Maddyisms
This past week Maddy was saying a prayer and was praying for things like family to be safe, to have good dreams and ....that she could be a veteran! After the prayer I asked her if she knew what a veteran was and she replied with, "Yes mom! It's someone who takes care of animals and makes them better when they are sick." He he...she meant a veterinarian. :)

SNOW!!
So this week was exciting in that we got snow here in Texas before Pennsylvania did! It was less than an inch but it covered the ground. So it counts. I walked out of work on Saturday and the ground was white from frost...it was beautiful. I think it got down to 29 degrees on Saturday morning. We have been thoroughly pleased the with cold weather here in Texas. It makes me homesick for PA, but it is very nice.
Other news this week.. I had to take Emmy to the doctors on Tuesday night because she's been coughing for four weeks now. It was really raining hard and on the way home a car ran through an intersection with out stopping. She missed us by 20 ft. or 5 seconds. I watched as she drove through to the other side of the street and got hit by an ambulance. I had to stay and witness for the accident and the whole time I was standing there in the freezing rain I was just so grateful that it hadn't been me. The lady would have hit us on the side that Emmy was sitting on and she wouldn't have had time to break...I never would have seen her coming. It could have been really bad. I'm so grateful that everyone was ok.
Emmy turns 2 today!! There will be pictures to follow and stats after her 2 year dr appt. later this week. I can't believe my baby will be two. Oh how the time flies.
Not much else happened this past week. Finals are coming up and Adam has 13 days until Graduation. :) We are very excited. 14 days until we leave for PA and 18 days until Christmas. Hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Thanksgiving
This week Adam was able to stay home with us ALL week! He spent most of his days relaxing and playing video games.
We did have a busy week. Monday I had a dentist appointment to get 4 cavities filled. Two on each side of my mouth just on the bottom. I got 3 shots of Novocaine on the left....and 7 on the right. My mouth didn't get completely numb until I sat up to leave....but the good news is I didn't feel anything none the less. I came home that morning and slept off the heavy dose of Novocaine.
Tuesday was grocery shopping...woohoo! And I had a math exam...which went very well.
Wednesday our house was invaded by the poop and pukes. Yay. It was very short lived, however, which was nice. We had to reschedule our family pics. So another day of relaxing and napping on all accounts.
Thursday was a fun filled day of cooking, family, football, games and food. We went to Mike and Lanie's for dinner around two. It was delicious. Lanie had her mom, dad and sister in town. Matt and Jeanne and the boys were there too. It was a fun time had by all. I got up that morning at 8 am and made dinner rolls and sugar cookies. It took alot of work...but it was well worth the effort. Adam made the green bean casserole all by him self and it didn't kill anyone! He did a great job. I'll make a cook out of him yet! We stayed very late at Mike and Lanie's playing games.
Friday we got our family pics taken. They turned out GREAT!!! Emmy did a fantastic job of showing her smile on demand. We have pics for all the family and those of you lucky enough to get a Christmas card...if you want to view the online album send me an email and I'll share it with you.
We are thankful for family, friends and our health. And this year we are especially thankful that Adam is able to graduate. We are so excited for him. He did a great job and it's finally over...until his Master's. After Dec 20 he will be official! Great job honey!

Bowling
So to break out of our boring shells...this week we decided the girls bowling. But before I get a head of my self....I must start at the begining of the week.
Sunday was Adam and I's 6th wedding anniversary. I got to stay home Saturday so we kinda celebrated by ordering out Chinese and putting the girls to bed early. Sunday we stayed home from church and slept in...the girls let us, too...how nice of them. :) Then Sunday night we had dinner at Matt and Jeanne's to celebrate Mike's b day! I made the yummy cupcake cake....but no pics. Maddy loved helping to decorate it.
I ended up having to work Sunday night...boo. But at least I got to spend Saturday with Adam. Wednesday we decided to really celebrate our anniversary by taking out our accomplishments of 6 years of marriage for a night a fun. Why celebrate alone when you can do it as a family...isn't that what started six years ago?
So we took the girls out for dinner at Sweet Tomatoes and then went bowling. It was so fun! Yet again...no pics. We got the bumpers and the "slide" for the girls and they had a blast. The slide is the ramp that they let little kids use to give the ball some umph. Emmy loved pushing the ball, then clapping and saying "I did it!". She beat me by 3 points the first game and then I beat her the second game by 4 points. I never in my life thought I would get beat by my or any 2 year old at bowling. Maddy always came in last but never noticed for all the fun she was having! Adam always blew the rest of us out of the park. He's so good. It was GREAT fun had by all!
Then Thursday I went out with some girls from work to see the movie New Moon. It was great. I was nervous that I wouldn't like it because I really didn't like the first one. But my fears were for naught. It was great...the director did a great job on this one. It followed the book very well and didn't add much. I had a great time getting out of the house and spending time with friends.
That was our week and it was full of fun...ok so maybe we aren't that boring! :)
Chris...I will add the recipe on another post...since I'm at work and don't have it with me!

