St. George 2012

ImageWe had a much more successful trip to St. George this year than last!  Last year all of Cade's baseball games got rained out, and Kylee played through rain, snow, mud...and more mud!
Cade's team played really well, they made it to the semi finals.  Cade played awesome, he got some great hits, and had some great fielding as well.  I love to watch baseball.  I could watch it every day!

Such a little stud!

Kylee's team played awesome as well.  They went 3-0 in pool play.  Ky had an awesome tournament.  She had 5 goals, including 1 header!  She hit 2 PK's.  Her team tied in regulation, and over time in the final game.  They didn't play too hot, but they didn't lose either.  The final game went to penalty kicks to decide the game.  It kind of stinks to go to that point, but when you have Darryl (ky's goal keeper), you don't worry too much!

Here is the picture of Kylee taking her penalty kick.  She was the first to go from both teams...she was calm and collected the whole time!  She nailed it, the goalie didn't even move...all of the 4 girls on our team made their PK's, and our awesome goalie blocked all 3 of the other teams shots!  It was so awesome!

This is pretty much what Halle did for 3 days straight!  She watched 5 baseball games, and 6 soccer games!  She is such a trooper!
Image
Kylee has played in this tournament 3 years in a row, 2 years with girls from Lone Peak, and this year with her club team.  Her team has won it every year!  Way to go Ky!

So proud of my kids, and the great kids they are becoming!

Halle's 9th Birthday!

ImageHalle...my youngest...my baby turned 9.  I can't wrap my mind around the fact that she is 9.  These last 9 years have seriously flown by.  She has certainly grown into a young lady!  She is all girl, she is all drama, she is sugar and spice!  I love this girl!
She wanted a super fancy cake...ok let's get real, she wanted a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting...this is what she got!  She loved it, she decorated it herself (you can't tell from this picture, but there are sugar sprinkles in every pastel color on the cake...she also put the candles in) she thought it was the greatest cake ever...so it was success!

Image

For her party, she decided to go bowling.  This was a huge win win for both of us!  Last year we did a party at home, and I almost had a coronary.  We spent half of the price, they bowled for 2 hours, had pizza, cake and soda!  The mess was left there, and they had a blast!

ImageHalle & Kate.  These 2 are funny.  They have so much fun together!

ImageShe got the coolest gift from her friend Sadie, it was a fairy garden that she got to create.  She painted the flower, and then placed the dirt and seeds in the bowl.  She then decorated it like a little fairy land.  We watered it and with in a couple of weeks it had grass and flowers, it was so cool, and she loved it.  We however forgot to have someone water it while we were in St. George...we came home to a dead fairy land!
Happy Birthday Hal-bug.  You are such a sweet girl, I am so thankful that you are mine!

Playing Catch-up...Cade's 12th Birthday!

Where did the time go??  My little Cade turned 12 on Nov. 29, 2011.  I literally can't believe that he is that old.  He is such a handsome, caring, sweet, talented young man.

Image

He didn't know that he was having a party, we kept putting it off, because we had a surprise party planned for him and his friend Mike.  We had the party at a laser tag place in Provo.  The boys met there, and surprised Cade and Mike as they walked in.  He was excited, and scared...  Look at this picture, all of these boys are the same age...isn't it crazy how much they grow during this time?  Some of these boys weigh more than Clay!
ImageCade recieved the Priesthood, and it was so awesome, because both of our parents were there, as well as my grandpa.  I am so thankful that I still have a grandpa that lives close enough to be involved in those important times in my kids lives.

Image

So proud of this young man.  He takes this calling very serious, and he looks so handsome in his new suit!

ImageDuring the Christmas break, he and his best buddy Mason went and did Baptism's for the dead.  It was such a neat time, Mason's grandparents were working at the baptistry, and his grandpa was able to confirm them.  Cade and Mase loved it!
I am so thankful for this handsome little fella in my life.  He is such a great kid!  Love you Cade!

Crazy busy summer = lots of pictures = not a lot of blogging!

This has been by far the craziest, busiest summer ever!
I always thought that I loved to travel.  Not so much any more.  I am over it!
Here is the run down of where we/I have been:
1 week in St. George for Kylee's soccer camp (me, Hal, granny)
1 week in Anaheim for Kylee's national 3 v 3 tournament (me, ky, granny)
1 week in Beaver for Cade's Regional baseball tournament (clay, me, ky, cade, hal, granny & gramps)
1 weekend in Idaho Falls for Cade's baseball tournament (clay & cade)
1 week of girls camp (Ky)
1 week of Trek (Ky)

I have taken what I thought were lots of pictures, but not so much.  I took lots of pictures of the same events...oh well, I tried!

This is a complete picture overload, so if you aren't interested...please leave now!  I have given you fair warning, so here is our summer in a picture barf!

Kylee playing in her first HOME game as a Knight!!!  She is absolutely loving playing for Lone Peak.  She gets to have a high school conditions class for her A4 class, so she will be taken over to the high school every A day.  They have had team lunches every game day, and the older girls have been really nice to the little Freshmen girls!

Her first home game was against Orem...I had to put my Tiger pride aside and cheer loud for the Knights!!!  Oh and Orem stunk, so that made it easier :)

These are all backwards, so apologies are in order.  This is Ky's first time ever wearing the Lone Peak jerseys!!!  They played at Timpview, she played against 8 of the girls from her club team, she was a little nervous, but they did awesome!!!  They are 3-0 for both Varsity/ JV!!!

