Building the AI Ecosystem of Tomorrow
Massachusetts is rapidly becoming a global center for AI innovation, supported by initiatives like the Massachusetts AI Hub.
Building on this vibrant ecosystem, Red Hat and IBM are joining forces to explore the creation of The Open Accelerator (TOA). This new incubation initiative, based in Boston, is designed to empower the next generation of early-stage AI startups.
We are building this program for the community, which is why we must build it with the community.
Our Mission
To provide more than just funding; we aim to build a true ecosystem for creation, equipping visionary founders with the tools, mentorship, and collaborative environment needed to build and scale transformative AI solutions.
Two new doors open for
Boston's AI Ecosystem
A milestone moment for The Open Accelerator. Today we're opening applications for the TOA Residency Program and launching our brand-new Community Membership Program — two new ways for founders, builders, and supporters to join the city's open-source AI movement.
Applications are now open
Join the next cohort of AI founders building inside The Open Accelerator. Workspace, mentorship, GPU access, and a community of builders pushing the open-source frontier.
Community Membership Program
Not building a startup — but want to be part of the open-source AI movement in Boston? Membership opens up events, mentorship circles, and the wider TOA community.
An important milestone for TOA — and for the open-source AI builders calling Boston home.
