VBS - Only the Righteous Survive

VBS Day 2

The second day of VBS went much smoother! Aaron installed an air conditioner in the nursery (YEAH!) and the kids liked the octopus on seaweed. We got a couple videos of the music (and some blackmail materials!). Here's a look . . .

VBS is Here!

Well, it is Vacation Bible School time again. This year's theme is Outrigger Island. Courtney and I made Surfboard Pizza's last night (all three of Theron's favorite foods, pasta sauce, cheese and bread!). Here's a pic of our snack room and a couple of the kiddo. . . (1) doubling over laughing (2) doing something he KNOWS he is not supposed to!

Silly Hat . . . Ooops!

Theron loves the book Blue Hat, Green Hat by Sandra Boynton. Last night he decided to place this trash can on his head and say "Ooops" repeatedly just like they do in the book when the turkey places clothes on different parts of his body where they don't belong. Too cute. . .

I Want to Ride My . . .

Tri-cycle! Well, we finally found a stroll and ride tricycle for Theron. And before I could even post pictures of him enjoying it, he has also had his first accident. While trying to perform an acrobatic flip over the handle bars, he scraped his face on the bell. Bound to happen. Anyway, he loves it and the first thing he said this morning was "Ride, ride, bike" (which coming even before "bite" is a first). Here are some pre-accident pics.

Fun-filled Weekend

In addition to Berkley's party, we also had a lot fun this weekend swimming with the Butlers and Garretts, eating Sandy's delicious Butterfinger Cake; going to church; seeing Austin, Teryna and all SIX of their kids at a cookout [forgot my camera :( ]; and having our usual fun with Barron. Here are some of the few pictures I got. Now I know why I am so tired this morning!!

Berkley's 1st Birthday!

We wanted to say Happy Birthday to our little friend Berkley! Her party was a blast. She is such a friendly, precious little girl. Berkley is always smiling and laughing. It is so great to see how well her big sister Chloe plays with her too! All the girls were fighting over who would get to hold Berkley in the bouncy room. Here are some pics of her big day:

The Butlers are Back (almost . . .)

We are so excited that the Butlers are almost back. They won't all be here permanently until August, but we can't wait to have them just down the road! We've also found two new Wii fans --Lexi and Aidan. They played the bowling game tonight while T-Mac played tennis (or thought he did). We are so blessed to have gotten to see them all this week and can't wait for August! Lexi is so sweet with Theron; we can't wait until she's old enough to babysit. Welcome back guys! We sure missed you . . .

Almost Brothers

We are so excited this week that Barron is staying with us. The boys have such a good time playing together. I hope they are this close their whole lives. I wish I could capture more of their funny moments on camera, but these two move too quickly! I couldn't even get both of them in the picture when they were playing in our room. Barron enjoyed playing with my weights (Theron carries them around more than I use them). They also enjoyed climbing on the couch -- they are both now tall enough to get up there on their own. In the last picture, they finally tired out and took a nap. I placed them at opposite ends of the couch, but Barron decided he wanted to lay next to Theron. I love to hear their laughter -- these guys really crack each other up! How blessed we are!!

Newest Indie Fan

Theron loves to watch Aaron play the Indiana Jones game on the Wii. In fact, he begs for it. He also "plays along" by helping pick up the lego pieces and build them with his own controller. Occassionally, he even accidently joins the game for real and we have to pry the controller from his fingers long enough to get him back out. He also runs around the room as the characters do! I have mixed feeling about him being so interested in games so soon, but I suppose it was inevitable. And, it is pretty cute to watch.

A Pool . . . In the Kitchen?

It all started as harmless fun. Aunt Laura was giving herself a pedicure and the boys (Theron and Barron) were trying to help. They thought the water was too "hot," so we decided to give them individual ones of their own. You can guess what happened from there. It took about 30 seconds for Barron to empty out his "pool." That was so much fun that he emptied Theron's too. So, NeNe got a clean floor last night. And a whole load of towels to wash . . .

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day everyone! Here are two pictures of Theron from last year and one from this year. I can't believe how much he has changed! Mr. Independent describes his attitude (especially today) perfectly.

First Haircut

Two "Firsts"

At 16 months, it was finally time for a haircut for Theron. We took him this morning, so here are some before and after shots. He did really well sleeping through the first half and waking up for the second. He even let the lady use the razor on him!

Then it was time for the "Second First" when she gave him a sucker for being such a good boy. (Actually, she gave him several :) ) He enjoyed it on the way home where we got to enjoy cleaning him up!

Don't worry, the curls are still there, just shorter now!

Ride 'Em Cowboy

Theron received this horse from his Great Uncle Melvin (Granny's brother) and Aunt LaNell for Christmas. He loves it! We are so excited that he can ride it on his own now. One ear's button plays this cowboy song, the other ear's neighs and whinnies.

Our Housekeeper
