Where does all the time go?

Wow, It's been a while. Am I the only person who can't figure out where all the time goes? Here are a few things that have been going on this month. Savannah doing what she does best, whatever it is.
Image

My running friends and I had a ugly Christmas sweater party. We also have a "Dundee Award" ceremony. Each person gets a trophy, that is unique to something funny about them. It is so much fun.
Image
Cache LOVED playing with the lights while decorating the tree.
Image
I took the kids to ride the carousel and to see Santa.
Image
Cache is not a fan of the big man. However the other kids were very excited. And can't wait for him to come see them this week!
Image
I on the other hand am quite sad. No more "If you don't stop that I am going to call Santa" That threat won't work in a few days. Any suggestions??????

DAMN IT!

Did you know that if you put a hot glass pan, on a hot glass stove top, and you pour cold German pancake mixture in it it EXPLODES? I did not know that.

Catch UP!

Man it has been a few days since I have blogged. Life has been CRAZY! I will do a brief catch up over the past few weeks. Today we had Savannah's birthday party. Only a couple of weeks late. I would have been fine not having it. But she kept saying, "I'm not 4 yet, not until my party" So we had to have a party, so that she could turn 4.ImageOkay, so check out this sad cake. I went on line to find out how to make a barbie cake using a pampered chief bowl. Pretty easy instructions. I make the cake, take it out of the bowl, let it cool. Frost it, then I get Barbie to stick her in the cake and that's when I realize, how small the dang cake was. Not only did it not rise. It shriveled up and died. It was pathetic. It looks like barbie is stuck in a over sized cupcake. In fact, the cake was so small I had to hurry and whip up a batch of sugar cookies because I didn't think that it would feed 10 little girls. It didn't quite turn out like the one I found on the internet.

Image Speaking of cakes. Last weekend we had Colby's birthday down in I.F. at Leo's. We got all the way down there, and I realized I forgot to bring the cake, and the goodie bags, and Cache's bottle. How's that for a good mom? The kids were all "What about cake?" Image
Bridger got new glasses! He looks so handsome in them. He has been wearing contacts for the past 3 years, but he wasn't really seeing that great with them.Hopefully these will help him see better.ImageAnd here we have Cache, crying because I won't let him continue to stick his head in the toilet.
It's such a rough life kiddo!

Any who, probably the biggest news. John and I went to New York real quick last week. I'm talking real quick. Less than 24 hours in the big city. We got there Tuesday night around 9:00. Check into our hotel, then we head out to find something to eat. It would have been helpful if we knew where we were. We just start walking down this street. I wanted to keep going further, where all the lights were. I was sure there would be some good restaurant down there. As we get closer, it was getting louder and there was thousands of people. We were both like, "what is going on?" We couldn't figure it out. Oh, we are in time square. On election night. NO BIGGIE! It was out of control. I am not a claustrophobic person, but it was freaking me out. There was so many people crammed into one little area. It was nothing I could have ever imagined. You know how it is when you vote here. You go to Lincoln Elementary. You mark your ballot, you place it in the box, you state your name, they tell you voted, you go home and go to bed. But not in New York, it was just something I've never seen. It was pretty neat to be a part of it.ImageImageImage
Of course by the time we left time square all the restaurants were closed, so we ended up eating at a sabro pizza. You know, the kind you can eat at any mall. that was kinda a disappointment.
So we go back to the hotel, and look at the map, and find out where we are, and how far it is to the today show. I am a fan.
ImageHere we are with Lenny. The guy who took this picture did not know how to focus.
Here are the stars. I contained myself. When I saw Al at the Olympics, I scared him away.

ImageThe whole reason for this trip was because John's company got an award from apparel magazine. So he had to accept the award it at the Fashion Design Institute . Let me tell you, I am like the most unfashionable person on the face of the earth, and when we got there it showed. I was feeling just a little bit out of place. Same feeling I had the night before in time square. You got to remember I am from Madison County, the reddest county in the USA.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLBY!

I know what you are thinking. Janeese must only be fertile one week out of the year. I would probably think the same thing, if Bridger's birthday wasn't in December. Having three birthdays in less than 2 weeks is really kinda hectic. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Besides that, today is Colby's 6Th birthday. I can't believe that he is already 6. Just seems like yesterday when I went in for a check up and they were like, Ummm, ma'am, you are dilated to a 9 . We will call labor and delivery, you call your husband and drive yourself to the hospital.
30 minutes later, Colby was born. And life has never been the same since. He looks like such a sweet little baby here. But looks can be deceiving. He cried a lot, in fact the first night we brought him home, John and I looked at each other and both said, "what in the hell have we done?" He has always been a pretty demanding child, but we still love the kid.
ImageHe was such a fat and squishy baby. I miss the chubs.
When Colby gets older he wants to be cop, because they eat doughnuts.
(that's a pretty good reason)

We love our Colby. Thanks for always making life so exciting.

