Still Alive!

So I've decided I have to get better at this blogging stuff...

So since May, things have been going pretty well. Still loving the job and having a week off every other week, but I need to be less of a homebody and get out with friends more. Things with the baby are going well. We are at 19 weeks (20 on Wednesday) and we have found out we will be adding a little girl to the family. I will fully admit that Dustin and I were initially hoping for a boy, but I could not be happier knowing I am having a girl! Dustin is really warming up to the idea also. He's nervous about the dating years... Haha! I am too. Dustin and I didn't really date in High School, just hung out with friends and I'm hoping that is something we can get her to do, but I won't worry about that for 16 years or so. I've been releived to get past the morning sickness phase. I could not eat chocolate at all for about 17 weeks. I've finally started eating it again and it's not making me sick! Thank goodness! We've had the birth defect screenings and everything looks okay so far! I found this awesome app on my phone that is called Baby Center. Every Wednesday, when my week changes, it updates my phone and shows how big the baby is. I always laugh becuase it is food related. When we found out at 6ish weeks, she was a sesame seed, now an herloom tomato. I haven't gotten any belly photos yet since you can't tell I'm pregnant... Damn you french fries, but I'm hoping in the next month or so, it'll be more evident, then I'll do a belly pic. (I'm starting P90X Yoga this week, so I'll see if that helps!)
Thank goodness for Summer! Dustin and I have been enjoying the nice weather. He frequently rides his motorcycle to work and it seems like we are sitting outside during sunset most nights. We ended up selling the toy hauler since we only have the one four wheeler right now. So we bought a new trailer. Then we sold the Jeep and bought an old 83 Chev to use for taking stuff to the dump or scrap yard or to just cruise around. I love how much fun the truck is! It definitely needs a facelift, but it’s been my favorite of the fixer-ups so far. It totally reminds me of the 85 Chev Dustin had when we started dating. Since we both worked nights when we met, we would meet at his apartment after work and watch horrible VH1 reality TV shows and go to the Del Taco across the street. Well, it was super cold outside, January, duh, and we decided to take the 85. We got to the drive thru, ordered, picked up our food, and Dustin tried rolling up the window… FYI… His truck had the early automatic windows. Well he was trying and trying to roll it up and the button wasn’t working, so he had to open the door and shimmy the window up until it was closed. We still laugh about it all the time. So the 83 reminds me of all the cruising we did in the 85.
Other than that, not much else has been going on. We’ve just been taking it easy. Oh, we repainted our bedroom and pretty much redid the whole thing. When we bought our bedroom set, we went to Furniture Row across from IKEA and found a beautiful bedroom set in a nice dark brown. It was super cheap since it was in the scratch and dent section (all the pieces look wonderful, what happened was the mirror that was supposed to go on the shorter dresser broke, so they discounted it almost 40%.) It was a head and foot board, tall dresser, shorter dresser, and one night stand. It’s been over a year since we bought it and decided we should try to find another night stand since one just wasn’t enough. We drove over expecting to have to buy on a little off on color or fixtures , but hidden in the back was the exact match! I was thrilled to have a nice, full matching set! (Minus the mirror because I really don’t care for the mirrors.) But since we were at the furniture store, we ended up getting a new coffee table and two end tables to replace the set Dustin got from his Grandparents. (By the way, we were looking at some pictures of Dustin as a kid and those tables were in the pictures… So we figured the tables to be at least 20 years old, but they still looked pretty good!)
Other than that, things have been pretty calm… So I’ll update in another three months… Lol!

Finally!

I figured I’d better update my blog to avoid any retaliation. ;)
So I still work for ARUP. It’s been seven months and the shift is hard, especially on holidays, but I shouldn’t complain, since I only work 26 weeks per year. Lol! But alas, my house is never clean! On my week on, I get about three hours to make or (usually) pick-up dinner and hang out with Dustin before I have to go to bed. So when I’m working, usually only a load or two of laundry gets done. Then on the first day off, I’m a zombie! My brain usually shuts down at the 69th hour out of 70! But I do still love it and there is now the prospect of being a work from home job.

Erika is doing great pretty much running the jewelry business. Lol! I love the designing aspect and hope we can further the business, but she has been FANTASTIC at running the financial part of the business. We’re going to try to do a lot of shoes this summer. I’m hoping she’ll forgive me for working for a lot of them.

So that’s about it for updates…

Just kidding!

So I guess it’s time for the big news…
A few weeks ago, Dustin and I went to dinner at this little Chinese/Japanese restaurant by our house. I had been feeling kind of sick earlier that day and really wanted some Egg Drop Soup, but they also had Sushi Happy Hour, so I got some half price sushi. The soup tasted good and the sushi arrived and I barely ate half of it and said, “Babe, I’m not feeling too good.” Dustin kind of looked at me and my plate funny. He kept eating and I just sat and drank some water to see if my tummy just needed a break. Then he asked me if I had my period. I told him that I hadn’t, just some weird cramping a few weeks back. He kept eating, then said, “Hmm… You have been kind of moody lately. Maybe we need to pick you up a pregnancy test.” (I didn’t think much of not getting my period since I usually only get them four times a year.) On the way home, we swung by the grocery store and I ran inside and grabbed a box of prego tests. I got home and took one. Less than three minutes later, I looked and saw one bright line and one REALLY faded line. I thought the bright line was the control and the faded was the positive, but I realized the next morning that the bright line was the “yep, your knocked up” line. When Dustin saw it, he said to take another in the morning, but text Erika a picture of the test. So I took a super close up shot of the two lines and sent it to Erika (she was in Disneyland with my parents and Jeff and Bek). About ten minutes later, my phone started ringing like crazy! When I answered, the first thing she said was, “Is that what I think it is?!” I guess at first she thought it was a picture of some fridge thing. Then the next morning, I took another test and got the same result. Luckily, I scheduled a doctor’s appointment and got in within a few days. They couldn’t find a heartbeat, but they said I may be too early for that. So Dustin and I tried to be really quiet about it just in case. I found a study done at the U of U for first time mom’s to be. I joined when I found out all they wanted was three blood tests throughout the pregnancy and a few forms filled out about my family history, Dustin’s family history, and a few about how I’m handling pregnancy. They pay $50 at the end of the study and I get three extra ultrasounds at no cost! They were going to do my first ultrasound to find out how far along I was. Dustin and I drove up to the U for the first study visit. When they did the ultrasound, they measured me at 8 weeks 1 day and we saw the cute little heartbeat going 168 bpm! That was last Thursday, so today Dustin and I are 9 weeks 1 day! We are really excited. The nice thing with the study is that I will end up getting an ultrasound at 8 (study), 12 (doc), 16 (study), 20 (doc), and 24(study) weeks. I am so happy about the study. All they are doing is checking if they can find blood tests or pap tests that may predict problems in pregnancy in the future for other Moms. So yeah, that’s our big news. Oh, and our due date is 12/07/2011.

That’s about all for now…

Update soon...

So I realized it has been a while since my last update... So expect one soon... :)
