Fasching

One of the best parts of living in Germany is joining in the local celebrations. This year the elementary school hosted a Fasching parade (remember, Fasching is the Bavarian's version of Mardi Gras). Here is the school's mascot, a dragon.

Bailey's class dressed up as historical figures, then confused everyone by wearing masks and carrying Mardi Gras-type decorations. It was super fun! Bailey was the Puritan, Anne Hutchinson. Can you tell? I'd love to get a real Puritan's take on Fasching. Ha ha!

I downloaded the next two photos from the elementary school's flickr account.

TJ's class dressed up as the characters in Cinderella. TJ was the pumpkin before it turned into a coach.

David had a blast watching the parade. He received a ton of candy and even some balloons. He is super excited to be in the parade next year.

TJ earns his yellow belt

TJ has been taking karate classes for the past few months. He loves it! This week, he was able to pass off the requirements necessary to earn his yellow belt. He is so happy! I'm so glad he gets to do something he loves.
