Audio Dramas About Fate (And Fighting It)

It's been too long since I've made a themed audio drama rec list. Let's fight the fates.

In The Cards

  • This absurdist comedy follows Gil, an extremely unlucky man who has never seen a piece of unburnt toast in his life. He discovers not only has he been a loser historically, he is fated to always be one. He decides to fight fate tooth and claw. He defies the course of his arrow! Completed with 8 episodes. Full cast.

The Antique Shop

  • This urban fantasy podcast heavily focused on Scottish folklore follows Maya, a uni student who finds a job at a strange antique shop. The items sold have magic elements that will steer the course of their customers lives, and the shop owner, Madam Norna, helps people with problems. This becomes a story about working with, against, and alongside Fate. Completed with 50 episodes. Single narrator.

Ethics Town

  • This absurdist cosmic horror follows the residents of the town of Ethics. Imagine, if you will being a character in a fable. You are doomed to follow the steps of your role and teach the reader a lesson. You are not in control of your actions. They are written for you. So why are you dealing with the consequences? 2 full seasons out. Full cast.

Radio San Lazaro is created by two transfems that have witnessed and experienced the heavy disparity of wealth and social privilege in the United States. In part because of that, 100% of the proceeds made through our Patreon will be used to assist other trans folk and those being persecuted by ICE.

We plan to do this with complete transparency surrounding the movement of funds. Every month, we will publicly post our earnings from the Patreon, as well as where we have donated the funds to show that they have gone entirely to the causes we promised.

Some of the initial places we will be donating to are the Trans Continental Pipeline, a service for helping relocate transfolk from more hostile states to Colorado; and the Colorado Rapid Response Network, which actively helps protect communities from ICE, because ALL ICE activity is unjust.

Not all our funds will be going toward Colorado-specific organizations, and we will continue to search out additional recipients, but these first few are ones that are literally close to home for the show's producers. We personally know people who have been helped by TCP, as well as some of those volunteering with the organization. We also know people whose families have been targeted by ICE and who have been helped by the CRRN.

I love my country – by which I mean not the government but rather the land, and the people in it. We want to do just a little to help these communities to keep themselves safe and empowered. We hope you will join us if you can.

🔮 Listen now wherever you get your podcasts!

🏕️ If this is your first time, Tales From the Singing Porch is a folktale-fiction anthology podcast. The Singing Porch is a magical place where stories creak and whisper under the floorboards, with each episode lovingly brought to life with award-winning sound and music.

🦋 Maya and I believe in making great fiction, and we know the oral tradition is the best way to tell a story. So, we created Tales From the Singing Porch to bring the magic of campfire folktales to life and directly to your ears!

🌼 Well… aren’t you just a teensy bit interested? Make sure to give us a follow and listen to the Singing Porch—you’re welcome here with us anytime. 😉

It’s ready (I promise!)

ISO VOICE ACTORS!

I've procrastinated as usual

Currently searching for two male voice actors for the season finale of Jack, It's Me.

If you're interested, please follow the link below! These roles have a heavy possibility of being reoccurring throughout the second season.

In the upcoming weeks I will also be on the look out for a few more VAs!

This is a small, indie project that is currently unpaid, however if the episodes you are featured in generate income, you will be compensated.

Not professional or even confident in your voice? Audition anyways! I'm looking for real and wrong, not clean. (:

love it when audio drama leads, be it they have canon names or not, go by these special monikers: the archivist, the voice of night vale, the obituary writer—long live vague and mysterious titles for protagonists.
