Beijing

We went to Beijing this past weekend with our dear friends,the Petersens!! It was such a fun trip. We walked on the Great Wall-what an experience we will never forget!! We walked through the Forbidden City and through the streets of Beijing. We want to share our pics with you-so here you go!!

A Trip to the Orphanage

We went with a group to an orphanage way out in the country. It was an adventure just getting there. We were in huge buses on tiny roads which made it very difficult for the drivers to turn around in some spots around a lot of water. Let me just say I was on the edge of my seat getting a close-up view of the water. Thank goodness we stayed on the road.

We had a great time with the kids!! I think they enjoyed us being there too. The youth group house, and played with the kids. I will never along with the adults planted flowers, painted aforget my trip out to the country. I hope to go again. Enjoy the pictures!!

February Birthdays

Well we celebrated two birthdays in the Teubert family this month. Jackson had his 14th birthday, while John had his????? birthday!! We had a family celebration for each at a restaurant of their choice and a cake Mom made in her Chinese kitchen. I even found a party supply place which felt like going in one at home. Both enjoyed their day and will have many memories from turning a year older while living in China.

Chinese New Year

We sure did get to see a huge celebration for Chinese New Year. The fireworks were everywhere. It has been going on for 2 weeks. It ends tomorrow with the Lantern Festival. There were decorations all over the city. We want to share some pics with you!!

Thailand 2009

So we were off again to Bangkok for Chinese New Year. We needed a break from all the fireworks in Shanghai. John had to go there on business, so we tagged along. We had a great time! Bangkok is truly an awesome city with lots to see and do. We visited the Grand Palace and took a riverboat cruise.It sure was warm there, unlike Shanghai this time of year.

Jackson's Invention

Jackson had to create an inventon for school. He nvented the Slice Sticks which can pick up slippery food. I also wanted you to see him in a suit. He is so grown up as you can see. It was a fun day for him. I think people liked his invention. He is learning so much at this new school! We all are learning so much living over here.
