Undergraduate Programs
Trinity College of Jacksonville’s undergraduate program offers over 25 different programs of study under the Division of Biblical Studies, the Division of Education, and the Division of Business. While all of these are offered in an engaging on-campus format, select degrees are also offered in a convenient online format, providing for the needs of students seeking distance education.

Associate Degrees
Trinity offers 2 year associate degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies, Biblical Studies, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, Math and Science, and Pre-Engineering.
Trinity’s 2 year Biblical Studies Program is a convenient way for students to gain an Associate’s degree, while deepening their knowledge of God’s Word. The program is offered both on-campus and online, while combining general education requirements typical of two year programs with biblical studies.

Graduates of TCJ's Biblical Studies Program gain collegiate level theological instruction while completing an associate degree. Because this degree is not simply the first two years of a four-year degree but is designed to provide a unique learning experience and a distinct milestone in the student’s education, it will not always readily transition into all Trinity four-year degree programs.
The Associate of Science in Criminal Justice is designed to train individuals for entry-level positions within criminal justice agencies. Throughout the program, students not only will learn from professors who are experienced in the field, but also will benefit from real-world training opportunities.
Trinity offers a uniquely thorough program which combines all of the technical training you would expect from a law enforcement program with the additional emphasis on high moral ethics and a biblical worldview. This results in graduates who not only have a solid academic training, but also enter a challenging field of work with a sense of compassion and moral justice.
Students who complete the Associate of Science program can transition seamlessly into the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program if desired.
The Early Childhood Education associate degree is designed to train graduates to function effectively in the early childhood environment. You will receive hands on experience in the nursery, kindergarten, and early elementary grade levels of Trinity Christian Academy.

ECE 203 Preschool Materials and Environment
This course explores the use of visuals, technology, organization of materials, effective discipline, habits and routines, and other necessary components of a successful preschool classroom.
ECE 299 Preschool Education Internship
This capstone course provides a minimum of 140 hours of supervised classroom activity.
The Interdisciplinary Studies degree completion program prepares you to successfully and quickly complete your degree through flexible course requirements. Whether you have a future in ministry and build a degree around a ministerial career path, desire to focus on behavioral studies and counseling, or decide you want to study business and communications, the possibilities are nearly endless and the choice is yours.
Most, if not all of qualifying coursework from other institutions is likely to be accepted, giving you the ability to finish your bachelor’s degree quickly. As with all of our programs, you will expand your knowledge of God’s Word through biblical studies administered by highly credentialed teachers.

TCJ is excited to introduce their newest program: the Associate of Arts in Math and Science!
STEM education is among the most highly sought after degrees in the marketplace. TCJ's Associate in Math and Science degree is designed as an ideal starting point for students with interest in the medical or engineering fields.
Providing students with a solid education in the fundamental aspects of STEM disciplines, the curriculum offers a comprehensive range of courses in mathematics and scientific principles. This approach not only fosters a broad skill set but also empowers students to make informed decisions about their future specialization within STEM.
Key courses include:
17 credit hours in core Mathematics courses, including College Algebra, College Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics, and Calculus I and II.
16 credit hours in Science electives including: General Biology I and II, Physical Science Survey I and II, Physics, and Chemistry I and II.
One of the distinctive features of this program is its integration of a biblical worldview into the curriculum. Students are challenged to explore the ethical dimensions of these fields through the lens of their faith.
Through the Associate of Arts in Math and Science, graduates will be equipped with a foundational skill set and a worldview that integrates faith with reason. Students will demonstrate skills in mathematical and quantitative reasoning, develop core competencies in the natural sciences, and demonstrate an understanding of the methodologies of science as investigative tools.
Trinity College of Jacksonville offers an Associate of Arts in Pre-engineering degree program! The program will offer science and mathematics courses designed to prepare students for a baccalaureate degree in an Engineering field. Simultaneously, students will acquire understanding in basic theological concepts and be strengthened through a Biblical worldview.
Students seeking an Engineering program with a Christian worldview are limited in their choices – TCJ is proud to be able to fill that gap and meet the need at an Associate level.
This program will prepare graduates to transfer into four-year programs at other colleges and universities, having first established the foundations of their degree in an environment that prioritizes spiritual growth and offers a like-minded and supportive faculty and staff.
The Associate of Arts in Pre-engineering program is designed to provide students with fundamental skills in math and science which are necessary for transferring into a variety of Engineering degrees such as electrical, mechanical, civil, computer science, agricultural, industrial, and environmental engineering.
TCJ recognizes that enrollment in 4-year engineering programs is competitive, and students are encouraged to research their desired program to ensure that they are acquiring the skills necessary for their specific educational path.

