Version 1.0.15

Sprich overview

Sprich is a native macOS dictation app that turns speech into clean, ready-to-use text anywhere on your Mac. Both the speech-to-text and the AI cleanup run on-device: Whisper transcribes your voice and a local model removes filler, fixes structure, and matches the tone of the app you're typing in. Audio stays in memory, is never written to disk, and never leaves your Mac, so it also works fully offline. You can optionally use a cloud model with your own API key.

Features
  • On-device speech-to-text and AI text cleanup (Whisper plus a local model on Apple Silicon).
  • Works fully offline; audio is never written to disk or sent to a server.
  • Three modes, switchable with one keystroke: Literal for clean transcription, Formal for polished writing, and Custom with your own system prompt.
  • Optional cloud models with your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Gemini, Deepgram); keys stored in the macOS Keychain.
  • One global hotkey works in any macOS app; text is pasted at your cursor.
  • 15 languages with automatic detection.
  • Notarized, with signed automatic updates.

What's new in version 1.0.15

Paste reliability + glossary/Formal correctness
  • Pasting is reliable under load — long dictations always land in the target app, even when the Mac is busy (fixes a clipboard-restore race that could let a dictation silently vanish).
  • Learned corrections always stick — taught words/spellings (e.g. "Schäfer") are now applied in Formal mode too; a rewrite can't undo them.
  • Formal mode is consistent — the same dictation no longer occasionally reverts to the raw literal in AI chats / task tools (per-surface length floor; run-to-run LLM length variance no longer trips it).
  • Multilingual Formal — German (and other non-English) dictations stay in their language instead of reverting to literal.
  • "Didn't catch that" hint — a clearly-intended but silent recording now surfaces a notice instead of doing nothing.
