About
We created this blog to share events, photos, and moments with our family and friends.
My name is Tamra. I was born in Portland, Oregon and moved a lot growing up including, Stockton, CA (for 9 months), Anchorage, Alaska (for 7 years) and Chico, CA (for 6 years). I attended college at BYU with a BS in Microbiology: Clinical Lab Science. I worked as a lab supervisor at Myriad Genetics in Salt Lake City, UT. A mutual friend, Keith, introduced Barry and I at a dinner party about 11 years ago in Salt Lake City. Then I decided to get my Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, CO. Upon graduation I moved to Santa Barbara, CA where Barry was attending school at Brooks Institute of Photography. After he graduated we moved to Portland, Oregon. We lived in Portland for over 5 years and recently sold our home to move to Utah. We want to raise Hunter around more family!
I work full time, as the Western Region Business Director for Signature Genomic Laboratories (SGL). SGL is an innovative micro-array company in Spokane, WA. We offer chromosome testing from a “zoomed in” approach and help other laboratories bring this specialized testing in-house.
Barry is self employed as a free lance photographer specializing in commercial advertising photography. He has years of experience shooting motorsports & snowmobiles. Working in Portland enabled him to shoot a lot of SHOES! Nike, Adidas, Keen as well as any other type of product you can imagine: REI, Stash Teas, food, etc… He does not shoot weddings or portraiture. His schedule is seasonal. So he’s very busy in the summer and slow in the winter. We have been able to take advantage of this with Hunter’s child care. Barry has been Hunter’s primary care provider so that I can work full time for Signature.
Recently, the motorsports season has kick back up into full swing. So we have been living with my parents in Sparks, Nevada. Grandma is an amazing nanny! We affectionately call her our “Granny Nanny”.
That about sums it up! When we get back to Utah, we will be looking for our new home!

Seeing Hunter looking so cute, so happy and so far away… tears moisten my eyes and I realize anew how much I miss you. It’s wonderful to know that you are happy and to see how Hunter is growing into a beautiful toddler; but the sting of going to NE Broadway every Friday and knowing that you are gone is still with me. I send you all much, much love. Ann

some people definitely should (underlined) have children.
I miss you both – well, actually, Barry too. Bless you.
