Christmas Time!

(After Santa came)

One from our Christmas cards
Christmas time was a little hectic this year. We had our bingo party on the 18th so, to me, it didn't really feel like Christmas, I like it when we can have the bingo on the 24th. AND! that's when I discovered that my recently recovered camera was TOAST, that's right, BROKEN. The batteries burst and there was crusty white stuff all over on the inside of the camera, it was done for. So I don't have any pictures of the bingo madness. Then on the 23rd I left work early and we drove down to Vernal to see my sisters and my parents and spend their Christmas with them. They were having Christmas on the morning of Christmas Eve so my Dad could be there because he had to work graveyards that weekend.

I just have to say. The 3 hour drive with a car-sick one year old. . .NOT so much fun. . .at all. Addyson screamed for a good 45 minutes straight and then in the middle of Daniels Canyon Chance pulled off the road and I jumped out in my slippers and grabbed her out of her seat, good times. ANYways, once we got there we had fun. We got there around 7 at night, had and some dinner.

Right after we got to Vernal
After dinner, I decided that I needed a camera so Chance, My Mom and I all went to Walmart to get one. We found a camera that we liked, and one that was "cost effective" and we were off to the check stands. We're waiting in line and Chance looks down the line and says "Hey, isn't that Robert Foster?" I looked over and confirmed that yes, it was Robert Foster indeed! THE Robert Foster that used to work at Harmons on Cougar Lane, the very same that originated one of my family's favorite quotes. . ."HEY Beckstead, your paaaaaaarents. . .come to haaaaamon's . . .so know you know"  So Chance and I tell my Mom who it is and when she gets up to pay she asks him if he went to Kearns, and he said he did. Then he looked at her and said "Sooooorrrrrrrry about las niiiiiiiiight" hahahaha My mom completely caught off guard looks at him and says "uh. . .what?"Motioning to her sweat shirt, he mentions something about how the Utes lost the night before. We laughed and laughed and laughed about it the entire way back to my parent's house, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. So needless to say, we know have another Robert Foster gem.

Ready for bed Dad!
After we got back I took about 168,135,746,321 pictures with my new camera and then had to figure out the sleeping situations. It ended up, me, Chance and Addy stayed in Kyleigh's room and Kelli, Chris, and Kaitlyn stayed in Kaitlyn's room. Kimmy and Kyleigh stayed in my parents room. Chance put Addy to sleep and I stayed up with my Mom and Kimmy to do some elf stuff. We had so much fun. We listened to "Dominik the Italian Christmas Donkey" the whole time :) My new favorite Christmas song.

After we got all the elf stuff all wrapped up ;) it was time for bed. I snuck into Kyleigh's room and plopped down (as delicately as possible) and fell asleep, only to be awakened about 3 hours later to Addyson's blood curdling screams. She had rolled off the air mattress. . . not like you would think. She was inbetween Chance and I but she somehow managed to roll off the TOP of the thing. She wasnt hurt she was just more scared than anything. After I got her calmed down I looked at Chance and said "Only your kid could manage something like that"

We woke up and waited for my Dad to get home from work, then the kids got to open all their presents. Kyleigh and Kaitlyn got new phones and Kimmy got a new ipod touch, then Santa gave the family a Nintendo Wii.  My Mom made us some breakfast and we all sat around and watched as everyone took turns playing "Just Dance 2" for hours.

Then it was time to get home. We packed everything up and got ready to endure the scream filled 3 hour drive back. We ended up taking Kyleigh and Kaitlyn with us and they were pretty excited despite all our warnings about how Addy doesn't really like the car. Much to our surprise she fell asleep and we didn't hear one peep out of her the entire way home. it was a Christmas Eve MIRACLE!!! hahaha

So anyways, we got home and unpacked, did some cleaning, had some dinner and then put Addy to bed. My Mom was staying with us that night, we stayed up and did some wrapping, then hung out with her for a few more minutes and then hit the hay. The next morning was pretty awesome. It was so cool to watch Addy get so excited about all the presents that Santa brought her. It was a good thing that she had some practice with the present thing on her birthday a couple months before :) it was awesome. And to have my Mom and my Brother there, it was worth all the stressing and chaos.

Ok . . .So

Ok so I've become one of those Moms who has NO time to update their blog. oops.

So this is what has been happening lately.
Addyson had her first birthday! I can't believe it's been an entire year. I know I say that all the time but I can tell you honestly that I am absolutely astonished at how fast time has gone by. The night before her birthday Chance and I stayed up late and put up some decorations (David and Emily helped). The next morning we woke up with Addyson on her very first birthday, oh it was so exciting! We got her out of her crib and brought her into our room really fast so she didn't see her presents. I sent Chance out to find my camera, I don't know why I didn't find it the night before. I should have because that morning, it was no where to be found. So all the pictures I have are from my phone. sad times.

Addy had a lot of fun on her birthday. She was really ornery towards the end of the day. I think that's a rule, it's written in stone somewhere that you are required to be ornery on your first birthday. Even though you've had all your naps and snacks and all that.  We went and got her pictures taken on her birthday, they turned out really cute.

