Lindsay and Sammie attended a "Daddy Daughter Princess Ball in March.  They got to dress up and the Young Women of the Stonegate ward did their hair, make-up and painted their nails. They danced the night away with their Dad and took home some "pink" sweets! They LOVED it. I think this just might be a new tradition. Pretty soon "Dad" will be taking 4 girls. Get ready...!

Dave's Valentine Gift

A friend of mine here in Colorado took these pictures for me. When Dave was out of town, we had these done so we could surprise him for Valentines Day. He LOVED them. I think they are absolutely adorable. How can they get any cuter?!? Thank you Lindsey for the pictures.Image

IT'S ANOTHER.........

ImageYes, we are going to add another GIRL to our family. We were really surprised, but are very excited to add a new little girl to our family. She is expected to join us July 19th. Poor Davis isn't too excited. He cried when we told him. He really wanted another boy because "we need more boys". It all made sense to him. The girls wanted another boy because they thought if Davis had a brother to play with then he would leave them alone. I grew up with 2 brothers and it didn't work that way for me. Jared still teased us girls even with another boy around.

Well, it has been a really long time since I posted. I wanted so much to be able to catch up, but I don't think it is really going to happen. Maybe I will throw in a few back blogs here and there, but am hoping to continue to go forward. Wish me luck. (I hope there are a few followers left out there).

Kindie Graduation

Lindsay is an official "Kindie Graduate". Here are a few pictures from the zoo field trip at the end of the year and the last day of Kindergarten. They had a picnic and a water fight at the park.Image
Image Lindsay and Mandy on the bus to the zoo. Lindsay absolutely adores Mandy.

Image Lindsay, Mandy, Brooke and Justin eating Popsicles and looking silly.

Image This was such a fun idea. The kids wore these t-shirts all through the year and then on the last day, they had their friends sign them. They thought it was so cool. It is not everyday that you get to use a "dangerous" (that is what we call permanent markers) markers on your clothes.

Image This was Lindsay's teacher, Mrs. Fazio! We absolutely loved her. We couldn't have asked for a better teacher. She made Lindsay's transition to a new town and school so easy. Thank you. We will be seeing more of Mrs. Fazio because Sammie got her for Kindergarten next year. YEAH!! I can't believe how fast my little girl has grown. It just seems like a few short years ago she blessed our lives. She still continues to bless our lives and we enjoy every minute of it.

Davis Reunion

We made a quick trip to Utah to attend the Davis reunion. I haven't been to the reunion since they started it about 8 years ago. It was fun to see Aunts, Uncles and cousins that I don't see very often if not at all.Image The kids loved playing with Grandpa Davis. He would always get them wound up just in time for mom and dad had to put them to bed. Is that what it is like to be grand parents?
Image We spent some time on BYU campus and Sammie wanted to dance on their ball room dance floor. Look out!..I think we have a future BYU dancer on our hands!
Image This is the swing set at my Grandma B's house. I used to play with all of my cousins on this swing set when I was a little girl. Oh the memories!
Image Grandma B and the kids.
Image Grandma B's cat had kittens. Lindsay was really scared to pet them at first, but we got her to do it just for the picture. She really doesn't like animals...secretly I am ok with that.
Image Hannah even had a turn.
Image Sammie, on the other hand loved them.
Image Hanging out at the reunion, Davis playing kickball, swinging and Sammie taking Uncle Guy's dog for lots of walks.

We had a lot of fun on the trip. It is always good to see family. Although we miss Dave's family in Washington, we have enjoyed taking advantage of being close to mine.

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we thought we would get out of the heat and head up to Vail, CO. It was nice to get away and enjoy some fresh air. The kids absolutely loved it. They were so excited that they had their own room and a t.v. in it too. The simple things that kids enjoy! I Love it!Image

Some of the highlights from our trip:

1. Lindsay trying to tickle herself and wondering why it didn't work.

2. Davis holding up red pepper flakes at the pizza place and asked "is this bird poop?".

3. Davis shutting the office door at Safeway. It just happened to be pay day, but they didn't have a key to get in.....needless to say, no one received their paychecks that night.

4. Eating "Trix" while walking through Vail. (Our ghetto breakfast).

5. Davis meeting a friend at the park and asking if he could go and play at his house.

6. Playing Uno Attack and Charades

7. Davis putting on "sun scream"

8. Walking to the pool with our swim suits on and tennis shoes. (We forgot to bring flip flops. I was more embarrassed than anyone. Here we are at this resort looking like we walked off of the street).

9. Sitting by the fire pit that was just right outside our room.

10. Watching the kids play on the Big Pirate Ship. They could have played for hours.

11. Attending Church...not knowing it was a Spanish Branch.

More Cakes

Here are a few more cakes that I made for my cake decorating class. This fondant cake was fun, but I am not a fan of the taste. We ended up throwing it out because no one would eat the frosting. Next time I think I will peel it off and just eat the cake underneath.Image I still can't believe I made this one. There was a lot of preparation for this cake. I think it turned out pretty good. I don't know when I would make a nother cake like this one, but it is fun to know how. Dave thinks I should do the girls' wedding cakes. I don't know if my skills will be good enough in 15 years!
