November Flies

November has been moving quick. Hard to believe it's already almost Thanksgiving.
We're excited to have daddy home.
Everything has been going well. We're all sick with a nasty cold. The boys had a cough for two weeks before that. I feel like we've been inside sick all month.
Boys are growing fast. I took Kaleb in for an appointment the end of October. He's 26 pounds and Xander is 21.
They seem to learn new things every day. And get into trouble and make messes faster than I can clean up the first mess.ImageMy parents have a solarium in their house. Kaleb has been in trouble several times for throwing the dirt and rocks all over the house. My dad brought in the potted plants for the winter. Soon after Kaleb walked by with dirt all over his hands and face. I asked him if he had been in the dirt. Noooo - I went in to discover he had dumped the dirt out of one of the plants. Filled a heater vent, and probably had a great time.
Kaleb has been figuring out how to ride his bike.

ImageI dug my old red wagon out of my parents shed. Kaleb loved going for a walk to the park.
ImageKaleb also helped me make a birthday cake. Licking the frosting coated beaters was the best part.
ImageImageHe loves having the cereal cupboard in his reach. He walks around with a box of cereal. I often find them in weird places. Or Kaleb hiding and eating it. Maybe we should all sit on the bathroom scale while we eat?
ImageWe went to a baby shower for my sister-in-law. Her little girl is due anytime.

ImageMy brother and his wife. Anxiously waiting to meet their little girl Anna.

All us sisters went out to lunch. Only missing the one that lives in Austria. I'm sure glad I'm back in the area so I don't miss these fun times.
ImageThe boys keep me on my toes but also keep me laughing.
Kaleb has decided a bowl is a very nice accessory. He wears it whenever he he can.
Image
ImageThe boys had an apple for lunch. There was a piece left so I offered it to the dog Tucker. He chomped then it fell out of his mouth. Kaleb scooped it up and took a bite. Xander took it from him and ate. Then they offered another bite to the dog. Ewww

ImageThis is the second time in the same day Xander dumped out cereal. You think I would learn the first time.
ImageI have to laugh that both boys rock themselves to sleep in the same way. They also rock out during the day.

This year has really flown by. I hope you all enjoy your holidays. Gobble until you wobble.

Party Animals

Welcome to Utah. The place of bi-polar weather.

ImageKaleb woke up one morning, looked out the window and said "yuck! cold! brrr"
Very little time passed before the hot sun came out and warmed us all up. All this snow was gone by the afternoon.
ImageSunday we enjoyed a family dinner. The boys were fascinated with their newest cousin. She is pretty amazing and adorable!
Kaleb stares at her whispering "baby, baby, baby"

ImageMonday night we went to a pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins.

Image
ImageWe went to our first party later in the week.
I dug a costume out of the box. Grandma bought costumes for the boys. I am uncreative (or, I just have no energy) and went for store bought.

I'm pretty sure Kaleb is actually a dragon but he was determined it was a dinosaur.

There were lots of games to play. Grandpa taught Kaleb how to fish

My beautiful sister-in-law
ImageFriday we stopped at another sister-in-law's work place, I didn't even get pictures :-( We went cubicle trick-or-treating. The boys went away very hyper with a heavy bag of candy.
We went to my parents house for more parties.
ImageI looked out the backyard window and found Kaleb drinking from a bird bath. It was full of dirt, rocks, and leaves. Yuck! He was slurping and saying "aaaah" Pretty soon he started bobbing for the rocks...

Another church party with my family.

ImageWe danced to music...
Kaleb really enjoyed the music. He started with a hiney shake, then really got in the groove, feelin' the music. I have a feeling Kaleb will be very musically talented when he is older. He loves music, especially singing.

...and ate lots more candy
ImageIt was raining pretty good so we went trick-or-treating at the mall. We got there a little late. Most of the stores were out of candy. We didn't need any anyway. There were so many people in the mall. It was fascinating seeing everyone in their costumes. Lots of good ideas for next year...if I remember them.
My mom, Kaleb, and a sister
ImageOne of the toy stores had a train set up. Kaleb was enthralled. He stood and watched it for quite a while.
ImageImageImageImageSunday night we went to my sisters for dinner, I forgot to pull out my camera :-( It sure is fun to pack 20 people in an 800 square foot house. My sister is an amazing chef and fixed fabulous stuffed squash. I would normally turn my nose up at such a thing. But oh my, y-u-u-mmmm, it was so very good! And then a homemade doughnut hot out of the grease, not much can get better than that. Unfortunately Xander was really grumpy. We didn't last long. He wasn't feeling 100% He threw up all over me during church...that's a fun story. I'm sure you really don't want the gory details though.
That's all for now. We're all partied out and need to take a break. We sure missed daddy being here. This is the second Halloween he has missed. It was really hard not being with him.
Only 17 more days and we will be together again!
As we come upon the busy holiday season remember to not get overwhelmed and take advice from two little boys...just chill...
(or Kaleb might be saying, "hey babe, what's up?")
