Yup, that about covers it. I am so exited to finally be seeing signs of spring. Birds flitting around. Snow is melting. And the boys have puddles to jump in - yippee! It was still nippy outside but all they wanted was to jump in puddles. I drug them screaming into the house after almost an hour because their extremities were blue. After a warm bath and hot chocolate they wanted to go out and do it again.
On a side note, I can't believe Jake only has 2 weeks left of school. It seems like this semester went crazy fast. He has done so well in all his classes. Just get him through these last few weeks and we will be free to play for a whole summer - yeeeeaaahhh
Everything has been going so well. Life is better than good. Now that we're FINALLY not sick anymore we all went to church yesterday. Both boys went to nursery. It was so nice and peaceful. I was able to really enjoy and listen to some amazing lessons.
Not much going on. Just anxious to throw open the windows and start living outside all day.

Help
Stuck
Yeah, I'll rescue you eventually.
First, I have to take a picture.
Then, I have to pause and ask, what in the world?
How?
The boys are funny and fun to hang out with on a daily basis.

Germs and Laughs
We've been sick the past almost 4 weeks. Somehow Jake has managed to avoid it all. Just when I think everyone is getting better the boys would start coughing or sneezing. Yesterday we planned to take the boys just to Sacrament meeting since they were a bit stuffed up but seemed to be doing a little better. Jake ended up taking the boys home after about 45 minutes. Xander started getting a fever that was getting worse. He was up a lot last night coughing and thus crying because I think the coughing was hurting him. As this sleep deprived mama held her little feverish boy I felt so blessed. I am grateful I can be here for the boys. That I can calm and comfort them and help them feel better.
I am grateful that amidst the snot, coughing, fever, and whatever else, we still find time to laugh and have fun.I'm curious, at what temp outside can we no longer blow bubbles? Would they freeze?
The weather has been pretty nice. Rainy but not too bad, the snow is pretty much melted. The driveway and practically everywhere, has turned to mushy soup.
Xander and his bed hair was making me giggle. The boys were being very funny and playing nice (shocking, I know. It does happen every once in a while). I was trying to get a picture of them since they were both gut laughing. About 15 pictures with Kaleb squinting or eyes shut. Xander looks good in all of them. Kaleb can't seem to have his eyes open for a picture.
I found a toddler game on the computer that's just about tapping and typing random keys. It teaches the alphabet, colors, shapes, etc. The boys love it and have also been learning valuable skills like using the computers nicely or you are done. And asking mommy and daddy for permission before touching.
I got a much needed break and went out for a girls night to play farkle - hilarious dice game when you are playing with crazy loud ladies.
The boys helped me make chocolate and peanut butter cookies to bring. I then combined the two doughs for a marbled cookie that wasn't too bad.
Happiness is a cookie dough covered beater in each hand.I learned an important lesson girls night. I called my visiting teaching companion and 2 of the 3 sisters I visit to invite them. I didn't call another because, "she's in a different stage of life, her kids are grown, she won't care"
Show up for girls night and one of the girls asked if I had invited so-and-so. I mumbled no. Oh, she loves farkle. I'll call her right now. She's on her way over, she can't wait.
That's when I realized how quickly I tend to judge and assume. I need to embrace the differences in others and find the similarities. I can't do that if I put them in different categories and treat them differently.
Hoping we are all better by next week.
