cool vs Cool
This is my first blog post in about 11 years. Metaverse may need a separate post to fully digest - it's offensive and hilarious in so many ways that I want to spend some time on it. But, for the moment, it has me thinking about the difference between cool and Cool and how much cyberpunk/scifi influenced my opinions on those topics. You see, I'm sure a lot of people inside the Facebook bubble think Metaverse is cool, because it sounds cool. And, in some ways, it does sound cool. Do I want a virtual house I can decorate? Sure. That sounds lovely. But it's not Cool, which I'm capitalizing here to distinguish between the kind of "ok cool" reaction we have to things which are actually just nice, or positive, or pretty, and the kind of Cool which is a completely different category of thing.
