Birthday boy!

 Hello All!  Winston here!  Today (September 2!) I am celebrating my birthday.  Mom is doing a quick post because she is tired and a tiny bit grumpy!  But I'm not going to let that stop me from whooping it up!  I am hoping for extra treats, cuddles and perhaps even a new scratch post.

 Hello!  Winston here.  Mom is letting me enjoy the koi app on her iPad.  I like to watch those plump fishes!

 We hope everyone is well!  Mom continues on with her long walks!  Some days she has to plan her walks between rain breaks.  Usually, when that happens she ends up getting caught in a rain shower.  She gets wet and then her sandals make dreadful squelching noises that bother us!

 Mom saw this fabulous colouring book in the drug store.  She said that she had to stifle a squeal of delight.  Goodness, Mom, we can tell you are not getting out much these days!

 Hello from Emily.  I enjoy my 16 hours a day naps.  Keeping Mom in line is exhausting!

 Winston here again.  We hope everyone had a chance to relax a bit this weekend.  You need to be gentle with yourself.  Emily and I don't understand why people are always on the go!  You need to recharge your batteries in order to keep your felines happy!

Nip and Chippies and Us!

 Good day!  Winston here.  We hope everyone is managing.  Our Mom continues to try and adapt to the new normal.

 The lilies of the valley were pretty while they lasted.  We had some very summery weather recently and they didn't last too long.  Mom made sure to enjoy them while she could.

 Mom says she misses the small things.  She hasn't had a scone and warm beverage with a friend since early March.  However, there are still other things to enjoy!

 She likes to visit Francis several times a week.  The little guy lives in a park-like setting.  This makes Emily and I quite sad.  We would love to see these little rodents when we look out our window.  We are thankful we get to see a parking lot, though.  Also a few trees.  Sometimes we see sparrows and crows fly by our window.

 Gosh, Winston, you are chatty today.  It is my turn to talk a bit.  Mom says she sometimes talks to Francis but all he really wants is the peanut she brings him.  Silly Mom.  Perhaps the more than 12 weeks in self-isolation is getting to her?  Don't worry.  Winston and I keep her grounded.  Nothing like a fur ball on the carpet to keep your human involved with reality!

A Quick Hello

Hello from Winston.  I am very tired.  Trying to get Mom to play with me at 4 in the morning is exhausting!  Don't worry, though, as I plan on getttin some extra naps in during the day!

 Mom goes for a walk every day.  Recently she saw this butterfly on a lilac bush.  She thinks it is a Swallow Tail.  She said butterflies are beautiful.

Grumpy purrs from Emily.  I am giving Winston the What For.  He is always trying to boss me around but I won't stand for it!  This is why I'm looking so fierce and puffy.

Tidy Cats in Quarantine

 Happy Friday!  Winston kitty here.  I believe it is important to maintain my high standard of cleanliness even during these trying times!

 We hope everyone is coping as best they can.  Mom tries to go for long walks almost every day.  Here is a tiny flower.  She thought it looks like a white violet.  However, our Mom only admires flowers and doesn't grow them.

 Our Mom has also made friends with this tiny little rodent.  Mom says this is a chipmunk and she has called him Francis.   She gives Francis peanuts and then he pigs out!  Emily and I would love to meet Francies.

Birthday Girl Celebrations

Greetings!  It is Emily.  I am celebrating my birthday today!

 I was given 5 treats before breakfast!  Woo hoo!  I think a nap is in order.

 Mom found some fresh catnip at a small, locally-owned store yesterday.  (This photo is a few years old and NOT my birthday nip)  She gave Winston and me each a small piece.  A few minutes later we both got the zoomies and then got into a tumble and tussle session with each other.  Mom says we can't handle the nip.  :( 

 Winston here.  Yeah, it is Emily's birthday.  The nip is to be shared, though.   Just so everyone is clear!  Mom says that maybe, when things restrictions and quarantine start to ease, then maybe she will look into a new scratch post for the both of us!

Insomnia and Spring

 Snoozy purrs from Winston!  Emily and I don't have insomnia.  The Mom does and she is beside herself!  Emily and I like to give her practical pointers with our most excellent examples.  The rest is up to her!

 Mom tries to go for a walk every day.  She saw this tree covered in beautiful pink blossoms on Sunday.  This is the sort of thing that cheers her heart.

 Mom has also started posting encouraging quotes on her door.  She said she feels a bit silly but it seems like a way to cope.  We think she would cope better if she gave us more treats every day.  Am I right?!

 YAWN!  It is Emily.  Thankfully, Winston and I are not dealing with sleeplessness.  We can only gently nudge Mom to follow our lead.  I have also been extra cuddly.  Mom says cat cuddles are good for the soul.

 Mom's vacuum cleaner decided to quit several weeks ago.  It has been interesting trying to find a cheap solution.  Guess what.  Her Mom dropped off an old handheld vac for her to use on the carpets.  Mom said it "works".   The funny thing is that Winston is afraid of the tiny vacuum but not the large one.  I, Emily, don't mind the small vac at all!

 Winston and I want to share this funny from Pinterest.  Mom had such a crush on MacGyver when she was growing up!

Spring

 Good morning.  It is Emily!  I'm hiding on the dining room chair with a catnip toy!  How have you all been managing?  Our Mom has good days and bad days.  But she is still thankful for the days!

It rained recently.  It is time for the Mom to get out her cheerful flower brolly!

 Mom came across these cheerful pink flowers!  She said they made her heart happy.

 Purrs from Winston. Even though Mom has more unexpected time she is staying busy!  Sometimes the day gets away from her.  She is baking and organizing more.  How have your humans been coping?

 Mom said this bird singing in the tree was a gift, too!

April Flowers and Naps

 Hello from Winston.  We wanted to say hello.  We hope everybody is managing.

 The flowers are starting to bloom now.

Hello now from Emily.  Winston and I need lots of naps these days.  Keeping Mom out of trouble is no easy task.

Kitty Yoga

 Hello.  This Emily popping by to say hello.  We hope this finds everyone, feline and human, managing well.
Do you see in the dark background a bookcase?  Mom has A LOT of books to keep her busy if she isn't doing work or housework.  She also likes to take very long walks.

 Our area had several centimetres of snow earlier this week.  Mom was so excited and went to the park.   She said the world looked clean and had special snow quiet. 
Since the quarantine came in effect she said there a more people there walking their woofies.  She then looked at me and Winston and wondered how we might do on a leash! 
Mom, you better not try if you value your fingers.  I can be a fierce feline!
