We carved pumpkins last night and had to get some pictures before all the snow comes tumbling down!

Mary has been really sick this weekend with a fever. I finally took her to the doctor today and she has strep throat. It was so bad that there was a rash that appeared today. (How many points do I get for that? I'm such a winner mom!)

Anyway, I ended up taking Sam and Sarah to their friends' houses for late nights on Saturday night because we couldn't all do something together because Mary was sick. She said, 'Mom, I'm sorry I'm all the trouble!' She was feeling really bad that we couldn't do something fun because she was sick.

It was too cute. Get well my sweet child.

Fall is my favorite time of year

It's been forever since I've posted anything, so I thought I'd show you a little of fall at our house. I love the red bush in the front and had to get a picture of it before all the leaves fall off. It's so beautiful! The cornstalks are from my garden. They didn't produce any corn but at least I had some stalks for decoration.

To Germany, with love (or WE LOVE FALL!)

Last Saturday, my sisters and I had a fun outing. We went to one of our favorite bakeries, Schmidt's Pastry Cottage, and had sandwiches and mint cookies, eclairs, and brownies. Then we headed up to Oktoberfest to see some of the fall foliage and check out the festivities. It was just fun to be up there at Snowbird. It has to be one of the most beautiful ski resorts anywhere. We love it! There was many things to do but our favorite was people-watching and listening to the fun polka music. It's always a sight to see the old German gentlemen with the laderhosen that is too short and too tight. (Eewww, gross!) There was a booth sponsored by the Snowbird Spa, so we were able to get 10 min free massages on the chairs. It was wonderful. Thanks dear sisters for the fun time. Love you!

Three Forks Trail--Hot springs

This was on the way back down the trail. It was so beautiful.

Saturday we took the kids and hiked up to these fun hot springs. It was 4.5 mile round trip. There was minimal wailing and gnashing of teeth but we made it! Yeah for us! It was great fun!

Ok, to add to the accidents lately...

Yesterday Mary and Sarah and Kennon were playing dress-ups. Mary put on her witch costume that I made a couple of years back, and she came running in to me and said, 'Hey Mom, look I'm a Bitch, (slight pause) I'm a witch!'

Serena and I were standing there just biting our tongues trying not to laugh. She had no idea what she had said only that at first it sounded slightly wrong, then she got it right.