Nothing New
So the post for this week is nothing exciting...you may just want to skip over it. We are the MOST boring people around. There really is nothing to tell. I stayed home from work last weekend because I was sick...woo hoo. Feeling better now, thanks. Maddy's had a good week in school, only one day did she come home saying it was a bad day because she threw a fit in class. We've been getting notes from her teacher saying that Maddy is having a hard time with her classmates. Maddy finally got the flu vaccine this week. She was thrilled to death that it wasn't a shot. She got the mist thingy up her nose. The whole way to the Dr. office..."Are you sure mommy I'm not going to get a shot?" The whole time in the waiting room "Momma are you sure?" and even on the way into the room with the nurse standing there..."Momma, it's not a shot right, just up my nose?" And before she knew it...it was done. Two sprays up her nose and she is done. Now hopfully she won't get the flu and bring it home to Emmy who can't have the vaccine for another 3 weeks. Emmy is still sick (cold sick). We found out that she is borderline anemic. That could have alot to do with her still being sick. Poor baby. She is the cutest non baby ever!! (she is still my baby, but will be two in 3 weeks...technically not a baby anymore :( She still loves to sing and has started cheering when there are sports on. If it's basketball...Go Rockets!! Football...Go Texans!! It doesn't matter who's playing, it's the Rockets and Texans. She is the most loving kid around. She loves to give hugs and kisses and has started saying love you too! But it sounds more like lutoooooo!! Adam is still dealing with idiots at work. Students and administration alike. Not too much like I said.

Lazy days home with mom!
I have a bunch of random pics of Emmy. I love being able to have time with just Emmy everyday! I'm pretty sure she likes it too! Emmy is starting to count to ten on her own. She needs a little help getting started but can pretty much get to ten with out help. She loves copying Maddy no matter what it is. She loves to sing. Any time you ask her a yes or no question and she answers with a yes it's usually "yes sir, yes sir three bags full." She loves to cuddle too...that's my favorite! We just had a wic appointment and they weighed Emmy and did her height. She is 32 inches tall and 23 lbs. 25th percentile for height and 10th for weight. She is still our petite little one, totally opposite of her sister. (Maddy is 95th percentile in both height and weight) So enjoy our little bug...we sure do!!

Ok, so it is now 5 days after Halloween and I'm just now getting to post. World's worst mom ever award! Anywho....so here are the girls getting ready for Halloween, getting cards from Gram for Halloween and the actual night of Halloween. Now I must say, Halloween is not my favorite holiday. But when the girls come away from the evening happy...it makes it all worth it. So with out further ado, The girls and their Halloween!

A promise is a promise...and I broke it.
So as some of you may notice it's been two weeks since I've last blogged. Bad news is...I broke my promise...good news is we've been busy enjoying life!! I tried to blog yesterday with pictures but for some reason it would only download my pics as files which then meant I couldn't rearrange them the way I wanted. I spent two hours working on it and trying to figure out what was going on to no avail. :( So you get a boring update until I can figure out what's going on and add pics.
Last week we made Halloween cookies to take to my sisters that I visit teach. Maddy loved decorating them and I loved handing them out. Emmy... she just loved smearing the icing everywhere. This week we (I) carved pumpkins! They turned out super cute. The last couple of weeks we've been injury free. Maddy somewhere happened to find and get ring worm. Yummy. She is currently ring worm free. I have no idea where she got it from, unless it's from her boyfriend Jordan when he kissed her.... sigh.
Adam has been busy grading papers and trying to convince himself not to quit his job. He really doesn't like it and it doesn't help when his 11th grade honor students write papers with words like "blonded"(as in the blonded haired woman) and "watcheded". I just want to ask...what is wrong with people? Are our kids really this stupid? This is Honors English? I know I'm not an English genius and I have no clue about punctuation other than what goes at the end of a sentance...but please. This is our future. It looks pretty bleak from here. Anyway, I digress.
I have been studying like crazy and passing my classes. I had two major exams this week and passed one with flying colors and the other I'm pretty sure I did well on. I won't know the official out come until Tuesday. I never thought I would say this...but I actually enjoy Math. It makes a difference when you actually grasp what is going on. Who'da thunk?
I really wish I could remember more of what was going on this week...but alas..I haven't had any sleep since yesterday. I will add pictures. Don't give up on me just yet.

Pictures!!
Ok, here are the pics that I've been promising! Please go back to the post for the bunk beds to see the bunk bed pics. To see Emmy's swollen eye go back to the crazy week post. I've updated those two posts. I did not however, put the pictures from the pumpkin patch into the crazy week post because I couldn't find a good way to squeeze them in. So here they are in all their glory! Sweet Maddy and Emmy. I did add a few pics from last year just for comparison. If you want to see all of the pics from last year, I posted them in October of last year!
