The Settlers Have the Police and Government —We Only Have You!

Settler violence in the West Bank is escalating rapidly. Brutal assaults - destruction of property, arson, shootings - pogroms - have become routine. Palestinian communities are attacked with cruelty, families are forced from their homes, land is seized — all without any intervention by the Israeli authorities.

✖ In recent months, there has been a sharp rise in both the number and severity of settler attacks.

✖ Government ministers support the attackers — some through silence, others through action.

✖ The law enforcement  system grants perpetrators near-total impunity: few arrests, negligent investigations, nearly no indictments, and no meaningful consequences for violations.

Settler violence constitutes systematic, ideological criminal activity aimed at driving Palestinians off their lands in order to take control of them. Instead of stopping this violence, the government, led by Netanyahu, Smotrich, and Ben-Gvir, enables and encourages it. Offenders enjoy immunity from prosecution and a range of state-backed incentives that allow — and embolden — their criminal actions. Palestinians in the occupied territories are left defenseless in the face of relentless harassment and attacks.

Our field researchers are a vital point of contact for Palestinians facing  settler violence. Together with Yesh Din’s Israeli volunteers, our field meets with victims, document violations, and assist those who wish to file complaints with the Israel police.

Yesh Din's legal department provides legal representation to hundreds of Palestinians harmed by settler violence. Our  legal team advocates for Palestinian victims of settler violence who seek accountability within the Israeli legal system — monitoring police investigations and submitting appeals on closure of investigations   when possible. In the rare cases where indictments are filed, we represent the victims in the legal proceedings.

Our field researchers are a vital point of contact for Palestinians facing  settler violence. Together with Yesh Din’s Israeli volunteers, our field researchers meets with victims, document violations, and assist those who wish to file complaints with the Israel police.
