About Tim Dupell

Tim Dupell has spent the last 20 years assisting therapeutic leaders in the establishment of mental and behavioral health services for troubled families.

With the support of Dupell’s business and economics education and knowledge, programs establish sustainable models for long-term success. He continues to provide his compassionate expertise and persistent dedication to comprehensive treatment programs, prioritizing long-term patient success and improved family outcomes.

Personal Interest in Volunteering

Tim places a strong focus on practical treatment and advocacy for people suffering from mental illnesses. With loved ones and family members suffering from dyslexia, dysgraphia, anxiety, bipolar illness, schizophrenia, addiction, and autism, he understands the need of providing each patient and their family with tailored care.

He identified his vocation in this field after having extensive expertise in finance, accounting, and risk management. His career progressed from Ernst & Young CPA consultant to founding Family Help & Wellness. Across the country, this organization promotes teenage mental and behavioral health.

A Profession in Service

After working as a CPA specializing in insurance and healthcare, Dupell moved into management accounting with HMO Oregon/Capital Health Care. Due to his six years of employment with this organization, he found sites where individuals were not receiving required assistance.

He then rose to the position of chief financial officer of The Corvallis Clinic. His expertise was required to develop the clinic’s financial soundness and moral integrity.

Realizing the Worth of Apartment Ownership

Dupell worked for Physician Partners, Inc. as the CFO, secretary, and treasurer. For the first time, he was in control of the whole financial operations of a venture-backed firm.

Physician Partners, Inc. taught him the importance of selecting medical experts who genuinely want to help families. Putting a greater degree of physician and educator ownership leads in safer and more trustworthy healthcare.

Through his work with healthcare clinics and networking with direct-care providers, Tim was able to firsthand experience the relationship between trustworthy business tactics and dependable, high-quality healthcare. The article Practice Management Companies Improve Practices, written by Dupell, was published in Healthcare Financial Management.

When best-practice guidelines are framed correctly, physicians are better equipped to implement them. An organization benefits from enough finance in addition to well-designed teams since access to cash is intrinsically tied to ongoing support.

Improving Patient Outcomes Through Knowledge

When he wanted to use his skills more specifically to help at-risk teenagers, Dupell accepted a position with a nationwide provider of adolescent mental health therapy. As CFO and Executive Vice President, Dupell handled the organization’s financial, legal, risk management, and information technology services.

After working for this business for over five years, he wanted to help families more directly. Tim recognized nature’s healing effects and sought to provide therapeutically prepared outdoor experiences to families going through difficult times.

Family Well-Being and Support

Dupell co-founded Family Help & Wellness in 2008 to empower therapy leaders to provide the best level of care. He is presently a mental health advocate as well as one of 30 minority investors.

At the outset, this organization’s only program was WinGate Wilderness Therapy. Dupell founded WinGate in conjunction with qualified psychologists and field guides to provide intense therapeutic wilderness experiences to youth battling with mental and behavioral health. Throughout the years, Tim received inquiries from notable clinical professionals and program managers to launch or support a number of different projects.

Family Help & Wellness now provides tools and best practice management to 19 programs. These programs offer residential and backcountry treatment to teenagers and young adults who are struggling with mental and behavioral health issues.

Dupell prioritized working with people that “have a strong sense of purpose and care for others.” More than half of FHW’s ownership is made up of field-experienced doctors and educators.

Licensed therapists and educators in the FHW family employ supportive, experiential treatments that are relationship-centered and clinically proven to be helpful in treating patients. Each program provides teens and young adults with the tools they need to develop as individuals.

Activities and Hobbies

Because his administrative obligations at Family Help & Wellness have been reduced, Dupell now has more time to pursue his hobbies. Tim enjoys a variety of outdoor sports, including jogging and hiking. He regularly travels with his two Lhasa Aphsos, Sadie and Lucy. Tim originally planned to teach history before studying economics and business, which he still finds fascinating.
