Day 20

We headed down the canyon for church. It is nice to go to our old ward, we know lots of people and it feels like home in a weird kind of way. For dinner we had sandwiches, chips, melon and Candy's famous cherry cheese whip dessert, with choice of cherry or blueberry topping. Very fluffy and tasty. The kids enjoyed time with their cousins and Aunt Kelly-playing on the trampoline and with the cat. Sophie cried nearly all the way home-something about wanting to jump "one more time". Photobucket We picked up Jaxon for a sleepover and golf tomorrow. They went to the miniature golf course, played tennis and football already before settling down with a movie, I think I heard Little Rascals and Nacho.

I finished up the "Melissa" apron, I'll post a pic tomorrow. I know you are on the edge of your seats for that one. Next up, the "Andrea". I have to finish that one quick like...Liz is coming, our anniversary is approaching {16 years!} , and 4th of July and festivities will be here shortly!

Hope you had a nice Sunday...PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Happy birthday melissa!!

day 19

I started off the day making orange syrup, a recipe from Aunt Kathy. It was quick and tasty on our blueberry waffles. Ally was finished with youth conference so I went and picked her up. Todd biked up Sundance around to AF canyon and down, out and up Suncrest and BACK. He left the house at 5:45 and was home around 12:15pm. All day long he had a dazed look, finally he was able to nap while I took the kids to swim. I ran 2.8 miles after that. Why 2.8? I wanted to break my monthly mile record, but only by a little bit. While I was running on the treadmill, I watched a wedding in the gazebo out the window of the gym. I was happy for a change of scenery. I must say that I will probably never again witness a real live wedding while running.

We took the kids to get gelato and a ham and cheese croissant. The girls heard the carousel so we headed that way. PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketSophie screamed for 30 minutes after her ride was over. Todd and I tried out the Mountain Grill. There was a man playing guitar and singing out on the patio and the weather was perfect. When we came home, Todd gave each of the kids a turn with the basket of tennis balls and then we played a very laid back match.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Day 18

Today we (Todd, Chase, Briggs & I ) rode bikes around Midway, Chase didn't like having his feet in clips/pedals. We worked out at the gym, ran a couple miles, ate strawberry salad with this dressing: {recommended by Aunt Kathy}Photobucket & quesadillas and leftover pizza for lunch, listened to Brooke interact with her little sisters {she is earning money and giving them good care to earn it}, worked on the potty training, and went swimming. I was glad I wasn't the mom with a little boy who threw her phone into the hot tub. It wasn't pretty.

We had a wedding reception/dinner buffet tonight at the Grand America, Grand Salon for the Broadbent/Beesley wedding, it was nice to chat with our long lost Houston friends--Broadbents, Harrisons & Jimmy.

Listening to: Mates of State & She & Him

Thursday-day 17

Another one of those drive down the canyon in the morning and don't get back until dark kind of days. With current gas prices, it costs us about $25-30 to go down and back, so we have to make the most of it while we are down . We dropped Ally off at Youth Conference and headed straight to the eye dr. Brooklyn, Briggs, Brynn and Sophie were all checked today. Brynn was a little scared and wanted me right by her. When the dr. asked if she knew her letters, she broke out in the ABC song--sang the whole thing. He puts up the letter chart and she says, Mom, I forgot what that one is called, so he promptly put up the picture chart. Sophie did well too, calling the hand picture "glove" and the bird picture, "kitchen, chicken" every time. She also called the cake with candles, "the pancake".Photobucket

After the dr., we met Nana for lunch. We sat in a 1/2 booth, the little girls by Nana. They haven't had a trampoline in a year, so they were satisfying the need to bounce on the booth. Let's just say, good thing Nana wasn't eating soup! The next stop was the DT fields where Chase was finishing up his tournament game-we got to see the very end where his team lost in overtime. Shoot! He grabbed his bags and we headed for Nana and Papa's house where the little ones played {thanks! they had a great time watching movies, playing mario, blowing bubbles, coloring, eating, jumping and playing with the cat!}while I picked up Todd from the airport. He and I headed for the JSB to dine in honor of Mark Broadbent, one of his YM from Houston. He's marrying Amy Beesley, from SLC today. Thanks Broadbents! {Nice to chat with Phil & Jen & baby Wade}.
Home around eleven.

Missing Todd & Chase.

Park City tonight-outlet mall for last minute items for Ally.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two college aged boys came by us today and Sophie yells, "Jonas Brothers , Jonas Brothers!" The kids were dying laughing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The other day we saw a dead porcupine along the road, took a few pics of its bloated self and headed home. We drove past it again today and Brynn said, "That pokeman is really FLAT today, huh, Mom?"Photobucket
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sophie was on the edge of the pool and there was a little girl swimming. Sophie asks, "are you my friend?" the girl says, "no." Confused, Sophie then says, "are you my boyfriend??" The little girl said, "no" and swam away as Sophie walked beside her along the pool. "You are my boyfriend."

Chase keeps texting me from the creamery at BYU.

If I don't spend my money, can I spend it at home?

Uh, buy a $2 ice cream cone, I'll give you $2 when you get back. Enjoy camp, you won't be back for another year.

But, can I keep all the money you gave me for camp when I get home?

Seriously, that child is a SAVER. He'll probably ask for the "double your money if you put it in savings" plan when he gets here.

DAY 15

Recovering/resting:

cleaned condo top to bottom {kids are learning to work}
swimming
watched "wipeout" and the Japanese game show
grocery shopped

DAY 14

Dropped Chase off at camp,Photobucket took Todd to airport, took kids to the gateway splash pad {earning serious Mom points here, being sick and all, sitting in the heat}. PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketAte lunch at Jason's Deli. Headed home to BED for the rest of the day, except to make the kids some chicken nuggets and grapes. On the way down the stairs, I slipped somehow and took the last landing on my hiney. I hurt my elbow and wrist on one arm and my collarbone on the other side, not to mention condensing myself by a few inches. Brig came out of his room and stared for a minute and then said, "mom...........mom, are you ok?" I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow.

Ended the night by watching the little girls entertain the bigger kids. Seriously, so fun to see them all giggling. We missed Todd & Chase!

day 11 --30 luv

PhotobucketWe had a lot of fun with The B.Beeson family. We had fruity pebbles for breakfast in honor of RUBY, Havana ate hers "dry", She likes her milk in a cup, Ruby said.

Sparkle toes by Aunt Jane Photobucketand then they were off to visit more family on their trek around UT, fatherless. Photobucket

We went swimming and then had a visit from Aunt Kathy and Uncle Ben. PhotobucketWhile Ben went fishing {and caught lots o' fish}, Kathy, Mom & I went to the fabric shop and grocery shopped for our dinner for 16. The guys were unloading their bikes & things when we pulled up. Chili {even in summer-a treat for Arizona residents!}, fritos, salad, cherry cobbler were consumed and then we played tennis. We finished the night by going to the gym, taking a short stroll with Sophie in the stroller and then a movie. It's been a fun filled week! {we are all so TIRED}PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
