Chicken Coup

Photobucket

Well...Not sure where to begin with this post. If you know my father-in-law it wont seem out of place, but if you don't this might leave you scratching your head. Long story short...TW (My father-in-law) is a fair junky and so when the Western Idaho Fair was going on they had this booth set up where you could buy chicken coups and they must have seen him coming cause he got it in his head that this was what he needed for his grandkids. A week or so later some men showed up and deliver a chicken coup complete with a few chickens. So to get the whole effect TW set up a tour at the feed lot so the kids could see how the chicken scratch was made and how to feed and take care of them. Now, each family that lives here, is in charge of a day to pick up the eggs and feed and water the chickens. Makes total sense. Right??? One thing is for sure..with TW as your Grandpa life is never boring.

(Also..we bought a new camera and the only lens we have is really long...so here are some nice close ups of our family at the feed lot)

First Day of School 2011

Photobucket

I know this is a little late, but I had to document the big day. Big Rigs started the third grade this year and Wylie Bear started...gasp...Kindergarten. Rigs is an old pro by now and was just ready to get the new year started. Wylie had been asking all summer long..."How many days till school?" So it was a whole summer's worth of anticipation coming to a head. He was fearless and went right into the classroom. Lucky for Wylie, who is already a little girl crazy, there were only 3 other boys in his class. We are already hearing stories of girls telling the boys that they think they are cute. I feel bad...I have passed on my curse. They will just have to learn to live with it.

Man In Command

Photobucket

We are in full swing of Riggin's Flag Football season and when we went to our opener down at the BSU Jamboree our starting Quarterback was a no show so Rigs (second String QB) got the call. He stepped in and lead his team to victory scoring the only touchdown. He made some good runs and made every exchange with his center and running backs. Ashlee and I were so proud!!! He stepped up like a champ and acted with poise like it was just another day at the office. Since then he has split the QB job, each kid playing a half of each game. He also plays outside linebacker and is fearless. He is the second smallest kid on the team, but he plays like he is the biggest. I have to brag on him just a little bit more...We were scrimmaging a team the other night and when the other Quarterback was in there was this huge kid on defense that kept blowing up the plays before they had a chance to get going and our other coach tried kid after kid to try to block him to no avail. He said " No one can block that kid!" I said "put Rigs on him...He will hold him." I know the coach was thinking....this is the second smallest guy on our team??? But he put him in there anyway. That kid didn't pull one flag after that. Rigs held him every time.

Its not the size of the fighter, but the size of the fight inside.
