CREATIONS BY MARIE ANTOINETTE & EDIE MARIE

Welcome to our Team Blog! Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie have joined together to create a fun place to share our ideas and lives with all of you. We know that our teaming up has been confusing for some of you and we apologize. We will refer to ourselves as Marie Antoinette (the Doll Creator & maker of fabulous items) who lives in Peacock Paradise and Edie Marie (the creator of the posts and story telling on this blog & amateur crafter of many things in my "attic") who lives on Golden Pond. What great fun we have combining our forces!!

Thank you for stopping by to see what's happening in our studios in Peacock Paradise and on Golden Pond!

WE'RE BACK!

It's been a busy few months for
Marie in Peacock Paradise and
for myself on Golden Pond!

A wonderful thing happened
this December... I had the blessing
of taking a trip to see darling Marie
in Picayune, Mississippi
and the chance to experience her
Whitmanville Christmas Village.
It was amazing!
(We know Christmas is past but wanted
to share Marie's fabulous village with you.)

Image

Marie's opening night was a great success.
More than 500 people & children came
out to see her incredible village!

Image

It's been a while since we've seen each
other in person so you can imagine
what fun we had.

Image

The entry of Whitmanville was a treat
to behold. Marie created scenes that
set the stage for a peek back into
the Edwardian era, the era of her village.
This was a vintage wedding gown
decorated in glass cameo ornaments
and topped with a golden crown.

Image

Marie and I brought this beautiful
chair from her home along
with the darling beaded lamp
and some of her favorite
collectible dolls. It turned out
incredible.

Image

Look at Patty Play Pal with
her crown on that I made for
Marie one Christmas!

Image

The other corner of the entry was
adorned with another vintage wedding
gown decorated in gold. So lovely!

Image

It was a vision of beauty!

Image

Next to it was one of Marie's
Theater Angels.
This one was created for the
Ladie's Christmas Luncheon at
Marie's church and shows the
nativity scene in front of the
Bible.

There were Christmas themed Theater Dolls
on Marie's guest book table. They were
the perfect touch in the entry area.

Now for the main event...

Whitmanville is 124' of Christmas magic!

Image

It takes 2 weeks of lots of hours and the
help of Marie's daughter, Alexia, and a
dear friend of Marie's to set up the village.

Here's just a few of my favorite close-ups.

The sun has set and it's "show time"!

Image

Every age came to see the village from
wee ones to the elderly.
All was thoroughly entertained!

Image

The looks on the children's faces
were that of pure wonder as they
inspected all the details of
this tiny town!

Image

Image

It was wonderful meeting Marie's good
friends, Bessie, Dr Tim and Ricky.
Ricky & Dr Tim own the
Teddy Bear House in Picayune.
What a great place that is!

The night was an incredible success!

A special thank you to Mr Larry of
Larry's Dry Cleaners in Picayune
for giving Marie the perfect venue
to display Whitmanville for all of
the people of Picayune to come visit
it for free!
(Don't you just love his vintage sign?)

Image

Thank you for the most amazing week
my sweet friends!!

Hope you enjoyed a peek into
the world of Whitmanville!

Blessings & love,
Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie

Our Paris Cafe

People have asked us what our favorite
thing in Paris was.
(Besides the Eiffel Tower)

Image

Our answer is always the little
place we had breakfast every morning,
Cafe le St Lazare!

Image

Our Barista was Pierre, pronounced Perry
with the emphasis on the "ry".
He was so handsome and endearing.

Image

Pierre did not speak English but always
seemed to know exactly what we wanted.
We fell in love with him and his young
female assistant, Odelle, pronounced O-deal.
She spoke pretty good English
and was sweet, kind and adorable.
The last morning we saw her she hugged
and kissed us goodbye.
(Of course I cried)

Image

Our usual - cafe (coffee) and croissants.

Image

There's nothing like the French croissant!
Crispy and flaky on the outside
and the inside melts in your mouth.

Image

 Meet something incredible...
the chocolate croissant!
Heavenly!!

Image

Here I am at the cafe wearing the beautiful
lace trimmed sweater Marie gave me to
wear in Paris. I felt so tre chic mon amie!
Merci!!

Image

Hubby sure enjoyed the time we spent
sitting at the sidewalk cafe and watching
the hustle and bustle of Paris pass by.

Image

Here we are enjoying our breakfast before
taking the train to Versailles.
We couldn't miss going to the Palace to
see where Marie Antoinette lived!

Thank you for coming to the cafe with us!

Bisous, Edie Marie