In the winter/spring Ky's soccer team put together a futsal team to play.  If they took first or second they would qualify to play in the Futsal National tournament in Anaheim in July.  They took first, and so we all agreed we would go to Anaheim...
We were going to fly, but couldn't believe how expensive the flights were, and for 3 days it just wasn't worth it.  So I roped my mom into going with us!  So, Ky, my mom and I headed off to California.  Now, keep in mind the last time I drove to California we drove in a gold station wagon, and we laid in the back and watched a movie.  I also got super car sick and barfed everywhere!!!  So, I was SUPER excited to drive!  We drove the first day and stayed in Vegas (well Henderson), woke up the next morning and drove into California.  Glad I have done that, don't ever want to do it again.  Kylee sat in the back and watched the Harry Potter movies the whole time, so she didn't think it was too bad!

We had fun, we stayed right across the street from Disneyland, and is was SUPER sad that we were that close, and didn't go!  We couldn't justify $105 for about 4 hours of rides...plus everyone said that each line was over an hour long, which equals 3 rides for $105.  We did however walk to down town Disney and eat at this awesome little Mexican restaurant (can't remember the name), and grandma bought Ky a carmel apple.  It was almost like we were there :).

They played great, made it to the finals, and ended up taking second place.  The team the lost to (or got killed by...which ever way you look at it!) is a team from California that is ranked Nationally.  They creamed us 12-0.  It was ugly, but the girls had fun and that was what mattered!

They finished the game, we jumped into the car, and drove straight home.  We only made 4 stops to eat, and have bathroom breaks (we were with my mom)!!

While we were there, we did tons of shopping, we got most of the school shopping done, because there were some awesome stores!  Ky tried on some "sweet" shoes at TJMAXX!

Just starting out the LONG drive!  Hence the smile!

Image
This is more of what we saw when we looked back- her watching a movie on my moms portable DVD player :)
******************************************************************************************
Kylee turned 14 on July 1st, and since I didn't do her own post...here it goes!
She really turned 14, I'm not really old enough to have a 14 year old.  I just graduated High School like 4 years ago...or so I feel!
Image
Ky loves frosting, so we knew we had to get her cake from Costco where everything is bigger and better, especially cakes and frosting!!!

Image
Her actual birthday she was playing in a 3 v 3 tournament in Provo, so we had to celebrate with cupcakes, again from Costco, however the heat was unbearable, so they didn't last long!!!

Image
We got home from California on Sunday night around midnight- she had got to leave for Trek on Tuesday morning at 4:30!!!  This is the only picture I got of her, the excitement was underwhelming!!  She had a great family for Trek, and although it was hard, she had a great time and her testimony grew so much.  It is definitely a once in a life time experience-because once you go, you won't ever want to go again!
*********************************************************************************
Kylee had Lone Peak soccer camp in St. George from the 4-8 of July.  Halle, my mom, and I decided to go down and cheer her on.  There wasn't much cheering on, because we stayed at a completely different hotel, and didn't see her much, because she was with her friends...and moms and little sisters are cool.
We hung out at the pool, shopped, and ate out...besides the horrible heat, it was fun!
Image
On the way home from St. George we shopped in Beaver for some ice cream, and had to get the token picture with Grandma Gale's goose...always dressed up for the occasion!

Beaver...

Cade's city league baseball team won 2nd in the state, so they went to the regionals!! Most of the teams were going to California, or Hawaii, but the 11 year olds got the best pick out of all of them! They went to BEAVER, UT!!! Its true, and we were so happy (mostly because my step grandpa lives there and the room was free!!!). He played teams from all over the West, they only won 1 game, but they had fun. The people down there treated them like royalty! These boys were super stars, and it was awesome! My parents came with us, and they stayed up the canyon in their cabin. We slept at Robert's house, went up the canyon a couple of days, and just hung out in Beaver. Well really we just visited the Cache Valley Cheese store, because they had awesome ice cream and cheese curds!!!

Cade, such a little stud!

Image
Halle & Gramps- she was the only one that caught a fish the whole time!!!

We went up Beaver Canyon and fished, it was so beautiful.  As you will see with how many pictures I took.  I was playing around with my camera (because I didn't feel well) and got some awesome pics!

More National Anthem

We had a great time, it was super relaxing, and nice to just relax!  I however got super sick while we were down there.  I thought I might die.  I found out I had a really bad Kidney infection.  I started antibiotics while I was there, and started to feel a little better, but just went back to the doctor today, because I am not feeling much better...sure enough still have it.  I have had this blasted infection for over a month.  Kinda scary!  Hope this antibiotic helps!

Family Reunion 2011
This year we were supposed to head up Beaver Canyon and stay at the cabin, but the water was so high, and so my parents made alternative plans!  Day 1 we hiked Timp Cave, stayed at Doug & Careys cabin (well Halle did), Day 2 we went up to Park City to ride the Alpine Slide, and then hung out at the cabing again.  So glad Doug and Carey let us use their cabin, it was a blast!

We celebrated my parents 40th wedding anniversary at La Jolla in Riverwoods.  We had a great dinner and a little program.  It turned out great!  Thanks to everyone that helped!

Really I had to put one of Sky in here...isn't she so cute!  She stayed busy watching a movie on Jessi's IPOD!!!

That sums up our summer...hopefully I can stay on top of the bloggin now!  Our life pretty much exists of soccer, baseball, football, and dance!  Hopefully I can find time to update more frequently!
