Cell phone photo catch-up

Remember a few years ago, when blogging was all the rage? Now, if you get on your friends blogs they haven't been updated in like 2yrs. And it just takes so much time to get on here and update the darn thing, but you still have that one stubborn relative that just wont get on Facebook and keep up with your life that way. (if I keep mentioning it, they will eventually, right?)
We haven't been doing too much, it's been a relatively un-busy winter. I battled a sinus infection that lasted 9wks (cuz I'm just that stubborn about going to the dr) and we just finished the 3rd coldest January in Utah history. We have pretty much just hibernated in our house for the last couple months, and probably will for a couple more. But, here is a quick run down of some stuff we did do:

Hadley & I helped with a skit at pack meeting. We rocked it.

Preschool field trips

Devin's class did a display at the Grist Mill pumpkin walk.

Image

We went to Cornbelly's. See how happy Hadley looks? That's pretty much our life right now. Pre-teen hormones, they will be the death of me.
Image

We won most original costume at the neighborhood Halloween party.

Image

Lot's of s'mores around the fire pit.

Image

Hadley got to be a zombie in a charity spook alley.

Soccer season ended.

Lexi has learned that sometimes it's no fun being the little sister.

Image

My baby turned 5. FIVE people!! I am a little sad:( She had a ballerina birthday party with these awesome cupcakes my friend made.

Image

I made these awesome mustache Christmas decor items for my nieces. Cuz they are teenagers and there is some weird fad going on with mustaches. I don't understand it, but I just roll with it cuz I'm awesome like that.
Image

There was a winter dance recital.

Image

Basketball season started. Devin was on two teams this year, our local jr stallions league and a comp team in SLC. Hadley started struggling with plantar fasciitis and ended up in a boot for most of the winter so he got out of basketball. Today was his first day w/ no boot. Hoping it cleared up the problem and baseball/soccer season won't be affected.

Our annual Olson-Willie Temple Square Christmas outing.

New cousins

As one of our family Christmas gifts, we went to Vegas to watch our Boise State Broncos play in the Las Vegas Bowl. It was so much fun. The boys got their pics with several players after the game.

We made cookies for Santa

The kids opened their Christmas Eve jammies.

Santa came.

Image

The boys begged to combine their Christmas budget (we do the Dave Ramsey financial plan so we've talked to them about budgets a lot) and get an Xbox. They got it, and were/are thrilled.
Image

We scored awesome t-shirts.

Image

And fun family games.

Image

We rang in the New Year with great friends and some rousing board games.

My son looks like a drunk in this picture:)

We learned Hadley does not like kisses. Even from sisters.

Image

These two turned 12 & 9. I am way too young to have a 12yr old!! He is starting to do things and hit milestones that I remember like they were yesterday. crazy!

Image

Who needs to pay for tokens when you're thin enough to fit in the machine and get the balls out yourself?

Image

Hadley was ordained a Deacon and given the Aaronic Priesthood. Crazy pants!!
as you can tell by his face...he may be growing up numerically, but not really:)

Image

This should have been up near the top cuz it was in November. We had our final Twilight midnight premiere. It was so much fun! We even did some news interviews and ended up on tv on two different channels. We definitely went out with a bang and I will sure miss our excuse for a crazy GNO!

So, that's been our winter as seen thru my cell phone camera:)
Now back to hibernating for a couple more months.

2012 Kids Pictures

I decided that instead of paying $100 on crappy school pics this year, we would just go to Fotofly again. This time we went to their outdoor location Fotofly Away. I've said it before and I will always
say...don't go anywhere else for pics!!

They did such a great job, and we walked away with 2 cd's full of pics instead
of the usual 1...don't worry, I wont bore you with endless pics of my kids, although,
they are pretty darn good lookin!:) These are just my faves that ended up on our walls at home.

Last minute summer trip.

The beginning of August, I was sitting around one afternoon and I realized that between swim lessons and my surgery (bye bye gallbladder)...we only had one weekend left of no commitments before school started. I decided I didn't want to sit around and do nothing so I packed up really quick and the kids and I headed out for Eastern Idaho.
On the agenda: a day at Yellowstone Bear World, a day at Lava Hot Springs and a day river floating in Island Park.
For those who don't know, I grew up in Eastern Idaho, due to the strained family ties now there...I don't go back much. I went back for my 15yr high school reunion this summer and it made me realize that I don't have to stay away just because I'm not in touch with family anymore. We can go and have lots of fun! The kids had a lot of fun and hopefully we can go back more often.

We went to Bear World and the kids loved it! I had been once as a kid when it first opened
but it is much better now. We did the tour on the truck and when we were finished we followed the next tour out so that we could be right behind the truck and see more bears.

please ignore the bug guts on my windshield:)

I've said it before, blogger has changed and I can't figure out how to put pictures in any sort of order
so I apologize for the random-ness of them:)

We stayed right by the falls in Idaho Falls, the kids enjoyed walking the green belt and hearing
all about back in the day when dad & mom lived there. (I'm telling myself they loved it anyway)

The indoor pool at Lava Hot Springs

The slides and diving platforms. It took him most of the day but Hadley eventually
went off all 3 levels of the diving platforms.
Image

The 'speed slides' they were fast and the boys loved them.

Starting off our river ride in Island Park. At first, the kids were like "this is it? we are just gonna sit
in this boat for 3 hours?!" within 30 minutes they were loving it and we were all sad
when it was over.
