Fundraising is one of the most important—and strategic—ways to help Democrats win up and down the ballot.

That’s why Swing Left offers the tools you need to raise money for competitive races where every dollar makes a real difference.

You and your personal network—and thousands of people like you across the country—can beat the Big Money Republicans at their own game.

On average, each Swing Left fundraising page raises about $2,000. These individual fundraisers add up—and help provide critical, small-dollar support to Democrats in key races up and down the ballot.

A colorful abstract painting hangs on the teal wall behind them, and a brick wall is on the right.

Level up your fundraising

Host a Grassroots Fundraising Event with Swing Left

We're building a network of grassroots fundraisers to support Democratic candidates in the races that matter most—and we want you to be part of it.

A fundraiser can be anything from a backyard BBQ with friends, a comedy night, or an ice cream social—the format is up to you (we can help you brainstorm). What matters is bringing people together to support races they care about.

Once you post your event, a Swing Left organizer will reach out to walk you through everything: building your invite list, setting up your fundraising page, and planning the details. Not sure on a date yet? Go ahead and post anyway—we can work that out together.

New to this? No worries. We've got you every step of the way.

Make an effective ask:

Tie your communications to what people care about. There’s so much at stake, and you can connect the dots about how people’s donation will make a difference on the issues that are important to them.

Tailor your messages to your audience. A text to your friends might look different from an email to your neighbors, or a post on social media.

Giving is contagious. Consider promoting a donation match, a fundraising challenge, thank you shoutouts to folks who’ve contributed, and consistently share your progress.

Remember to follow up:

Send thank you notes and updates as you continue raising toward your goal! This is a simple way to make contributors feel appreciated, part of something larger, and know their donation didn’t just go into a black hole. Simply click the “stats” button on your published page to view a list of your contributors, including their location and email address.

  • Tip: If you’re a Swing Left group leader, send these folks a special invitation to join your group if they haven’t already!