The Elementary Education Program prepares you with solid instruction, student mentorship, tutoring opportunities, and an internship opportunity at one of the largest Christian academies in Florida upon prerequisite completion. You will gain hands-on access to classroom technology, and graduates are eligible to pursue Florida state teaching certification.

EDU305 Tests & Measurements
This course helps the prospective teacher understand the connections between objectives, instruction and evaluation in teaching. Attention is given to understanding the purposes, weaknesses, and strengths in each type of assessment to develop valid and reliable classroom tests and assessment tools.
EDU309 Elementary Lab
This lab provides a study of many helpful hints and procedures for running a smooth elementary school classroom. Besides teaching the proper form of manuscript and cursive writing, guidelines are given for the execution of the many extra duties of the elementary teacher.
EDU410 Elementary Education Internship
Student teaching, the ultimate course in the prospective teacher’s college career, includes at least 160 clock hours of observation and teaching under the joint supervision of a classroom teacher and the college appointed representative.

EDU206 Survey of Exceptionalities
This course is designed to provide Christian workers and teachers with a general knowledge and understanding about the characteristics and needs of each of the categories of exceptionalities (mentally handicapped, learning disabled, attention deficit, etc.) It also will include information for making adaptations in school and church related ministries in order to meet these needs.
EDU305 Tests & Measurements

EDU405 Education Seminar
This is required of all seniors, and deals with the Christian philosophy of education, as well as many of the practical hints a prospective teacher needs in dealing with the administration, parents, students, colleagues, and the mechanics of classroom procedure.
EDU411 Secondary Education Internship
Student teaching, the ultimate course in the prospective teacher’s college career, includes at least 160 clock hours of observation and teaching under the joint supervision of a classroom teacher and the college appointed representative.

Students may study elementary education with a concentration in special education; or secondary education with special education as a teaching field. EDU317 Diagnosis/Remediation of Math Disabilities
This course will cover methods of teaching math using a variety of techniques. It will emphasize multisensory teaching of both the basic skills and more advanced skills. Students will diagnose an actual student and then initiate and practice the remediation recommendations with the student.
EDU404 Diagnosis/Remediation of Reading Disabilities
This course will cover the procedures to follow in assessing and diagnosing all areas of reading difficulties. It also will provide guidance in choosing methods and approaches to use in remediating these areas of difficulty. Students will diagnose an actual student, and then initiate and practice the remediation recommendations with that student.
EDU409 Parent and Professional Collaboration
The student will learn techniques for meetings with parents from the initial meeting to recommend testing, through presentation of test results and accommodations, to on-going relations once the child enters the special education class. Additional techniques will be presented for collaborating with regular education teachers for mainstream accommodations.
EDU417 Career Development/Counseling for Special Education
Students will complete a guided research project to enable them to plan the career development of high school students in special education. They also will learn to counsel these students concerning their future plans and to aid in transitioning from school to work/higher education.
EDU415 Diagnosis and Evaluation in Special Education
The student will receive instruction in the administration of screening and diagnostic tests. Considerable time also will be spent on interpretation of test results and using these results to develop a workable program for the student.

