Amelia's Dance Class

Image
Image
Amelia's dance class put on a little show for the parents. This video makes me laugh because it is the story of my life these days as I drag the trio everywhere I go. You can hear whines from both of my children (we were all trying to share one seat) before I finally gave up on video. However, there is a brief moment when you can see Amelia's adorable tap dance. Amelia is the blondie with a bun third person in. The pictures (much simpler to take than video
when juggling children) shows the ballet portion of the class.

Tiger Scouts

Image
Caleb, my little Tiger Scout, received his Bobcat merit badge. Apparently, this is a big deal and includes some symbolic face painting. Caleb was very proud. He and his buddy Jacob received their awards on the same night.

Laughs with Livvy

Livvy, who is turning out to be as feminine as Amelia, opened up a large, new, and expensive jar of aquaphor. She worked very hard to beautify every inch of her body. Most of it ended up in her hair. She came to show me, so proud of her accomplishment, saying "Mommy, see pretty." It was a mess to say the least, and yet another of those parenting moments when all you can do is choose whether to laugh or cry. With Livvy's proud grin and globs of goop dripping off her face it was easy to see the humor in the situation. After giving her a bath and scraping out as much of the aquaphor from her head as I could, she was still a mess. That is when I took these pictures. We had a lot of fun with her hair which took 2 days and several baths to get back to normal.

Christmas Pageant

Here are my superstars. Amelia and Livvy rocked thier babies very gently and Caleb the shepherd (white robe, white and black head) went to Bethlehem to see baby Jesus. It was a great show.

Santa

This was an activity at the Y (our new family hang out--we LOVE it there). They had storytime, crafts, and snacks with Santa Claus. And despite how is may appear, Caleb had fun too. On the other hand, Livvy was not having fun, saying repeatedly, "Santa, scared." She kept a very careful distance from the jolly old man until she discoved that he gave candy to all the children who went to see him. That was when she decided "Santa, nice" and inched her way towards him for some candy. However, once she had her prize she ran far away and did not go near him again

Lake Carolina Christmas

Image
We have been doing a lot of fun Christmas activities, even though it is not the same with out Spence. This shows us on a carriage ride to see the lights in Lake Carolina. We thought it was so cold with the temperature in the 50's until I remembered how cold December nights are in Utah.

Flag Football

Image
This is how a bunch of 6 year olds play football (if you can call it football). Caleb is in the middle getting ready to put the ball in play.

Fun Run

Image
Keeping in mind the motto learned in my youth, that Lamberts have a "run track mind," my children ran their first race. The Governors' Cup Kids Fun Run was a lot of fun, they were especailly proud of their medals.

Halloween

Image
We had a lot of fun this Halloween. All the children in the neighborhood came to our house after school for a party. Then we ate at a friends house followed by trick-or-treating. The weather was beautiful; I made my children wear long sleeves under their costumes, but they were too warm. I couldn't help but recall those traumatic halloween memories of covering my amazing costume with a winter coat, and the joy of reaching the Crosby's house where we could go inside and have a brief respite from the cold while eating a hot scone.
