To mark France’s National Day, Bastille Day Ireland 2026 will offer a nationwide celebration with film screenings (1-19 July) at partner venues in Cork, Dublin and Dún Laoghaire, a festive gathering at The Church Bar & Restaurant in Dublin on July 14th, and an online programme featuring films and competitions with great prizes to win.

All events are free!

Join us for a vibrant celebration of French culture and the close friendship between Ireland and France.

FILM FESTIVAL

From July 1st to 19th, enjoy a series of free French films in Cork, Dublin, Dún Laoghaire, and online, presented by the French Embassy in association with Alliance Française Irish network, Institut français, European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland, National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin City Libraries, dlr Libraries, Cork City Library, University College Cork, Cork French Film Festival, and Cork International Film Festival.

Experience French cinema, language and culture with our selection of classic and contemporary films, including comedies, shorts, and family screenings. The programme explores a wide range of topics such as youth, friendship, equality, identity, and migration. It also highlights women’s rights and perspectives through diverse stories and roles.

And don’t miss the online selection with a documentary and a feature film !

All screenings are free!

Ask your child to draw Bastille Day, France, Dublin, the French community, fireworks, flags, music, food, or anything that reminds them of the 14th of July

Cook a dish yourself, take a photo of it, and send us the photo together with the recipe.
It can be a savoury dish, a dessert, a family recipe, a French classic with your own twist, or a blue-white-red creation. Time to get creative in the kitchen