HALLOWEEN HIGHLIGHTS

CANDY!
It helps if you dump your bag out on the table each time you want a piece of candy.Because, you know you can't remember what there is from the last time you dumped it out 2 minutes ago.
The sad thing, this is only one-fourth of the candy in our household.
ImageWe had a lot going on this week.
A Halloween Party.
John and I went as "JOE six-pack" and "Hockey MOM", you know, just the average American.

Bridger's costume was "Flippin sweet" But thanks to some
stupid 4Th grade boys that told him it was ugly, he refused to go to the trunk-or-treat. And would not put the wig, glasses or moon boots back on.
GOSH! DUMB KIDS!

HAPPY B-DAY CACHE!

Well, today is Cache's birthday. The big numero UNO!
It's hard to believe that he is already one. It just seems like yesterday when he was born.
Image
Here he is at 6 months: Oh, I miss those checks!
Image

And here is is today, a grumpy old man.

ImageI tried to take a snap shot before church, but he was not giving me the time of day.
Then at church he was such a beast, as always. The one o'clock schedule is not good for this baby.I don't know why, but today he was extra cranky.
After church we had dinner and a little party for him. The only people that came over were his grandparents. It was really low key.
Of course, he liked playing with the balloons more than he liked playing with any of his new toys.
ImageHe really was not interested in the cupcake either. He just squished it around in his fingers, in his hair, on his face, on his high-chair tray, then all over the floor.
Image Oh, he did crack one little smile here. It didn't last long. It was followed by him crying, and waving his hands with cake flying everywhere.
ImageAs you can see here. He could hardly contain his excitement.Yeah, I'm 1.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CACHE!
(We love you, even when you are cranky)

POO/WHO?

So yesterday was just one of those days. I got up and went running with the ladies, and it was cold. After a long, cold run I always look forward to a nice long HOT shower. So I put Savannah and Cache in the bathtub in our bathroom, and I hop in the shower. I was covered in shampoo, when Savannah starts screaming. "MOM, Cache just pooped in the tub and he is eating it." Two things a mom never wants to hear in the same sentence. So I jump out of the shower sopping wet and covered in soap. I grab Cache, luckily he was not eating poo. He was eating a squirty toy, the same color as his poo. So I take him and Savannah into the shower with me to try and clean them off. Of course Cache is screaming because he hates the shower water .
I am trying to get out of there as fast as I can so that he'll stop crying. Meanwhile trying to not drop him. You know how easy it is to hold a wet, wiggly baby. That's always a fun way to start the morning. The house was smelling like a poop factory for the rest of the day.
So much for my nice long hot relaxing shower.

So then we have had a few little mysteries at our house this week:
SOMEONE THINKS THEY ARE A BEAVER?
(yes, that is the kitchen cabinets)
Image

AND SOMEONE THINKS THEY ARE A BEAUTICIAN?

Image

I WONDER WHO IT COULD BE?

Yeah! Spud Harvest break is over

Growing up, spud harvest was the best. But now that I have kids in school, I beg to differ. They barely start school, then they are out again for 2 weeks. Trying to entertain them is fun. Trying to keep them off of each other is even more fun.
Image
Since John went out of country, we decided to go visit cousins in Utah.

ImageOn our way home we stopped at the Tree house Museum in Ogden. The kids love going there.
Can you blame them?Image

Savannah was in heaven with all the babies, and dress ups

Image I love this picture. Look at Cache's face. He is so scared.
Image
McDonald's AGAIN:( I spent a small fortune feeding the kids McD's
ImageCache kept wanting my ice cream cone. Finally I just gave it to him. Love how he is eating it with his hands? He kept saying, "MMMMMMMMMMMM!"
ImageThis is my favorite. He always makes this face. He is so funny!
Image
We also went and visited some other cousins up here in Idaho. We took them to play at this park, but they spent more time playing here.........
ImageOn all of these huge rocks.
Image They had a blast climbing up the rocks, and sliding down them.
Image And exploring around. They found this cave, and they are pretty sure that it is Batman's cave.
ImageAnd of course what would spud harvest break be without a snow/gail force wind storm
Image

All in All, our spud harvest break was pretty uneventful. Just lots of chaos, but hey what's new!