COU232 Critical Issues in Counseling
This course considers important ethical and legal issues involved in counseling which includes various types of abuse, including alcohol and drugs and codependency, and discusses overcoming grief, depressions, stress and anxiety, and suicide. The second half of the course will consider counseling those with financial difficulties.
COU322 Theology of Christian Counseling
This course connects the student with biblical doctrine and practical living. The student will gain insight into the rich theological framework that supports and directs a biblical approach to counseling.
COU421 Counseling Techniques
This course examines various techniques and innovative approaches to Christian counseling, including cognitive therapy techniques and studies the steps involved in the biblical process of counseling. The student also studies how to help people change.
COU422 Counseling Practicum
This will be a supervised experience in counseling with an experienced counselor. It will be arranged by the administration on an individual basis.

Graduates of TCJ's counseling program are especially prepared to minister to the confused and the broken. Graduates also benefit from a large network of alumni, partner churches, and organizations for future employment opportunities; are not swallowed by the enormous financial debt typically accompanied by private education and are poised for successful academic development should they choose to pursue master’s studies after graduation.
Upon completion of this program, the counseling graduate will be equipped to move forward to earn a master's degree and to pursue licensure.

An introduction to the tools, verbal systems, and syntax of biblical Greek and Hebrew. Emphasis is placed on developing skills in the use of concordances and lexicons as well as the use of various print and online resources to prepare students for Bible translation.
CED321: Homiletics 1
A comprehensive exploration of the art and practice of sermon preparation, with a particular emphasis on effective sermon research. Students will develop the foundational skills necessary to craft meaningful and impactful sermons, delve into various methods of biblical study, learn to navigate theological resources, and gain proficiency in exegetical analysis to extract relevant insights for sermon development. Engaging with practical exercises and guided feedback, students will cultivate their ability to structure sermons, create engaging introductions, employ effective illustrations, and craft compelling conclusions.
CED322: Homiletics 2
A dynamic course that focuses on the art of sermon delivery, equipping students with the necessary skills to effectively communicate and engage with their congregations. Building upon the foundational knowledge gained in Homiletics 1, students will explore various aspects of sermon delivery and persuasive communication. Through practical exercises, individual coaching, and group discussions, students will develop their unique preaching style while honing their public speaking abilities and empowering students to confidently deliver sermons that inspire, challenge, and uplift their listeners.
BIB401: Advanced Theology
An intellectually stimulating course designed to deepen students understanding of critical theological issues through rigorous research and analysis. Building upon foundational theological knowledge, this course explores complex and contemporary theological debates, engaging students in in-depth investigations of diverse perspectives. Students will develop advanced research skills, including critical evaluation of scholarly sources, theological methodologies, and the synthesis of complex theological concepts.
CED412: Ministry Life and Calling
This course is designed to prepare ministerial candidates for the practical areas of the local church ministry. Topics include polity, premarital counseling, performing weddings and funerals, baptism and ordinations, pastoral care, pastoral counseling, and affirming your calling as a minister of the Gospel.
CED411: Ministry Administration
This course is designed to prepare ministerial candidates to design, implement, and manage the core systems of the church. Core systems include Worship, Evangelism/Outreach, Assimilation, Groups, Volunteerism, Generosity/Giving, Leadership Development, and Strategy/Evaluation.

MIS201: Cross-Cultural Ministries
This transformative course equips students with the knowledge, skills, and cultural sensitivity needed to effectively engage in ministry within diverse cultural contexts. Through a combination of theoretical insights and practical experiences, students will explore topics such as cross-cultural communication, contextualization of the Gospel, intercultural relationships, and the challenges and opportunities of cross-cultural ministry.
BUS304: Non-Profit Administration
This course examines principles involved in running a non-profit organization. Legal issues including organization and set up requirements, reporting requirements and other topics will be covered. The role of the board of directors and its relationship to the chief executive will also be studied.
CED317: Student Ministry
This course presents methods and materials for effectively directing a successful student ministry. The student will learn how to organize and operate ministries for various ages, develop volunteers, and communicate effectively to students.
COU405: Counseling Children & Teens
This course discusses the importance of understanding child/teen challenges, development, and spiritual growth. This class will prepare the student to work with children and teens through play therapy and art therapy and will teach how to use counseling techniques at the child or teen level.
CED325: Social Ethics
This course examines contemporary ethical issues and their implications within society. Students learn to apply biblical teachings and theological reflections to their analysis of current issues. Through critical thinking and respectful dialogue, students will develop their own moral reasoning, considering the impact of their beliefs and actions on social well-being and the common good. The course emphasizes the role of the Church in promoting social ethics and equips students with the tools to engage ethically in diverse cultures.

