do you remember being born is a fabulous book about a famous poet who is commissioned to write a poem with an LLM. it is much more poetry than tech. i have had the pleasure of working with the author, sean michaels, on a project recently and he is remarkably talented. the nyt has a really nice review of it, too.

this meme is spot on. ai is fun because you can build anything. but you end up building way too much simply because you can. rarely do you actually build what you need or what’s wanted. i’m finding, for the thousandth time, the lesson is in stripping away to the core. not doing things just because you can.
