Random story

When I was in High school I had several cars (no one told me once you put oil in it doesn’t stay forever and you have to check it…ok maybe they did but I wasn’t listening) Regardless of the car my hair would always get caught in the window. Electric or manual, as soon as I would roll it up, I would have to roll it back down remove my caught hair then roll it up again. Well, being the mature and aware of my surroundings person that I am now, or is that I actually care now about my hair getting messed up from an open window? Well whatever the case it hadn’t happened in a long time…until last week. I was doing errands on a glorious sunny day and decided to open the sun roof in my car. I saw in the rearview mirror my hair was flying upward which I thought was comical until I decided to close the sunroof. Déjàvu. My hair got caught in the sunroof. I pushed the button as fast as I could to release my hair, but alas there were a few casualties stuck in the rubber seal and flapping in the wind. Oy!

Tom and Veronica

Craziness full steam ahead. This last weekend was a whirlwind. Saturday was a church cleaning day and we had droves of ASL students come and help. So much was accomplished my head is still spinning. It was fabulous! I am exhausted. I never knew organizing/overseeing could be so tiring. Friday afternoon after a quick lunch with mom, helping at a funeral, and a dr appointment with Brancent (this was my day "off"-it's always the busiest day of my week!) I took some pictures of our friends Tom and Veronica. They are getting married this Saturday and the photographer is yours truly. I am sooooooo nervous. I wasn't this nervous when I got married. Something about having the fate of the visual record of a couples most momentous occasion be in your hands....little nerve-wracking. So like when I shot Jared an Pattys wedding I will pray for God's mercy and shoot away. Here are some of the couples pics we did last Friday.

Just for fun pictures

ImageGrandma got a new washer that is better than TV!

ImageHey look! Dad is signing "sit"!

ImageI am getting to touch the remote control!

ImageWe had the stroller out in the living room one night and of course Jacob started playing with it. Next thing we knew he was standing on the foot rest and trying to climb in. (He also has started trying to climb the baby gate and the side of the bath tub....)

My wiggle worms photo shoot

I decided instead of taking Jacob to have his pictures done I would save some money and do them myself at home with my Nikon D40 (Digital SLR). My hats off to photographers that take kids pictures when they are old enough to be mobile, but not quite able to take direction. Nelva was there to help and I think we were both worn out by the time we got done. I actually got a couple shots I was pleased with so here are a few.

Jacob's 9 month check up

Brancent and I took Jacob for his 9 month check up this morning. He weighed 20.6 lbs (50th percentile) and was 29 1/2 inches long (75th percentile). Our car seat goes up to 30 lbs and 32 inches so we are praying it last until he is one...which is approaching way to quickly!

Random Fess ups

It's been a long time so some of these are from way back...here goes.

1. I did not let Jacob pick toilet paper off an almost empty roll just to keep him busy so I could finish putting on my make up.

2. I did not take a picture of myself while driving. I likewise was not tempted to put a sultry look on my face, roll down the window and tell the person next to me "this is for my personal website" before laughing hysterically and driving away.

3. I do not have a sick sense of humor

4. I did not raid the chocolate stash in the preschool room 4 times last week....Sorry Lib, I'll buy some more.

5. If I ruled the country I would not give lower tax refunds to those that use government programs like medicaid, food stamps, WIC, Hud...

6. I am not still terrified Jacob will stop breathing in his sleep....Melissa does that ever go away???

7. I do not know my husband is up to something when his messages start with "honey baby...."

8. I do not screen my calls when I am at home

9. I do not secretly enjoy watching NASCAR with my hubby

10. I did not get a Nikon D40 SLR last week...nor did I profit from circuit city liquidating

Look for new pics from my D40 coming soon. I'll be shooting a wedding at the end of this month so I will be practicing a lot!

Pasta!

Last week we had pasta twice. I love my carbs :) One night we had whole wheat spiral pasta and a few nights later we had angel hair pasta. I gave Jacob the cooked pasta thinking he would probably play with it. Nope....he ate it like he was starving and wanted more. Jacob is doing good and cruising all over the house. His new favorite thing to do is crawl into his bedroom and play with all his bedroom toys....and whatever he can pull off the changing table. Brancent is good, trying to sell his boat, if anyone is interested call me! Katie is well other than having strep last week. She has been having some trouble in school so please keep her in your prayers. She is very sensitive so when kids make fun of her family it takes her heart awhile to recover. All that said here are some recent pictures. ImageBrancent said he looked like a catfish....cutest one I've ever seen!
ImageFinger painting with ketchup, mustard, and applesauce
(Afterwords I caught him licking the tray)

Thanks to Libby for finding me a cute background. Melissa was going to make me one but I never sent her pics (I honestly don't have any recent ones of me that are decent...someday). You girls are whizzes!