B.A. in Advanced Biblical Studies
TCJ’s Advanced Biblical Studies degree program is ideal for the student who seeks a higher level of academic training in Biblical Studies. The Biblical Studies degree program streamlines the academic timeline for a student who desires to pursue a graduate degree in Biblical Studies. Upon completion of the B.A. in Advanced Biblical Studies, the student will have earned their bachelor’s degree plus 12 hours of course work toward master’s studies. TCJ grants automatic acceptance into the M.A. in Biblical Studies to students who meet academic requirements at the completion of the bachelor level course work.
Interested students will follow the current Advanced Biblical Studies undergraduate program in their first three years and then apply for the graduate program in the third year.
TCJ offers the undergraduate Advanced Biblical Studies program through a hybrid of traditional on-campus and online learning or exclusively through online distance education. TCJ offers all master’s degree course work in an online-only format. Students interested in in-person instruction will complete the undergraduate course requirements in a hybrid format (a combination of on-campus and distance courses) or through distance education only. Master’s degree level courses are only offered through the distance education format.
Of high benefit to the interested student, this program enables students to complete their bachelor’s while simultaneously working toward their master’s degree. This condensed timeline results in significant tuition cost savings.
With a seamless progression from undergraduate coursework to graduate-level research and study, students gain a comprehensive understanding of biblical texts, historical context, and theological frameworks that will position them for success in both ministry and further academic pursuits. MUS302: Biblical Foundations of Worship
This course is an examination of biblical models of worship and principles of worship as they apply to both personal and corporate worship experiences. Special attention is given to Old and New Testament worship practices, the Gospel as the center of worship, various worship styles and forms, and special issues facing the church today. Students will develop, articulate, and defend a biblical philosophy of worship.
MUS407: Planning and Leading Worship
Special attention is given to the corporate nature of congregational worship, understanding service structure, evaluating resources and repertoire, and designing Gospel-centered worship services in a variety of styles. Students will research, plan, rehearse, present, and defend at least one detailed worship service during the semester.
MUS310: Worship and the Creative Arts
This course explores a diversity of the creative arts and their uses in corporate worship. Students will study how the arts have been and are being used in the church while developing a personal theology of the arts in worship. Students will plan, prepare, and perform a variety of art forms with specific attention being given to fostering the arts in the church, and developing the church artist.
MUS312: Music and Media Technology
A study of modern resources, techniques and technology. Topics will include audio, video, lighting, software applications, and stage design. Students will complete a variety of comprehensive projects while developing a working technological vocabulary in an effort to assist the student in communicating effectively and professionally in each of these areas. Students will also articulate a philosophy for the use of media and technology in corporate worship.
MUS222: Worship and the Psalms
This course is an introduction to the Psalter and its theology. The main theological themes of the Psalms and the different types of Psalms will be studied. At Trinity College of Jacksonville, students in all of our programs complete an intensive internship as the capstone to their degree completion. The Department of Music and Worship works closely with our students to help place them in internships with thriving music ministries and under the direction of experienced mentors. This real- life experience is invaluable in securing employment positions for our graduates.
The internship application must be submitted 4 weeks prior to the requested start date. You will not receive credit for any work completed prior to the approval date of the internship.
Internships are typically completed during the summer between the Junior and Senior year. Your academic advisor will help you make decisions about the timing of your internship as the time approaches.
Business Programs
Trinity College of Jacksonville offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. The General track is available online and on campus; additional optional cognates in Managerial Accounting, Biblical Leadership and Management, Project Management, Real Estate, or Sport Management are available on campus only. These programs prepare students to articulate a biblically based management philosophy and integrate biblical principles of ethics and management practices.
The Bachelor of Science Business degree in Accounting prepares the students with the necessary skills to succeed in commercial, public, non-profit, or governmental accounting and provides the foundation for additional study and licensure.
These programs of study are designed to develop outstanding and competitive individuals in the business field while also addressing the moral, ethical, and biblical principles that should be the ultimate guide in every area of life – personal as well as professional.
The Business Administration degree prepares students to articulate a biblically based management philosophy and to integrate biblical principles of ethics with management practice. Throughout the program, you will acquire understanding of the major concepts and ideas in various areas of business management such as accounting, marketing, management, non-profit management, and others. You will also learn to identify the unique management challenges of a non-profit organization and develop appropriate written and oral communication skills for the business setting.
Students may choose an emphasis in Sport Management or Biblical Leadership and Management. The Sport Management cognate will help graduates meet the demands of youth sports, community recreation, Christian school athletics, facility and event management, intercollegiate sports programs, and event professional sports.
The Biblical Leadership and Management cognate will equip graduates to manage non-profit organizations and lead teams in the work environment. Equally important, students will be grounded in biblical foundations for leadership. An understanding of the underlying moral principles which govern decision-making and trustworthy leadership enhances their acquired skills and learned business practices. Blending these two important aspects of management result in graduates who are a cut above the rest, able to effectively combine business savvy with a humble approach to respectful, confident, and conscientious leadership.
The Accounting concentration prepares the student with the necessary skills to succeed in commercial, public, non-profit, or governmental accounting and provides the foundation for additional study and licensure. Coursework in the accounting program helps equip the student to master the requisite skills and competencies of an accountant or financial executive, and be prepared to work in business or Christian ministry.

