingernails.  He thought about doing just the toes, but
those get hidden by shoes and socks!

and our green dinner (I just added a little coloring to the stroganoff sauce).  When I was little, my mom once made green gravy for dinner. I don't know what it was about that gravy in particular, maybe how dark green it was, but I've barely eaten gravy since. Now,  I'm the one who gets to gross my kids out!! Thanks mom!

What's St. Patty's day without a little drinking? I got to finish off the night enjoying this yummy Lime slush at my American Idol party. (of course it's non-alcoholic)  Who needs alcohol to have a good time???

2010 in a few nutshells

This is for all my fans out there (all three of you) who keep wondering WHAT is going on with the Smoots these days? Well, here are a few of the fun things that have been going on in our family this past year.

Will turned ONE on April Fools Day! He. doesn't. like. hats. That's what all this fuss is about. Not even his love for the cake could make him forget about that darn head topper. Don't worry though, once the hat was finally pulled off the merrymaking continued and the cake was consumed.

Will has such a fun personality and it has been a great year watching him grow and develop.

I have picture after picture of Abi and her outfits. They just keep getting better and better. Swimsuits and PJ's are the staples to her wardrobe. Add in some hats, tights and tutu's and we've got the complete look.

She often will reject the adorable outfit/hairbow/shoes ensemble I pick out, and wear whatever suits her fancy that day. If it's an important destination (like church) I force encourage her to wear clothing that matches and covers her unmentionables. More often she leaves the house looking similar to these photos. Most people smile at me with that knowing look of, "Yeah, you've gotta let them express themselves."

Others might just wonder if she's alright in the head.  Image

It's about time

Wow, so clearly I'm not much of a blogger. (yet) For some reason I'm feeling like adding another post. I'm not sure I can remember how! I'm feeling so crazy right now I may even go open a Facebook account.

We've had a great year with the addition of William Troy Smoot to our family! Here are some pictures of him.

Adam got baptized earlier this month. When did we get so old?

Sam's blond curls still make me smile!

And here's Abi, my true girl of summer. She ALWAYS wants to wear her swimming suit, even to sleep in, and asks me every day if we can go "fwimming"
