Blue and White Jacket

ImageTrying to add to Penelope's wardrobe, I decided to revisit a crazy jacket pattern. Every time I sew this jacket, I say that I will never make another one because of the 14+ pieces required to create this 2.5 inch tall Blythe jacket. This time around, it was a weeeeee bit easier to sew, but I don't think I could make this tiny thing on the sewing machine...it would get eaten up in 5 seconds by that hungry beast. *chomp** chomp*

Penelope is trying to do her "cool" pose here. :o)

*****DETAILS*****

Hat, jacket and shorts: sewn by me using DCR patterns.

Golf Pants Green

ImageWell, Summer has definitely arrived. Talk about humidity! Woooooo wee! Penelope was in need of some new summer clothes, so as her personal tailor, I decided to try my hand at these short pants. I've always been a little confused at what exactly these pants were. They are part of a Victorian-looking ensemble, complete with white puffy shirt ala Jerry Seinfeld. So I think they are supposed to be Victorian kid pants? But Penelope calls them her golf-pants...even though none of us actually plays golf.

These are handsewn because I was too lazy to unpack my sewing machine. Sometimes, handsewing is better for these tiny clothes anyways. My sewing machine can easily eat these small fabric pieces for lunch. *chomp* *chomp*

pattern: DCR #5. page 105.
