South African Hip Hop Recording artist: Jermaine Johnson aka Dizzy born on 1 August 1991. Slogan: Living a passion, creating change Vision To have my music express my passion whilst simultaneously serve as a vehicle through which life’s challenges is expressed creatively, utilizing the core thereof to bring about positive change. Mission To paint a global picture by taking people on relatable journeys through my communities’ life experiences, via rhythmic music expressed, as a Cape Townian Hip Hop Artist who is real and committed to representing my city of birth. About DizzyCPT I am a South African Hip Hop Recording Artist hailing from Lavender Hill/Steenberg/Retreat, an area in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. My chief influences as the hip hop artist came about during time spent listening to school friends. My love for making music was revealed and I decided to become a local rapper in 2010. During this period I had about 5% sight and had to undergo a cornea transplant. I knew I had to persevere and I was determined to use this challenge to the best of my ability. Since it took about a year for my eye to accept the cornea, I decided to write music and stories as I slowly regained my vision. Friends and family starting to observe my talent invigorated me even further to honing my musical talents as a rapper and Dizzy was born! Prior 2017 I gained recognition as a rapper after releasing my first mix tape Progression in 2011. I performed all around Cape Town, did a couple of radio interviews and performed on the SABC 2 TV Show: HecticNine9 in which I won the "Shine 99" competition in 2013. As a result of all the exposure, I continued to release more songs relaying varying stories which people started downloading and commenced sharing it. One of my greatest achievements is the cover track for Akas track, called ‘Run Jozi’ which received more than 45k plays on soundcloud. LOOKING AHEAD 2017 saw the start of a greater, new adventure as I began to seriously concentrate my efforts on my music career. Being managed resulted in the launch of my debut track 'Better Days' live on #FindingTheHype #101 Dizzy on The Hype on Good Hope FM which made number 2 on the GoodHopeFM Charts.
