Mom and Dad visit D.C.

Mom and Dad flew out to D.C. this past Thursday for a long weekend of eating, lounging, movie-watching, and just enough touristy stuff for them to feel good -- or at least not bad -- about the trip. But that wasn't the point anyway -- the point was to see their grandson Hudson ... and I guess to see me, Brian and Rachel as well, though it's obvious he was the main attraction, since the folks didn't make funny faces, weird noises and cooing sounds to any of us. Here are some pics of the trip. We had a great time with them and loved having them in our home! We can't wait to get Hudson back out to California -- especially before he turns two and we have to pay for a third plane ticket.

Charlie is so patient with Hudson; we couldn't ask for a better dog to grow up with him. I swear Charlie's ears are about at least an eighth of an inch longer from all the tugging.

That gleam in Charlie's eye isn't from the camera. He literally lights up when he looks at Rachel. He loves her almost as much as I do.

I look pretty freaky, so hone in on Hudson's cute smile here.

Believe it or not, Brian was giddy on the inside.

Hudson hates grass. You put him down on it, and he's paralyzed. Doesn't like the texture, I guess, so he just sat there and looked around.

Is it legal to post pictures like this? Whatever the answer, it HAS to be illegal to have such a nice tush at such a young age.

Let's see if we can try this again

For some reason, Blogspot, way back in October or so, got stingy and wouldn't allow me to post more pictures -- something about already having used all my alloted space, which was odd, considering my sisters have posted hundreds more pictures on their blogs without having the same problem. On a whim, I decided to post a bunch of pictures this morning, just to see if it would work, and voila!, it did!

Going back in time a bit, here are a bunch of pics I got from Mom's camera when she was in town this weekend; they're of our trip to L.A. back in October. In my next post (fingers firmly crossed that Blogspot won't ruin it by telling me I've reached my limit again), I'll put up some pictures from Mom and Dad's trip to D.C. this past weekend.

Cousin Seth is probably explaining how handy his new calculator watch is. "For instance, let's say I'm on a date and and the server gives me the bill. What's the tip? How do you figure that out? Well, I've got this watch, you see, and all I have to do is ... "
