I read a lot. Reading is my way out of here. By which I mean: life can be hard, it’s not always what we want it to be, but books make it easier. Whether it’s through uplifting fiction that sends me to a happier place, or through books that present the stories of other people’s lives and help me gain perspective about my own, books are my escape route.
My posts are long. If that’s not for you, then please don’t feel the need to tell me. It’s okay to like different things. I’m happy to have a conversation about books and about my take on the books I read. Feel free to respond with your own thoughts. Reading is pleasure, though, and there’s no need to be rude or antagonistic. If you’re either of those things, I’ll congratulate you on your passion and thank you for your contribution, then move on. It’s interesting to discover other people’s viewpoints on different matters, but I’m not here for an argument.

Sorry but this is a wild goose chase: I notice that way back in 2019 you wrote about CAITLIN THOMAS’ DOUBLE DRINK STORY. By any slim chance do you have any information re Caitlin’s estate? I want to quote one of her letters and am striking out trying to make contact with them. Any help gratefully received, Christopher Monger

I don’t, Christopher, sorry. I gave Double Drink Story to a charity shop, as I usually do with books I don’t want to keep, so I can’t check to see if there’s any information about the estate in there. It was published by Virago, I think. If you click the image, it links to the publisher site for the edition I read. Caitlin’s son Francesco Fazio was involved with the publication, writing an afterword for it.
I know that all three Thomas children are deceased so presumably Caitlin’s estate has been passed to her grandchildren. I found a blog post written by Aeronwy’s daughter Hannah Ellis describing the court cases Caitlin brought against the trustees of Dylan’s estate and the case her other son Francesco also brought against the trustees following Caitlin’s death. I presume you have read it too, but here’s a link in case you haven’t https://www.discoverdylanthomas.com/life-dylan-family-disempowered. Hannah works for the Dylan Thomas Trust, or did when she wrote that post. It’s probable that she’s also involved with her grandmother’s estate.
