Dark At Three Dylan Halbroth Dark At Three is the alias of Dylan Halbroth, a Berlin based multi-instrumentalist and producer whose aim is to transcend genre boundaries by blending his rock and metal influence with modern electronic music production. Misusing stereotypical instrumentation, structure, and production techniques to create unusual sounds and cinematic soundscapes, he draws inspiration from the complex variety of human emotion. Having grown up in Hong Kong, Dylan started his musical journey playing guitar and with age, added bass to his musical roster. At age 17, he joined Hong Kong alternative rock band, Asyndeton, whose debut EP “The Other Side Of My Mind” rose to #2 on the Hong Kong iTunes Chart. Two months after joining the band, they landed themselves on the roster of Hong Kong’s largest music festival, Clockenflap, joining a lineup of artists including Massive Attack, The Prodigy, and Stormzy. Since moving to Berlin, under Dark At Three, he aspires to blend audio and visual elements with every project, using mediums such as photography and light design, which can be seen with his debut release, Against The Dying Light. The debut EP focuses on the struggles of poor mental health, while attempting to raise awareness of how it impacts others, and those in the creative industry. Each song represents a certain emotion or mental illness, with some depictions appearing abnormal to the stereotype of the emotion, driving home the fact that no two people experience mental illness the same. The project takes the listener on a journey from the early acknowledgement of mental illness, to accepting it and not letting the light die out.
