Don't read ahead if you don't want to see some awful pictures of a cut foot. Jackson is constantly doing experiments like filling glasses with different liquids and then freezing them, creating potions, etc. One evening he was trying to make bubbles. He filled a glass with water and soap and took it out on the balcony. Suddenly he came back inside screaming! I noticed bloody footprints across the carpet. Apparently he had decided to stand on the glass and it broke right up into his foot. He showed me his foot and it was sliced right open. At first it looked ok (like in the pictures). I thought it might be fine and I held some pressure on it. He wasn't crying and I asked him if he wanted some of the pizza I had just ordered. He said yes and I got him a piece. He started to eat and I looked at his foot again. He bent his toes and the would opened wide and was gushing blood. He dropped his pizza, turned pale and said, "I think I'm going to throw up." He laid on the ground after that sweating and not saying much. I felt nauseous too after seeing that! I called Jack, who was still at work, and asked him to get home quickly.
Jack got home and took Jackson to Miami Children's hospital where they determined there was no glass in the foot and he hadn't cut any ligaments or tendons. Then they stitched him up! Jackson was very brave through the whole thing. The hard part was that he couldn't walk well, had to wear a special boot and couldn't get it wet for several weeks. Eventually it healed nicely! And Jackson learned not to step on glasses anymore.