An introduction to financial accounting, this course focuses on the financial reporting of enterprises to external decision makers. It introduces and examines the accounting cycle, including journalizing and posting transactions, accounting for merchandising businesses and preparing financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, statement of retained earnings, and cash flow statement, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
BUS202 Managerial Accounting
Managerial accounting introduces concepts, procedures, and decision models that help managers improve business decision making. Managerial accounting is focused on meeting the financial information needs of internal users. The course presents various systems for calculating the cost of a product or service; tools for the evaluation of business segments; models for making decisions concerning a wide variety of special decisions; and planning and budgeting for operations.
ACC301 Intermediate Financial Accounting I
An in-depth study of financial statement preparation, accounting theory, and accounting practice for current assets and non-current assets, and related income effects. The application of generally accepted accounting principles in financial accounting and reporting.
ACC302 Intermediate Financial Accounting II
Continuation of ACC301 with emphasis on accounting theory and practice for long term liabilities and shareholder equity accounts, and related income effects.
ACC331 Cost Accounting
An in-depth study of the role of the modern management accountant and the application of traditional and activity-based cost analysis to diverse industries and manufacturing operations. Characteristics of business costs are analyzed and the principles of various cost systems are examined. Emphasis is given to the use of cost systems and data in strategic and managerial decision making.
ACC417 Advanced Financial Accounting
Accounting theory and practice for business combinations, consolidations, intercompany transactions, foreign operations, statements of cash flow, and other selected topics.
ACC422 Accounting Information Systems
This course addresses problems and issues related to computer-based accounting information systems. It presents fundamental principles of systems development for performing general financial accounting and management accounting functions with emphasis on internal controls.
*Students should consult their home state requirements if they desire to seek the CPA or CMA designation. The State of Florida requires tbc graduates to enroll in a graduate program and complete 15 graduate hours prior to receiving the CPA designation.
Criminal Justice Program
The purpose of the Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice is to prepare men and women to begin careers in a variety of criminal justice fields. Students will be exposed to practical skills needed in the field of criminal justice.
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice offered at Trinity College of Jacksonville is for the student who desires to begin their career in a higher entry-level position or aspires to be in criminal justice management. This program can typically be completed in four years and requires advanced courses in criminal law, constitutional law, criminalistics, and ethics.
Taught by faculty who are trained and experienced in the field, this excellent program of study trains students to effectively and properly use the criminal justice system to aid and protect the community.
As a conclusion to this program of study, students are required to fulfill an in-field internship with a local law enforcement agency.
TCJ's 3+1 Criminal Justice program is ideal for students who seek a career in law enforcement and corrections. This new program allows students to graduate with a 4-year degree in tandem with their required police academy training. This is realized through TCJ's partnership with FSCJ.
This new program meets a need in the State of Florida, creating an opportunity for students to study Criminal Justice with a Christian worldview, while also meeting state requirements in a time- and budget- conscious program.
The Jacksonville [Florida] Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Florida require a four-year college degree to join a force or advance in rank within an administrative unit and requires individuals to complete police academy training in a facility approved by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission as a condition for hiring eligibility.
By partnering with FSCJ, tbc can offer FSCJ’s value proposition with the addition of the Christian worldview experience.
tbc will offer the first three years of the program’s courses through in-person, on-campus and online instruction and educational activities on the Jacksonville, FL campus. Participating students will complete their fourth year through in-person, on-campus instruction at the FSCJ training facility.
Students enrolled in the program will be transient students in their fourth year of undergraduate work. The tbc Registrar’s Office and Criminal Justice faculty will be responsible for mentoring and transitioning eligible students into transient course work at FSCJ.

