Conference was amazing. But here's what made it even better:
1. My dear friend Desiree was singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir- I looked for her constantly and did find her--you all probably saw her too, she was the gorgeooooso and beautiful red head in the back.
2. I really felt that many of the talks spoke to me and helped me be a better in person in my marriage, family, and work relationships- what more could I ask??
3. I got to hear the prophets speak. I am in awe that a prophet of the Lord was speaking and yet the secular world has no idea, I want to shout it out my window and tell everyone I know, but I try and get no where.
4. I paid better attention than usual because I found that working with my hands-aka making jewelry- keeps me busy/ awake/ but also fully able to listen.
I made a few pieces and over my spring break learned how to make earrings and dangly things so I had fun practicing.
Matt's on spring break this week and he is enjoying relaxing and catching up on some tv, video games, and other leisure activities!! Lov

Spring Break
This coming week is my spring break. Matt is still in classes and has a short break in a couple weeks between terms. His term schedule is so strange. He is really enjoying his current classes, except for the physics. But he's doing great in his power systems class- which is his major- so I'm glad he loves it. He should start doing a coop in July we are hoping so he's been applying for those! We hope he gets the best one and prays that whichever one he gets will be wonderful and will be able to hire him when school is over. We are just so excited that he gets paid for this so that we can replenish our savings. It took a huge hit over Christmas time, it was like once we starting buying presents, we just couldn't stop, jk!!
At school this week we had a spring concert. The K-3 classes sang some songs, like a mini musical, that the music teacher put together. She's an amazing teacher, my school is really lucky that it has the most amazing teachers I've ever seen in my years of school experience. This concert was soooooo cute. The kids came all dressed up in their designer clothes -- its funny how the culture is so different, they may not eat, but they have designer duds-- and sang the cutest songs "how does your garden groove." I videoed it on my awesome digital camera and showed it to them the next day. They all felt like super stars. The director of the school announced they plan to renovate the elementary wing. The will be knocking down all the walls in the wing and building up "normal" sized classrooms that are square. They will be putting in new heating and cooling systems and windows. We are so excited for this change because he will be adding classrooms in hope of growing our elementary. Its exciting that our school is going to get a little bigger when most schools around here are firing and cutting back. The Lord surely blessed me with the most perfect job imaginable. lov

More from first grade
"Mrs. Green, if you ever break up with your husband I just want you to know love hurts, and you only get one chance at love."
This week I fell in vomit, it was all down the back of me. Luckily an understanding administrator send me home to clean up real quick. Good thing I live close.
We had a "lockdown" Friday. A bullet was found in the school, they searched all the lockers, bookbags, and 6th-12th grade students. It made me think just how scary working at a school like this can be. It also made me think of how I should be prepared with food in my room because it was lunch time and keeping 18 "starving" first graders quiet and happy is not easy.
Saturday I tutor at the schools for extra pay. Sometimes though the older kids I tutor are so rude and when I got home I just cried and vented. Matt is amazing though, he said the most perfect things and helped me rise up stronger from this. Along with the gospel, Matt is the greatest most perfect thing in my life. He's doing great at school. I love seeing him happy and telling me all sorts of things about technical electrical stuff that I have no clue what it is. But he's so happy. Its been a while since he's been this happy. He's loving his chosen field and will most likely begin the coop work this July! Ya, money!!!!

First Grade Rocks!!
So I overheard a conversation between some of my students talking about black people and white people. (we have been studying black history month, so maybe that's how this came up)
Student 1 "There are no white people in this entire class. At least not all-white people"
student 2 "Well, there is Mrs. Green."
Student 1 "Nuttaah, Mrs. Green IS A MIX."
Hey I wasn't about to but in and tell them otherwise, maybe being a "mix" gives me street-cred. (For all you white people: Street-cred is a good thing!)
I just love the funny things they say. Another one, "Mrs. Green if there are white people and black people, then what are the Chinese people?"
Another one, "Mrs. Green is your hair real or is it a weave?" They still don't believe me that its real.

Robbed at Church
So I was robbed at church today. I was covering the nursery and had left my belongings in the primary room. When I went to go get my stuff, my purse was all open and exposed. I couldn't think how it had gotten that way, but dismissed it. Later when I went to look for my coin purse and red zippered pouch, they were gone. Matt called our Bishop, who called the bishop who was still there. This bishop had an idea of who had done it. Sure enough he found the "slippery" fingered young lady and retrieved my coin purse and red zippered pouch. However, she had managed to steal my nail clippers, chap stick, and gum, from inside my two missing pieces.
I got the two things back, but now need more gum, chap stick, and nail clippers.

Stomach and sleep
I don't know what's up with my stomach. For months now it just churns and churns at night. It wakes me up, makes me sleep bad, and i get really hot. So today I was up at 2:00 could fall back to sleep but I laid there for 1 hour. At 3 I gave up and got up. Did some dishes, cooked some food for a work breakfast thing, watched some tv. Finally round 4:40 I slept till 5:20. Put away some dishes that had dried by now, finished cooking for the work breakfast. Did those dishes, still bored, decided to check my email. Then... yes, blog. I've not been good at this lately. Sorry.

Family
Matt and I were completely surrounded by family all holiday season long. It was great and it really reminded me about what's really important in life. I am still waiting for photos from the West side of the family- we had a reunion from my mom's side and of course forgot my camera. But this one here shows our Ohio family. What a marvelous time we had sharing a few precious moments with them and all our other family!
