Sharon's Baby Quilt

I keep calling this a baby quilt and maybe that's not what it really is. It was made with baby clothes and receiving blankets, and of course, some added modern fabrics to give it that zing. It sure has a lot of zing!

Look at these cute fabrics!

She fused the knits to interfacing and they behaved for the most part. Omni spearmint thread, Hobbs 80/20 batting and Popcorn panto.

Angie's Charmed and Dangerous

Angie brought this quilt a few weeks ago and said she liked the quilting on the cover of the pattern.

I duplicated it pretty closely.

The pattern had a large meander in the shapes around the 4-patches and I'm not sure what was in the outer borders. I chose to do something different in those shapes, and beadboard for the outer borders. The stippling around the feather flower and the continuous curves are from the pattern photo.

I chose Jacobean panto and Omni Khaki thread, and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Deb's Baby Quilts

Deb made 2 of these cute flannel baby quilts. Makes me want to get out my tote of baby flannels and make some myself.

I chose Hearts and Roses panto and used Pearl White Omni thread and Hobbs 80/20 bleached batting. This photo shows the fabrics much better.

Design Wall Monday

The quilt that was on my design wall last week is finished, label and all.

Here it is all folded and ready to send on it's way.

Jeni and I worked on our 40th class reunion quilt last Friday evening and we got all the blocks made and on the design wall. We will work on it again tomorrow evening and hope to get the center together. It is really quite fun to work with someone....she cuts, I sew, she presses and gives back to me to sew again.

Design Wall Monday

Much the same as last week, except the rows are sewn together and borders added to top and bottom. This one is my H2H quilt and needs to be finished this week, so I'll surely have a finished quilt to show soon!

Laura's Strip Quilt

Laura's Strip Quilt, that's what I'm calling it for lack of a better description. This 110" x 90" quilt is incredibly simple, yet so sophisticated.

A simple panto, Jacobean with black thread and Quilters Dream batting.

I love this center fabric!

Andrew's Pre-K Graduation

Friday evening I had the pleasure of attending my grandson Andrew's Pre-K Graduation.

What a fun time and how exciting to see all those little ones singing on the stage and walking across to get their certificates. It's hard to believe he will start Kindergarten in just 3 short months. Elizabeth will start Preschool at the same time.

Here's Andrew and his girlfriend, Adriana. They have been inseparable this year and were very sad to learn they won't be attending the same school in the fall.

Mary's Twister

What a cute baby quilt and probably the biggest I've quilted. The fabrics are just adoarable!

She said to do whatever, so I chose Popcorn and I think it works very well.

Quilts for the Veterans

Our guild is collecting wheelchair quilts for residents of the Indiana Veterans Home. Lish pieced this top and I quilted it. It will go to another member for binding.

I used Angel Wings panto, Permacore white thread, and Hobbs bleached 80/20 batting.

A nice flannel for the backing on this one.

This one I pieced using leftovers from a photo quilt a few years ago.

Used the same panto, thread and binding.

These are small quilts, but from what I have read, you don't want them too big or they will get caught in the wheels.

Janet's Auction Quilt #2

This is the second quilt top that Janet purchased on Ebay. I haven't figured out why someone would spend all the time to piece a quilt top like this and then sell it.

I chose the Jacobean panto and I'm very happy with it. See that seam running diagonally through the middle....isn't that odd?

I'm almost half finished hand stitching the binding, so that's what I'll be doing this evening. I can't wait to wash it and see it all crinkled. I just may bid on this one at the auction.

Kimmy's Bricks

Here is the first of Kimmy's 2 brick quilts. This one is flannel front and back. I was trying to figure out the pattern for these quilts. There are rows with logs sewn together with seams matching and then there is a row that is offset.

She wanted just a meander on both of these so that made for some really quick quilting. A new Omni thread for this one.

Here's the 2nd one in yellow, gray and black. What a strikiing color combination.

This one has PermaCore canary thread and they both have Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Snowflakes

Julieanne worked on this quilt at Shipshewana last October. It's a pretty advanced pattern for someone's 2nd quilt, but she did a wonderful job on it.

I quilted with Winter White panto, white permacore thread and Hobbs 80/20 bleached batting.
