Tidbits

Yeah for the Home Depot "car cart"! Of course, if there were old ladies in Home Depot, you'd probably turn one into a speed bump with this thing if you weren't careful!

Image Millcreek Canyon is the new favorite family place.

These animals were worth every cent of the ten bucks we paid for them in the airport... Mike played with them... and fed them.. the whole plane ride home from Chicago!

Image
He gets it from his Dad. (Don's sleeping whenever, wherever that is)

Image
Mike LOVES tractors and this was his first tractor ride at Grandma Susie's house in Ohio.

Don was so stoked about his new mower that he used it before I returned home from Enrichment... with Matty you see

Image

This explains why he wasn't very pleased most of the time...

You get to see this in reverse order, but Mike got his first Bike!! And he rode it ALL the TIME for the first couple days and still loves it!

Don and I decided it'd be kind've fun to check out a bike store... when I told Mikey we were going, he got all excited and said "Mikey... pick one!". It was then that I remember a book we'd checked out that week from the library... about a frog going to pick out a bike at the bike store with his dad, ha! I guess we just gave in at that point.

Image Ha, This picture was taken on temple square and I put it in here, because it makes me laugh that it turned out this way.

This is the permanent blue truck in front of our house that Don loathes. The boys don't think it's so bad :)ImageMike loves playing in the car

Today, Matty was his co-pilot

Randomness

These are pretty old, but I just recieved them from my mother-in-law of Matthew's blessing. Such a Cutie!

Mikey loves a number of things: cars, trucks, tractors, Nemo, trains, buses, Lightning McQueen. I'd say the majority of my creative outlet these days is building a "garage" for these items. Building materials include pillows, story books, legos, hymn books and in this case... snow.

Mikey was so pleased when Daddy built him a snow garage for McQueen.

Image This is Matthew, Ha! He's really into this nose snuffing/snorting/sniffing thing. I love it! This is after his first spagetti experience. After this meal, I came to conclusion that: Spagetti is the quickest/easiest meal to prepare and the longest/messiest to clean up after.

I absolutely adore my two little boys!! Except maybe after the time I had to fish a wooden puzzle piece out of the depths of the toilet bowl hole... and today when I asked Mikey where Matthew's binky was... he smiled... and I said "Did you throw it in the garbage?" (meaning, back at the postoffice garbage)... Mikey, matter-of-factly, "Yeah". UGH!

Out of Sick Days

Image
About two days ago, I was frustrated when I wasn't feeling well and realized sickdays aren't included as a benefit in the Motherhood Career Package (someone forgot to mention that along with flung-flying poo and vomit puddling down my shirt). I longed for the days when my mom would bring me Advil, water and soup while I spent the day on the couch dozing in and out of chickflicks. Again today, as I was lying Matthew down for an early nap thinking yesterday was a long day and he'd feel good getting extra shut-eye, I thought, "Man, what I'd give for someone to put me down for a nap with my favorite blanket after a long day!"

That's when it hit me, my own mom never got a sick day, scheduled nap and I definitely recall a story of a certain child not only throwing up , but simutaneously peeing their pants while on her lap... in the middle of the night... in the car... on a road trip to Ohio (where or how do you even begin to clean that one up!).

Moral of the story? I guess it's my time to pay it forward. Thanks to a great mom who gave me enough sick days and naps to hopefully carry me through while serving my own children. I love you mom!

Oregon!

Image Mike really enjoyed riding this bike up and down the path. He'd say "Mikey... fast!". I looked out the window and saw that Daddy had found himself a toy as well :)

Image Little happy Matty.

The boys and I had a great time in Oregon this last week! We went to welcome home Don's little sis Rach from her mission in Texas. We really enjoying seeing all the family and catching up with Rachel. Mikey loved the plane ride, ha! Matthew started sitting confidently by himself the first day we got there! Perfect, huh? Matty loves eating! If you're holding the spoon, watch out... you'll never be shoveling fast enough for him :) Mike was excited to see the Portland Temple. He's really into Temples these days; he likes me to build Temples with legos for his matchbox cars, ha.

Mikey was so excited about the Christmas lights :) He really wanted to wear them. The Nativity was also a big hit. He was so excited about Joseph whom he calls "Jesus-God". He liked giving them all kisses and was sure to give them all kisses goodnight too. Matthew is still the happiest little chunk! He just smiles and chats. He's the happiest baby in the world when someone's talking to him. Forget food... he won't do ANYTHING but smile if someones talking to him. I have to hold a straight face in order to get him to finish a bottle. Mike and Matt are cute brothers. Mike is always excited when he hears Matthew wake up and Matt is always smiling at Mikey.

Okay, this post is more of a photo dump... aren't they all though? Things are going real well in our neck of the woods :) Mike and Matty are so fun! Mike is growing up more everyday! I can't believe some of the things he says or does and sweet little Matty is turning into a chunk (an extrememly happy chunk :) Matthew is ALWAYS smiling! And Mike is always discovering! Some of the pictures here are from Mike and Don's Birthdays, our trip to St. George for the marathon, Mike and Don in the yard, Frostie, Christmas tree hunting, etc. :)