Psychology Program
The B.S. degree in Psychology at tbc will equip students to impact their community through an understanding of the mind, body, and soul that is informed by a biblical worldview. Graduates will be skilled at recognizing psychological impacts and engaging with and supporting mental health and responsibility.

Master of Arts in Bible (M.A.)
The degree is designed for those seeking advanced work in Biblical Studies. The focus is on expanding your practical Bible knowledge coupled with ministry application courses. This program can serve as a springboard into an M.Div. program.

We would love nothing more than to help you to attain this milestone. Earning your bachelor’s degree may open a variety of new opportunities including better pay at your current job, new job opportunities, graduate school, and certainly the satisfaction of completing an important goal.
Trinity College of Jacksonville offers a program designed to help individuals complete that important first step: earning a bachelor’s degree. The Interdisciplinary Studies program is designed for individuals who have 60 or more college credits but have not completed their four-year degree.

The Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies with an Interdisciplinary Studies concentration requires 128 credit hours composed of the following:
• 30 hours of Bible (at least 15 credits from TCJ) including Old and New Testament Survey and Bible Doctrines I and II
• 44 Hours of General Education courses – English, Speech, History, Math/Science, Humanities/Fine Arts, and Behavioral/Social Sciences
• A 16 hour component – classes in a related area like education, pastoral theology, music, leadership, or just about any area tbc offers! We can even build a component from coursework completed somewhere else or from credit earned for military service.
• A 9 hour component – same as above, just fewer hours
• 29 hours of electives
• Your last class has to be taken through TCJ
• At least 30 hours must be completed in 300 and 400 level courses
We will do an evaluation of your college work, including classes you took at TCJ and any other post-secondary institution. Did you serve in the army, navy, or air force? You may be eligible for credits if you served in the U.S. military. We can provide more information on that if you are interested.
Based on your evaluation we can determine how many hours you have to complete your degree. Some students have completed their bachelor’s degree in as little as one semester!
You have several options for completing courses:
• If you’re in the Jacksonville area, you can attend classes on campus. Evening options are available in some cases
• TCJ offers online courses. Each course is 8 weeks in length and offered entirely online so you can complete it anywhere you have internet access. Courses begin six times a year making it convenient to get started very quickly!
• You can take courses at a local college convenient to your current job or ministry or you can take online courses from a variety of sources. We’ll help guide you to the right courses.
• You may be eligible for financial aid depending on your current situation and the number of credits in which you enroll.
• Opportunity to begin graduate work while completing your undergraduate degree. With the right GPA you may be able to dual enroll in our Master of Arts or Master of Education program while you complete your undergraduate degree.
Graduates of TCJ's Interdisciplinary Studies program gain experience across a variety of academic and ministry pursuits. Our alumni office actively works to connect graduates with potential places of service.
