Merry Christmas

We were able to go to Utah this year for Christmas! Our trip there was quite the experience! First, our flight was delayed; second, there was construction on the highway, which consisted of a police escort at a speed of 5 mph; third, a stop for gas and Addy's throwing up, which we thought might be from motion sickness because of the flying and then being in the car for ever... wrong! However, it was worth the battle.
It's the first Christmas in quite a few years that everyone has been together! It was our first year celebrating with Tara's side of the family! We had so much fun! We ate, played games, talked, played games, hung out, shopped, played games, and Addy got lots of attention from all her aunts and uncles and grandparents. It was so nice to not have anywhere to go, or anything to do! It was also nice to have 11 people looking after Addy than just 2! We kind of got a break!
We were spoiled this year and so was Addy! Addelyn is loving her new toys! Grandma and Grandpa got her an alphabet puzzle and she knew almost all the letters by the end of the day! She amazes me! I feel like she grew up so much in the 8 days that we were in Utah! My mom even noticed the change. I am guessing it's because she had so many people to learn from that she learned a lot of new things.

We had a great vacation and loved spending time with everyone! It was great to get to know Joe (my brother in-law) better! I just wished we all lived a little closer and could see each other more often!

Portland Pre-Christmas

Tyler's parents were able to come to Portland for their annual Christmas shopping trip the weekend before Christmas! It was fun to spend time with them and have them open our gifts and for us to open theirs in front of each other. Addy of course, loved having them visit, as did we! We went out to eat and played games! Tyler's Dad gave us the best present of all!... the Flu! Yuck! Addy managed to get it the night we flew into Utah (more detail in next post) and Tyler got in on the fun Christmas morning and then it made it's way around the rest of my family. :(

Jantzen Beach Outing

This weekend we went to Jantzen Beach to ride the carousel and see Santa! Addy had a blast and loved that Lexa was able to come!

Addy loved riding on the horsey and held on all by herself!

18 Months

Wow! A year and half has gone by so fast! I cannot believe that Addy is now closer to 2 years old! We had her doctor's appointment today. These are her stats:

weight: 24 pounds 47%ile
height: 31.9 inches 58%ile
head: 19.1 inches 92%ile
And her BMI is 16.6.

Addy is continually learning. Some new things that she does are:
~Counts from 1-10. (but usually skips 1)
~Says 2 and 3 words sentences.
~LOVES, LOVES, LOVES nursery. We left church early because I was not feeling well and she actually cried when we took her out.
~Will eat almost anything you put in front of her.
~Tries to dress herself and puts her shoes on and takes them off all day long.

Here she is in her cute Sunday dress!

She has also started loving smiling for the camera, which I appreciate.

Isn't She Lovely?!

This little girl makes me so happy! I definitely get my dosage of laughs every day from her entertainment.

Image
She has taken a recent liking to her "glasses". She loves to wear them around the house and look over the top of them.

She managed to get both binkies in her mouth at the same time! She has also started covering her ears (a lot!), I think she likes hearing the different sound it makes.

And my favorite. We were getting ready to leave and I had to run to the bathroom. I told Addy "mommy's going to go potty", so she decided she needed to get her potty and put it on her head. Silly girl!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

This really is one of my favorite times of year (minus the cold weather). I wish Christmas was in July because then it really would be the most wonderful time of the year! Warm weather plus Christmas... what more could you ask for?
So far the tree has survived our little terror. This morning she did grab one of the shiny balls and proceeded to throw it on the kitchen floor. It of course shattered, which resulted in a big "uh-oh!".
There is also one ornament from my first Christmas, of a baby (it's red, you can kind of see it on the bottom of the tree) she has been carrying it around saying "baby, baby!"

We are so excited to have our tree up! I wish I could put presents under them, but I know for a fact that someone would be unwrapping them as fast as she could.

So Thankful!

There are so many things to be thankful for. I am thankful for my loving, wonderful husband and his hard work and dedication to school. I am thankful for my perfect little girl and how much she makes me laugh. I am thankful for my family (in-laws included). I am thankful for a great apartment that suits us and has cheap rent. I am thankful to be healthy.

We had a great thanksgiving in Hermiston with Tyler's family. It was full of eating, game playing, family time, shopping, and going to the movies. We had a blast!
