He came in and this is how the conversation went...
Dr... "Does you back hurt?"
Me..."YES!"
Dr..."Does the pain wrap around to the front?"
Me..."YES!"
Dr..."You have a kidney stone."
I am sure that there were more questions but these are the ones that I remember. He handed me a barf bag...which I used shortly after he left. Soon the nurse came into give me two shots...one for nausea and one for pain! In about 20 minutes...she was one of my most favorite people!
They sent me over to X-ray for a Cat Scan. They just wanted to be sure that it really was a stone and that it wasn't too big for me to pass. By the time I was finished with that, my pain shot had started to work and I was feeling much better.
I was sent home with a urine strainer and a specemin jar to catch the little stone when it came out.
The worst of my pain was over at this point. I took pain pills throughout the day and night and Friday but my pain was very managable! Now I was just waiting to pass the stone. This happened on Saturday morning around 11:30 a.m. It is a little stone...copper in color and about the size of a sunflower seed.
That is an experience that I hope I never have to go through again! I am glad that it is over. My back is still quite sore...but it is a pain that I can live with.
