Hannah is growing so fast

Hannah is growing up so fast.    She is a happy baby and loves to smile at us and is very ticklish.    She loves when her big brothers and sister do silly dances for her to laugh at.  She still doesn't really like car trips, especially when she is tired.  She loves to get her diaper changed, take baths, and really enjoys walks outside at night, since it is so warm.  She is almost 5 months old and loves to roll around, suck on her fingers (or anything she can get to her mouth), and is starting to babble.  She is sleeping blocks of 4 or 5 hours but hopefully she will get to 6 or 7 soon! ;)  She just moved to her big crib last week and doesn't like when she rolls over to her back and wakes up.  We all adore her!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Lily got a lead role in a community theater production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.  She had such a great experience!

Hannah's Birth

Image
40 weeks along and after two and a half days of waiting for the hospital to have some room to induce me, I finally got a bed.
Image
Dr. started Pitocin at about noon. Hours passed by and I was still measuring a three. Then I got my water broken and then things went a little more quickly. I got my epidural which helped a little with contractions, numbed up my legs, but then I started feeling my contractions stronger and stronger. By 7:30 or so she was ready to come out and dr. wasn't there yet and I felt my contractions super strong. I was yelling at the anesthesiologist, who wasn't in the room of course, and telling the nurse not to talk to me during a contraction. I think I tried to be polite about it. When the dr. got there I was ready to push and the anesthesiologist came in to "top me off". When Hannah's head came out Tommy noticed the cord was wrapped around her neck. The dr. had to cut her free before I could push her body out. It took a minute to get her to cry, which was a little concerning to me since I had no idea what was going on. She's here now and healthy and very beautiful!

My mom, Grandma Tessie, came up with the kids first thing in the morning so they could all meet our newest family member.
