I was struggling to decide on the latest ring doorbell, which was more expensive with a few more features, or this one. I’m glad I chose this one because it functions perfectly. It’s built well, solid with a little weight to it and the video is crystal clear. Very easy to set up, connects effortlessly super value and looks amazing against the brick.

I have been debating getting a ring camera for quite some time now. I was never really worried about people stealing stuff from my porch or any shady things going on outside, so the need wasn't too pressing.

Enter the wonderful Cyber Monday/Black Friday sale. This little gem was half off, so I figured I'd go for it. The return window was extended until the end of January, so I knew I'd get a good deal of time to really decide if this was something I wanted/needed.

I opted against paying the $50+ to have a technician come to my house to install it. Mainly because it would only mean that someone would come to my house and show me how to use the app (without doing anything else). Sorry, not paying someone more money that I spent on the product to show me how to set up the perfectly easy app. I don't have Taylor Swift money just lying around.

I also opted to use the battery feature instead of hardwiring it to my actual doorbell. A few people stated that it takes a long time to charge. This is true. I believe it took me about 6 hours (the battery was around 40% when I opened the box). HOWEVER...it is March 2 and I am still sitting at 52% battery life. This was installed on November 25. That's a little over 3 months and only half of the battery has drained. I'm more than okay with that.

The only issue that I have is that there is about a 2-3 second delay from when someone enters the video zone and when my phone alerts me. And to be honest, that's really just nitpicking at this point. Once the doorbell has been rung, there is no delay while speaking to the person outside.

The video quality is wonderful, even at night. (I'll edit this review later to show the quality, my phone is charging right now, oops)

I definitely love my little ring camera. It was easy to install on my door frame (I only had space to use 2 screws, but it is secured perfectly), and the app is very user-friendly (no need to spend $50 on someone coming to your house)

Setup was quick and straightforward, and the battery-powered design makes it easy to install without dealing with wiring. The video quality is clear, and the motion alerts are reliable and it does a good job of keeping you aware of what’s going on at your door. Features like two-way talk and app notifications make it really convenient to check in from anywhere. It’s been holding up well so far and does exactly what I need it to do.

One thing to keep in mind is battery life can vary depending on how often it’s triggered, so you may need to recharge it more or less frequently depending on usage. I check it evert week to be sure and I’m in a high traffic area. I usually need to recharge every couple months.

A big step up in quality from the previous version. The camera and video feed are clearer and easier to customize, and the reaction time from when a person or object comes into view of the camera to when a notification is sent is much faster. Additionally, the battery charge lasts much longer and you no longer have to use screws to mount or remove the Ring. Overall this is a great value for the money.

I purchased this paired with an indoor ring unit which made it a great deal. Installation was easy. I could have put an in line unit in, but this one works just fine. Helps me keep track of my dogs, cat and horses as well as the occasional person at my door. Gives a good picture and good sound.

Of course, Ring doorbells have completely changed the way people answer the door nowadays. Being able to instantly pull up a live view on your phone of who or what is outside your house is honestly a game changer. It’s one of those products that once you have it, it’s hard to imagine not having it anymore.

The doorbell itself is nice and loud too. In my four-bedroom house, I can hear it pretty much anywhere, which was important to me because I didn’t want to miss deliveries or visitors depending on where I was in the house. The motion detection also works very well, and I like that you can adjust the sensitivity settings to fit your own situation instead of getting constant unnecessary alerts.

Installation was straightforward, it connected easily, and one thing that surprised me was how compact the actual unit is in person. The size is deceptively small, but it still feels solid and high quality once mounted.

At this point, I honestly feel like products like this are almost essential because they double as a security camera system too. Whether you’re checking packages, seeing who walked by your house, or just wanting a little extra peace of mind, it does a really good job.

Now, the only downside is the subscription aspect because some of the more advanced features do require paying for Ring’s service plan. But aside from that, the video quality is excellent, the recordings are clear, and overall it performs exactly the way you’d want a smart doorbell to perform.

I installed this Ring Battery Video Doorbell at the front door and overall I’m pleased with the basics of how it works. Installation was straightforward and the battery option means I didn’t have to run wiring, which made setup much easier than I expected. The video quality is clear and captures a good amount of detail so I can see people approaching the door from top to bottom.

Using the app to get alerts and view live video on my phone is handy and the two-way talk feature works well when someone presses the doorbell. I also like that it integrates with Alexa and I can see the feed on my smart display.

There are a few things that might be worth knowing before you buy. A subscription is required to access and store video history, and without it you only get basic live alerts, which makes the full feature set feel limited unless you are prepared to pay for the plan. Some users also report intermittent connectivity issues where the doorbell disconnects from Wi-Fi and needs troubleshooting to reconnect.

Battery life seems decent but not exceptional, so if you get a lot of motion activity you may find yourself recharging every few weeks rather than months. Alerts and motion detection are generally reliable, but there are mixed reports about how accurately all movement is picked up depending on placement and settings.

Overall this is a good choice if you want a simple wireless video doorbell with solid video quality and ease of setup, but be aware that subscription costs and occasional connectivity issues are part of the experience with this type of device. Many users find it worth it once configured to their needs, but it is not perfect out of the box.