She did so well for the first 10 minutes then she wanted nothing to do with holding still. She wanted to go walking all around the studio. I was surprised she sat still that long. This kid is ALWAYS on the go, always has some where to be and stuff to look at.

Then on Saturday we had her 'big' party. I just had to let her do the cake again, it was SO cute. Except I made this cake instead of buying one. The first cake she got was so waxey and oily it left a ring around the bathtub when I washed her off it was kind of. . . gross. So I decided to make the second one. I made the frosting out of whipped cream and just a little bit of cream cheese. This time it was MUCH easier to clean off of her.

She was a pro the second time around

And then after the party was over and everyone left. . . I found my stupid camera. Nice huh?

T-Minus 2 months and Counting

Well, here we are two months away from Addyson's very first birthday. I know everyone says it but honestly, I can't believe just how fast time has gone by. It's amazing to think about where I was one year ago today. I had NO idea just how much my life was going to change. It makes me smile thinking about how I thought I knew. I wish I could put in to words how much I love that little girl. She's my whole life, she's my everything and every time I look at her I just have to love on her. . . she gets so sick of me haha.
  • She's crawling like a champ (she's pretty speedy too)
  • She's "cruising" (apparently that's a real term. I always just said She's pulling herself to a stand and walking along the furniture.)
  • She says Mama (only when she's upset) and Dada and I swear it sounds like she says "hi"
  • She LOVES books, this girl loves to look at books. You should see how excited she gets when you read her a story. She tries to turn the pages and she will make noises like she is reading along and then she will give all the pictures kisses.
  • She loves to be outside. She will point to all the trees. I take her in the backyard and she immediately wants to go touch the leaves on the tree. I just stand there and hold her while she pulls some leaves off and tries to eat them.
  • She loves Baxter. She will follow him around the whole house if he lets her. Some days when he's feeling generous he will let her "pet" him. He's such a good dog. He will lay on the ground next to her and She will smack him on the belly a few times and pull his ears and try and scratch his eyes, he will just lay there and let her do it. If she gets too rough he will gently nudge her hand away with his paw. (I think he knows where all that food on the dining room floor is coming from)
  • She has seven teeth, 4 on top and 3 on bottom.
  • She loves other babies. She absolutely LOVES other kids. Any time we are around another baby she is trying to get over there to check him/her out. She tries to grab their hands and tries to touch their faces. I don't think we're going to get away with not giving her a brother or a sister.
  • She loves looking at herself in the mirror. All you have to say is "who is that pretty girl" and she will go crazy. She just loves to look at herself and give herself kisses.
I wish I could have possibly known how much I was going to love being a Mom. It really is the most amazing thing I have ever done and I wouldn't trade it for the world :) I can't believe it's been almost an entire year.

Time flies

I can't believe we've gone from this:
Image

To this:

In just 6 months and 20 days.

I can't tell you how fast this kid is growing. She's already just about to crawl, she's got 2 teeth (and 2 more working their way in) she can sit up unassisted. I have a hard time believing that in just 6 more months she will be a whole year old. How can that be!?

*Spring Time* . . . any time now. . . c'mon spring.

I have the worst case of spring fever I've ever had in my life. I just can't wait to get Addyson outside and show her the whole world out there. I can't wait to take her up in the mountains and take her for picnics and all that fun stuff! I just want it to be spring time RIGHT NOW!!! Well I guess technically it is spring time as of a couple Saturday’s ago. . .but it sure doesn't feel like spring time. I hate that we've been cooped up inside for Addyson's whole life thus far, she's only ever known winter. How weird is that? . . . I guess that's how it goes when you have a baby in the winter time.

Some updates. . .

I am happy to report that things with my job are actually going pretty well. They have decided to work with me on my hours and are letting me work 35 hours a week instead of 40. I will be able to stay home with Addyson two days out of the week =oD HOORAY!!! It's so much easier to be happy with your job when they make you feel valued.

Addyson will be 5 months old on Saturday. HOLY COW how did that happen? I can't believe how fast time flies. At her last Dr. Appt (4 month check up) she weighed 14lbs 10oz and was 25in long! She is growing like a weed. My friend Nicole just had her baby on Friday and it was so funny to hold him . . . he is so tiny. It makes Addyson seem so huge in comparison. It's pretty bizarre how fast they grow up right before your eyes. . . Seems like it was just yesterday we were leaving the hospital with our tiny tiny beautiful girl (awe, *tear*) She is now rolling over and she's recently discovered how to scream in the most high pitched tone you've ever heard, she thinks it's pretty funny. She will just lay there on her little play matt figuring out how to make all sorts of cool noises. She can now grab things and put them straight into her mouth, her favorite things include: Her hands, other people's fingers, the wrong side of her plug, Any bib/burp cloths/blankets, and various other objects that I can't seem to think of at the moment.

And man, that kid loves her Dad. Nobody can get her to giggle quite like he can. I can't even begin to describe how just absolutely happy it makes me to watch him play with her and listen to her laugh at him and just smile ear to ear. It truly is the most amazing thing in the world.

well I don't really have much else to say. . . so here are a few pictures.
